On the dirt road just north of the abbey

Zinnia need to get out for fresh air, not that fresh air was not all around her but she wanted to walk in the woods by the abbey, and just have some time alone to think.

Longfang has been watching the gates and smirks as he sees Zinnia leave, he follows her and then speaks, “So…the daughter of Zork Winters finally comes out of hiding. So..so very unwise, daddy not teach you to be careful?”

Zinnia spins around and gasps, “L..Longfang!”

Longfang smirks, “You remember me, I am so happy for this, you have a good memory and so do me and my Master. Master Bora will be pleased with your head, now he been MORE pleased with your father’s head but he will be glad to hear the old warrior may as well be on his death bed.” He cackles loudly as he walks slowly to the badger maid.

Zinnia frowns and then goes to suddenly charge the ermine and push him towards the ditch as hard as she can!

Longfang was not expecting that as he tumbles and screams, he growls and grabs a tree root and pulls himself up and back to the road, “Ya Brat!”

Zinnia picks up a large dead tree limb and swings it at The ermine as hard as she can, “ Get away from me! What do you have against my father and uncle!” She is starting to get a little mad at the Ermine.

Longfang smirks as he backs up, then growls as part of the tree limbs cut into his face. “ Sure I will tell you, and your listen and listen well. This was seasons ago in the Snow North Lands , near Send Valley. I was just beginning my warriorship and was getting this.” He shows the blue arrow on his paw, “ My first day as a warrior of the Frosted Arrow. Master Bora was but a dibbun, but for a 2 season old he was strong. His father Lord Argo was the leader back then, a force not to be messed with and he was after the tribe of the Flowing Stream. A tribe of wolves, wolves who befriended badgers, your..family in fact. There was another badger clan up there, but unlike the Winters Clan who was but one family, small but still a clan…The Willowbrooke Clan was 4-5 different families of badgers who joined together as one, but they were a lot more peaceful and was no concern to us at the time.” He smiles “Though recently Bora had the Willowbrook clan of badgers all…killed, dibbuns..female and males, dead from poison and an ambush of the rest.”

Zinnia narrows her eyes “You’re a monster, and you need to pay for your crimes.”

“My crimes..MINE?!” Longfang growls,” The battle seasons ago, your family killed most of Argo’s beasts, and they had the help of those wolves. Me..Bora and Argo were all that was left and your father, Zork Winters, killed Argo…from that day on me and Master Bora vowed revenge. Death to all badgers and especially your family, more importantly your..father.” He smiles coldly “I think I should kill you, that would repay a debt I do believe. And make sure your father knows full well who killed you, why the stress alone would surely finish him off. He is in a wheelchair, and surely was having issues with health the other day. He is weak now. I be doing him a favor to help him die.”

Zinnia once more goes to swing the tree limb at the ermine as hard as she can, over and over again if need be.

Longfang is hit in the side twice, the arm once and growls as he starts slicing and dicing the branches of the large tree limb she has, he hopes he can inflect the badger maid with wounds as he goes to basically kill the large tree limb.

Zinnia gasps as she gets a cut on her left paw and one on her snout, but the large tree limb takes most of the blows of the twin swords, she pants as the large limb is soon nothing more than a few leaves and weak trigs and the limb is cracked in many places and unfit to do much else. Except break more.

Longfang slices and the limb of the tree is sliced in to 3 pieces and two of those pieces hit the dirt road. He smiles coldly as he looks sideways at the badger, “Oh my, well your next dearie. One less badger, one less Winters around for Master Bora to have to worry on. I promise this won’t hurt much.” He smiles coldly, “Just a lot!””

Zinnia frowns as the broken tree branch gets even more broken, well that plan didn't work, so there is always run! She drops the last bit of the branch and bolts.

Longfang growls, this should have been easy. He puts his blades away and gets his longbow and selects an arrow, he aims for her leg" Oh don't leave so so soon, we have only just got to known each other so well!" He aims, and he fires" And it’s rude to run."

Zinnia doesn't get too far when she feels a pain in her leg as the arrow sinks into it and she starts to trip and stumble going onto her side. She rolls to the side of the road and almost into the ditch. She uses her claws to grab onto the side and pull herself upwards and back to the grass and goes to try and remove the arrow.

