Characters: Kip(spoof), Will, Amethyst

Location: Moledeep, Camp Willow

Moledeep: Infirmary

Kip came into the infirmary looking for Will. "Hey, come with me. I want to show you something," he called the rat over.

Will had been sleeping in one of the beds next to Aikuen. Fira was in the bed on the other side of the older otter and both were still sleeping. The rat rubs his face and blinks at the new otter, "Huh? What is it?"

Kip grabs the rat's arm and pull him along, "Just come on. It's a surprise, you have to see it."

The rat pulls away, "Where are we going?"

Kip rolls his eyes, "Just to Camp. Now come on!" He pulls the rat towards the door again.

Will says, "Wait! I need t let them know where I'm going in case I don't get back before they wake up." He jots down a quick note on his tablet for the otters and sits it down on his bed as Kip literally dragged him out of Moledeep.

Camp Willow

Kip pulls Will along through the woods and down the river to Camp Willow. Once inside he points out 'the surprise'.

Will is puzzled and stumbles a bit as the otter pushes him toward what looks like a pile of rags.

Except it's not a pile of rags and it sits up to face the two beasts that have come to stare at it no doubt.

Kip grins, "The guards found her poking around outside and acting kinda suspicious. Figure she might got lost or something, she's lucky she didn't fall in the river or something."

Will blinks a few times looking over the young rat-maid in the brown patched up dress. He just stares not sure if she's really there or not.

The maid seems to stare at the with milky eyes dibbun, being blind she can't actually see him. She relies mostly on her ears, nose and sense of touch to 'see' things. She reaches a paw out experimentally to see how close the beasts are. She knows they stopped near her, she just doesn't know where.

Kip sits down to watch the rats not saying anything.

When the maid put her paw out Will copies her and puts his own out toward her, still not sure if she's real or not.

When the maid's feels Will's paw with her own she grabs hold of it and pulls him closer to run her paws over his face to see what species of beast he is.

Kip chuckles as his friend is reeled in like a fish on a line but does nothing to help him.

Will is too stunned to pull away though he flinches as the maid's paws touch his eye patch, she isn't exactly gentle.

The Maid is surprised that it isn't yet another otter, but a rat like herself. "Sorry there, I'm a look first talk second sort of gal and since eyes don't work have t make do with what does. So what brings you to 'water-dog land'?" she says clearly not too impressed with hosts.

Kip starts to open his mouth but stops himself and just shakes his head, he'll let them talk still and after Will leaves he can have some words with his guest.

Will doesn't seem to hear the maid as it's just sunk in that she's real and not imaginary. "Y-you're beautiful!" he exclaims softly, still staring at her like an idiot.

The maid scoffs, "You been out in th sun too long haven't you?"

It takes a lot of restraint but Kip /does/ mange keep himself from laughing when he hears Will call the scruffy rat-maid 'beautiful'.

Will shakes his head before he realizes she can't see him, "Uh ... no. I haven't been out very long. You /are/ beautiful. ... do you have a name?"

The maid is still skeptical, but she relents. "Fine, whatever. Maybe I just attract idiots, who knows. No name really. Been called 'no eyes' a lot ... from the stupid look I'm /sure/ is on your face I doubt you'd care to hear some of the other names I've been called. You can call me whatever name you want to," she says, then adds "Just not beautiful, that's not a name."

Kip snorts trying again not to laugh, he half wishes Will does name her 'Beautiful' just to annoy her.

Will nods, "Oh, ok. Let me think." He chews on his lip a long white trying to think up a good name for her. Finally he has one, "How ... how about Amethyst? Do you like it?" he asks hopefully.

The maid tests it out some, "Amethyst. Am-eh-thist. Am-eh... A-muh ... A-me-thist .... Amethyst." She nods, "It'll work."

Kip grins and watches the rat in relative silence.

Will smiles, "Soo Amethyst, how'd ya come t be here at Camp Willow?"

The maid smirks, "Well, sir, who name I do not know, your friend already told you what I'm doing in here. Soo mystery rat, what are you doing here?"

Will chuckles, "Oops, sorry. I"m Will ... um ... William."

Amethyst nods, smiling at the direction his voice is coming from, "Nice to met you so far William, even if you are an idiot and somehow got the idea that /I'm/ beautiful. No idea how that could have happened, unless you can't see either, hard for me to tell."

Will says, "I can see. Not as well as I used to but I /can/ see and you /are/ beautiful. I say you're beautiful so you are."

Amethyst nods and takes her staff in paw, bringing it around to clonk him on the head before using it to push off the ground and help her get up.

"Ow! What was that for," Will growls rubbing his head.

"For being an idiot. I say you're an idiot so you are," she smirks copying him. "And," she says as she sands up, "I've been sitting too long. Care t walk around some with me?"

Will scowls at her forgetting she can't see him, "Fine." He starts to lead her off to the canal and sees Kip following them. He motions for the otter to go away again heads for the canal where it's less noisy and more private.

Kip does leave and once he's out of ear shot of the rat he howls with laughter. His plan had work far better than he'd imagined it would.

Amethyst follows Will to the canal, it /is/ much quieter here. "Not bad ..." she holds her staff, was formerly a spear shaft, out and moves it from side to side in front of her to keep from hitting anything or falling into the canal. "You come here often?" she jokes, poking the younger rat with her free paw.

Will grins at her, "Some times. It's quiet. Good for thinking about stuff. You like it?"

Amethyst nods, "It /is/ quiet. Dangerous too, but that's nothing new for me." She stops under a willow tree and leans back against it's trunk, "It's a pretty place, what I can /see/ of it anyway."

Will walks over and sits down under the tree next to her, "Could you see before or where you born not seeing?" he asks picking at the grass near her feet.

She shakes her head, "Nah, wasn't born like this. I could see before, but then it just kinda went away. It not a big deal I do just fine," she says letting herself side down the tree to sit beside him. "How old are you?" she asks.

"Five seasons, why?" he answers.

"I'm six gonna be seven soon, when the leaves change colors." she says yawning. "You mind?" she asks leaning against him a little tired.

Will blushes, "Um ... I-I guess not."

She can't see him blush but she can feels his face get warmer. She grins, "You /sure/ you don't mind?" She tucks her head under his chin, which takes some effort since she's a little bit taller than him.

"No. It's fine," Will says softly as she snuggles against him. He puts his arms around her hugging her a little. "This is nice," he says softly closing his eye ready to drift off himself.
