Zinnia Talks To Oz...Finally

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

RW Abbey: Great Hall

The Great Hall of Redwall Abbey. Countless paw falls have echoed from these stones, and untold numbers of feasts and merry gatherings have been held here. A table, not nearly so grand or large as its predecessors, but quite functional for mealtimes, rests near the center of the hall. Chairs exist here aplenty, and they are all of a matching set. High above, the stain glass windows give the Great Hall a beautiful appearance. The glasswork is exceptionally done, crafted by a skilled artist. The floor is clean and swept. A fire is kept burning in the fireplace at almost all times of the day and night, and there are several more comfortable chairs and cushions set up here, of varying sizes. One looks large enough to easily accommodate a badger.

The Tapestry hangs proud and tall, and while the rest of Redwall may still bear the scars of natural disaster, this most famous of Redwall's relics remains unharmed by beast, time, or the elements. The figure of Martin the Warrior seems to be watching over his own with an unchanging, kindly gaze.

Soft light is slowly beginning to filter in through the stained glass windows high above your head.

Zinnia sits in the large chair, she knows it’s likely not the best place to be but it’s easy to curl into and sleep. She didn't get much sleep the past couple days and sort of half-asleep now as she coughs a little and sighs.

Oz usually comes into the Great Hall about this time and slows as he is near the chair and tilts his head. He stays quiet as he holds a mug of green tea in his paws and sits in on the table by the chair with a soft clank.

Zinnia opens her eyes when she hears the clank and looks up. She sits up better and stays quiet for now as if pretending she is not there. She edges off the chair and goes to try a slip past Oz best she can. In her mind it's best to avoid him after she basically slammed a door in his face last she saw him..yeah before the fall feast.

Oz steps back and lets her pass him, he waits and then clears his throat "One doesn't forget foot paw steps and all beasts a different voice and that goes for coughs as well, each one fits the owner of the cough." He doesn't face her, he waits, "Your back Zinnia"

Zinnia stops her escape of the room, she frowns and speaks "Yeah, just...umm an hour ago, I guess." She stays where she stands, she knew it would be a fail to try and sneak off.

Oz nods "This is good then...I am glad you’re safe then." He goes to sit down in his chair.

Zinnia nods "Yeah, all safe and sound" She says quietly. She watches him go to sit and seems to fight what to do, stay or quietly walk away. In her mind he most likely hates her.

Oz sits down and arches an eyebrow, he knows she didn't walk off, "You sure you’re ok Zinnia?" He lets her decide whether or not to answer that or not. He takes a sip of tea and sits down the mug again.

.

Zinnia shrugs, yes he can't hear a shrug and she knows that. She also is unsure what to do, it’s been a while, she been away a while and before that distance to a lot of beasts.

Oz notes the silence, but he knows she was mainly silent before she left. He sips his tea quietly. After a while he stands "I should go check on the dibbuns, they will be out of Sister Mary's class soon." Mug empty and sit down, he heads to the stairs slowly. Mutters once about his knee, darn knee.

Zinnia nods "Yeah...dibbuns...." She then suddenly decides not to just stand there, she is rushing to his side and goes to hug him, if the hug is allowed she buries her face in his robes and starts crying for a good few moments before finding her voice again, "I'm.'..so so sorry Uncle Oz. I didn't mean to seem so rude and heartless and mean and you most likely not too happy to really ...well know I am here" Not like scan say see her. "I am so so so sorry"

Oz is knocked a little off balance as the hug does come as a surprise to him, He lets her hug him and places an arm around her as she sobs into his robes, "Is alright I was never upset at you, I was worried about you. You seemed so lost and I was unable to help you"

Zinnia hugs him tighter as he is one of the few beasts she can harm giving a strong hug too. She lets herself still cry before calming again, "But I..I.I was so...mean to you and most beasts here. I avoided every beast..."

Oz lets her talk and nods. He keeps his arm around her and then gives her a full both arms hug.Oz says, "Zinnia....please calm yourself. All will be alright, you were unsure how to handle things, we all have times like this but you seem better now and that is what is important"

Zinnia nods as she wipes away a tear, "But others, and even you may not really forgive me"

Oz replies " I forgive you, I cannot speak for anyone else as it’s your job to find that out yourself. I love you Zinnia and never didn't love you"

Zinnia smiles as she hears the words, "I love you also Uncle Oz" She feels a weight seem to lift, she is happier now and knows others do still care about her, her uncle does at least and she is more willing to seek forgiveness from others if it’s needed.

Oz smiles, "I am glad you’re feeling better and have returned to the abbey"

Zinnia answers "Me also." says quietly, she wonders on whether to mention Xander, well she can mention him later.

Oz says, "It seems the trip helped some. I am guessing it went well?"

Zinnia says, "It went well yes. They have a new Badger Lord." She will keep most of what happen to herself for now, that and she has yet to talk to Abbot Benar. She also brings up something else “Want to come with me to the graveyard, wan to visit papa grave but not...like alone"

Oz nods, "Alright, we can visit Zork's grave for a little while..." He hears Sister Jenny and stops her "I am going to take the rest if the day off" She nods understanding, he tilts his head at Zinnia “Let us go and then we can maybe talk by the pond"

Zinnia asks, ""Or the orchards" She can't dislike the orchards, she can't hate the orchards “Is that ok?" Yes its where he died and this is a good way to get over that" I can tell you about a dibbun I adopted and....and I feel I should not avoid the orchards so..."

Oz nods "That is fine, then after wards the orchards..." He hmmms on the adopted dibbun and then lets her lead him to the graveyard and the orchards.

Zinnia does so. The visit to the graveyard is maybe an hour, the time in the orchards will be till dinner time, or about half an hours’ time, time in both places seemed to help her feel better, she needed to be these places, yes the badger mountain had its ways , its beasts to help her recover and now comes being back at the abbey to the abbey to further help her recover, to help her know she is still welcomed here, she is still loved and cared about and most important of all she still has her family and friends at her side.