Longfang walks over to the badger, no point using the longbow now as he so much rather use the twin blades he has now, he goes to draw them again and points one at the badger maid, " You do good ta listen to me, you can't run too fast with an arrow in your leg and I on the other paw am skilled at running on snow and ice." He smiles " I should take you to my Master, he be very interested to know the killer of his father, has a daughter" He smirks.

Zinnia glares at the ermine, the arrow is still in her leg, " I..I am not afraid of you. And it be better for you if..if you went back north."

Longfang chuckles coldly, "I think your lying, one can't suddenly not be afraid." He goes to place one of the blades by her throat, "Up for a little trip? I have someone else whom is tagging along as well. That is unless he dies first , see he angered me and I could care less if he lives or dies seeing as I was only told to bring him to my master. master Bora didn’t say if he was to be dead or alive."

There is nothing a villain hates more than to be interrupted in their act of villainy. Especially by a group of fellow vermin beasts. Coming down the road from the north there are a trio of beasts. "So what do you think of the new head guard?" Asks the bare chested weasel with a red sash about his waist. The ferret walking next to in the green beret rubs at his chin. "You know...credit where credit is due. The number of petty thefts of food and drink are down considerably."

"Yeah, that's cause he ate all the food and drank all the drinks!" Both beasts laugh at the weasel's joke.

"You know...I am right here..." Bandit replies sourly. The rather tubby fox lags behind, slumped over and panting for breath. His white leather jerkin, despite the stab at his weight, fits loosely around his pudgy torso.

Zinnia frowns, "You have who else with you?" She is not fully updated on everything that’s gone on. She just saw Longfang briefly the other day and today was worse than that day...or maybe not. She gulps as the blade is near her throat.

Longfang goes to answer when he sees the other vermin heading his way, and he is in no way going to lose a captive to random beast in this area. He goes to roughly get the badger to stand "get up!" He barks angrily, and makes sure to keep the blade where she can see it, "One wrong move and ya never see daddy again. " He smirks "Then again ya may never see him again anyways."

"Come now Bandit, if you didn't like jokes about your weight then you wouldn't have grown so fat!" Bandit rolls his eyes at the weasel's jest and replies, "I'm sorry, what kind of promotion did you say you wanted?"

The weasel laughs off the fox's comment as a joke, but the snide remarks cease from then on from either beast. As they draw near none seem to see the ermine and the badger, but from here it is rather easy to see that these travelers are armed. The fox has a short sword tied to his hip as does the ferret. The weasel carries a spear, using it as a walking stick as they draw near.

Zinnia is roughly pulled up and frowns, then she takes a chance, maybe a bad one but she is not about to go with this ermine and if this is a choice, well..."Bandit!!!! Help Me!!" Hey, he is here and he has friends so 3 against 1 right?

Longfang eyes widen at the badgers outburst and he growls, he looks ready to slit her throat but he wanted to keep her alive, so he does the next best thing to shut her up, he uses the sword handle to hit her upside the head to knock her out.

Unfortunately for Longfang the damage has already been done. Three heads swivel to the sound as if it were a fire cracker. "Zinnia?" Bandit gasps. He then peers through the bushes to see the badger and bits of a white furred...ermine? Really? It can't be?! They were not even looking for...The fox growls, "What are you waiting for, an invitation? Run him through!"

"I said run the coward through!" At the fox's command their weapons are drawn and the two guards move forward, the weasel with his spear the ferret with his short sword.

Zinnia struggles to get loose and then all goes black as she is knocked out, the last thing she sees is Bandit and the guards.

Longfang lays the badger down by the ditch and has his blades out as he goes to slice at both the guards coming at him. But in his anger and the fact he did just somewhat fight a badger, he is worn out and the swing totally misses both of them, as he growls and goes to spin around, and into a fighting pose, "I don't know who you are, but this is my strip dog!"

Blades clash as the ferret deflects the blow. He backs up as the weasel circles around. The guards try to effectively surround him with Bandit in the middle. "Hunting Badgers without a permit. I'll just add that to your long list of crimes, Longfang." He really hopes this is actually long fang or else this conversation might be a bit awkward. "As head guard of Ferravale you are under arrest for crimes against Ferreavale and in connection with the disappearance of Marek." Bandit cannot believe he just spouted out this nonsense instead of killing the ermine. He has grown up a bit...whether for the better or worse has yet to be seen. "This is your only chance of surrender. Drop your weapons or my guards drop you." The fox levels readies his own blade.

Longfang throws his head back and laughs one of those evil laughs and looks at the fox, "Well, well you have come to arrest me have you? Well isn't that unexpected ." He narrows his eyes as the way back to the badger is blocked, he angles his blades at the guards, "Few usually want to mess with me, and I can hunt badgers if I so wish. I usually like dead ones more but who knows, maybe one will die today..maybe even two." He goes to suddenly slice at the closest guard to him .

The weasel leans back to lift up his spear in defense. He is through a moment too late, and in the game of life and death a fraction of a second was kind of important. The weasel's eyes bulge as the blade crosses his midriff, from one end of his belly to the other. The weasel staggers back then collapses onto his open stomach.

"NO!" The ferret shouts. As one the fox and ferret attack, slashing and slicing at the ermine.

Longfang grins as he has two blades , and he uses both of them to slice at one of the guards, the other guard manages to get a slice onto the ermine’s upper arm and blood starts to drip from the wound.

Zinnia groans as she starts to come to and her eyes flutter open as she looks around.

Bandit is vaguely aware of the ferret falling backward with a cut to his arm, leaving the brown fox alone to deal with this opponent. The sound of the swords scraping against each other rings in his ears. There was a time that Bandit moved just as quickly, his attacks just as fluid and deadly. Gluttony, sloth, and a soft bed have seen too it that those days for Bandit are over however. He struggles just to keep his own and keep the blades away from slicing him to bits. Finally he trips over his own tail and yelps as he falls backward, leaving himself exposed!

Longfang walks up with his twin blades and stares the fox down and snorts "You’re not worth it, and I have Marek and now a badger to tend to, have a good day" He turns his back on Bandit and walks back towards Zinnia, his twin blades out.

A conversation with Scioto runs through the fox's mind, "Those who live by the sword..." Eventually all beasts reach the dark forest, those who live in dangerous professions tend to reach their first. But at least Bandit won't go down as a coward! With a growl and one last surge of strength the fox picks himself up and throws himself at the Ermine. "You won't hurt her!" He shouts as he tries to drag the ermine down and pin him, trying to bite him in the ear as he does.

Longfang gets a look of total shock as he is suddenly falling face first into the dirt of the road, he howls in pain as his left ear is bitten into and his twin blades fall from his paws and slide just out of reach of him. He snarls and growls as he tries to get the fox off him, but with no luck does it work, "Release me!"

Zinnia groans and slowly sits up as she looks over at what has happen and blinks. She has a headache and the arrow is still in her leg.

The fox sits up on the ermine, only to turn the beast over so he can see him face to face. "You slimy toad faced widget! You kill my guards and then expect mercy?" grabbing the ermine by his clothes he leans back then head buts him in the face. For a moment the fox can only stand there, breathing deeply, a look of feral anger on his snout. The feeling passes however as he catches sight of Zinnia and the arrow in her leg. "Oh light...Zin... Markus, are you still alive?"

"Gah! My arm!" The ferret shouts back. "Good, you're alive," Bandit replies. Standing up he steps off of the ermine. He casts a glance at the weasel. Still clutching his belly the weasel still draws breath, but with his stomach cut open it won't be long before he passes into the dark forest.

Longfang spits in Bandits face and then is head butted into unconsciousness and slumps to the ground, he will be out cold for a while.

Zinnia frowns at the arrow, then looks to Bandit and smiles weakly "You..you saved me, thank you"

The fox continues to breathe deeply, wiping ermine spit off of his fore head. "I...I did..." He cracks a smile. "We got you you sun of a toad. We got you...Markus, if you can stand, get Zinnia to the abbey down the road."
"But my ARM!" The ferret protests, earning him a sharp bark from the fox, "Suck it up and do what you are told." He casts a glance at Longfang and then the weasel. "Tell them to bring a surgeon and be quick about it." The fox knows there is not much he can do though beyond staying with his guard until he dies...and making sure his killer doesn't run off.

Brent, the ferret guard helps Zinnia back to the abbey and makes sure she gets inside ok, even helps her to the infirm and then goes back to where Bandit and the dying weasel is.
