Moledeep: Mole Hall

Its very early in the morning. Before dawn. And all the otters are up before anyone else. Fira stands by the doorway. Wearing a heavy cloak, Aik's pack, and is holding her spear. Getting ready to go.

Aik pleads to her, "Do you really have to go... now... I mean the abbey can let us have the books just a little longer i'm sure... I can go with you... or I'll miss you too much."

She smirks, leaning in to kiss him, then nuzzling his cheek, "No. It cant wait dear. Plus i need more. You need to stay here and watch the kids. Ill be back before you know it." she kisses him once more before leaning down and hugging and kissing each of their daughters. Still in their sleepy state.

Aik hugs her as well before waving her off, "Hurry back... Be safe... please," he pats her stomach.

Fira rolls her eyes before putting on a hat and leaving through the doorway, after one more kiss of course.

Aik closes the door behind her and slides down it, rubbing his eyes, "I miss..." He shakes his head before heading back into the hall. He places his sleeping kids on the chairs before going to re lit the fire. He sighs and sits next to them, falling asleep right after them.

Several hours later, Garnet comes in from the hall. She chuckles and shakes her head at the otters before heading into the kitchen to start breakfast.

Aik is still out. Which is probably good for him.

The twins are... semi asleep. After Garnet left they both got up and start to play on the floor. Which include tackling biting snarling. But Aik is not awake to notice. Father is not watching them!

Amethyst can't see the biting but she can hear the snarling. She nods toward the little voices, "Fair enough but you need t play a bit quieter mateys."

Venei walks up and places a paw on Amy's leg, "...Yeses... She wents to the abbies with books..."

"Be back soons..." Ella gives her input.

Venei continues, "She looks all funnies with that stuffs on hers... she has a sillies hat.." she giggles.

Amethyst nods calculating in her head the distance to and from the abbey and how much long a trip might take in all the snow or could if it snowed more. She nods a little at the little otters, "I see. Nothing to worry about then. She should be back in few days if the weather's on her side." She breaks her all but forgotten pastry in two and hold one quarter in each paw holding them out for the little otters. "You two have anything to eat yet?" she asks taking Aik's snoring as a sign the twins haven't been tended to for a while.

Venei quickly takes the pastry, "No'es... Fathers has been asleeps since mommies left. Which is odd, as he usually talks a lot... Thanks Ama-tist..."

Ella places a paw on Aiks leg before running over to get the other food for her, "Tanks Amies..." And they both start to nom, right next to the rat.

Amethyst frowns a little, she'd thought as much. "Well Aik should know better. You two stay /right here/," she instructs firmly, "I'll be right back with some more vittles for ya." The blind rat walk off toward the kitchen to have a word with Garnet about a certain otter and get some hot breakfast for the twins.

Both little otters plop on the ground still chewing slowly on the pastry. After they finish they start to sing. Or at least try too, "...Sleeps in tights..." "No'es its... Sleeps at nights..." they giggle at each others lyrics. Aik is still out. He should probably wake up before a bump starts to grow on him. But that aint gonna happen anytime soon! When Garnet is told she sighs and rubs her eyes. She makes a tray out for and ONLY for the little otters. Aik can get his own dern grub. Make it himself. She tells Amy to wake him up as well. But be careful as the otter tends to be jumpy when woken oddly. At least, according to Fira.

Amethyst returns from the kitchen with a tray full of food in her paws. "Look what Garnet made just for you two!" she calls out to the otterbabes smiling at their attempt at singing. She sits the tray on the floor and slides it under the table. "There you are. Nice and cosy under your own little fortress there. Better come eat before some other beast comes along an scoffs it all for you."

The otter babes stands up and bounces a little at the tray, "Ooo...Tank Amies..." Ella says.

Venei says, "Thanks Ama-tist!"

They both giggle and hug Amy's leg before charging under the table.

The sounds of messy eating otters are then heard. Argh the porridge! Its everywhere!

Aik is still asleep, though he has stopped snoring. The noise is beginning to wake him finally.

Even if it hadn't it wouldn't matter that much, as when the twin otters had released her to feed their faces, the rat had gone to retrieve her walking stick that she keeps by the entrance. She return and proceeds to jab at the sleeping otter every so often keeping a tight grip on her staff should the otter try to pull it away. "Wake up Aik!" she calls out loudly, "Time for all bad waterdogs to be awake."

Aikuen grunts as he is poked, pushing it away with his paw, "Go away... Stop that..." It's the 'waterdog' remark that really gets him up. He knocks it away from himself heavily "Say that again, and I will break your..." he sighs, "...stick..." he growls out. He then hrms, placing his elbows on his knees, and starts to rub his eyes.

"And if you break her stick, I'll break your paw!" Robin smirks a little bit as he steps in from outdoors, shaking snow from his boots and coat, taking them off and setting them down somewhere to dry before nodding at the little ones, Amy, and then Aik. "Hey."

Amethyst smirks backing away from the old otter as he wakes up. "You've been a very bad otter, Aik. And I think you deserve to be called that. Also if you're hungry you'll have to serve yourself. Garnet isn't going to cook for you after how you've acted. Fira went to Redwall and will be back in a few days depending on the weather, you know that." The blind rat looks crossly toward Aik was she walks back toward the table.

Aikuen looks over at Amy, giving her the 'don't mess with me today' look. Even more so because he knows that she is blind. He scratches the back of his neck, before getting a stock of the room. Looking at the noise and mess under the table. He blinks, "...I'm not hungry..." he grunts out, "And I haven't been bad... just..." he looks back at his little ones, "Just..." There is a reason why Aik is so cheerful since he got married. And missing her just adds to it, "... Thanks for getting them food... Amy..." He then looks to Robin and glares, "...And if you break my paw. I will break your face..." he closes his eyes and rubs them. This isn't him, "Sorry..."

Robin blinks a little as he pauses mid-sit, falling the rest of the way into his chair. "Sheesh, who put their claw in your pie?" he asks, tilting his head. "Wait...I think that's it." he nods before shrugging. "Not in a good mood today Aik?"

Aikuen tilts his eyes at the pie thing, "Pie?... That might... be it... And no, I'm not. Sorry if I seem so... mean. Fira left for the abbey this morning... and..." he takes a deep breath, and rubs his eyes again. There getting red from all the rubbing.

Robin ahs a little bit and nods. "Ah. You miss her." he nods, scratching his head. "Dad gets that way when Mum's gone." he nods. "When she leaves. On that rare occasion." he chuckles before thinking. "Is there anything I can do to put you in a better mood?"

Aikuen nods at the stoat. One of his weaknesses this is, "No Robin... Unless you can bring her home faster..." he chuckles lightly, "And get Amy off my back... she is mad i bet. Because i..." he takes a deep breath, and then whispers "After she left. I felt... very sad. And i feel asleep. I left the twins unattended..." They are perfectly fine, "I didn't mean too... Then she called me... that awful word for otters..." He growls slightly, and shakes his head.

"Then you threatened to break my face." The stoat smirks, chuckling quietly. "Ah, well. Amy is. Well. Amy." he nods. "And I'm sure Fira will be home soon. Don't expect me to run after her and carry her home on my back like I did with that mouse." he laughs.

Aikuen smiles at him, "Sorry about that... And i don't want you too. This is good for her. First time away from the kids since well. Ever... I just worry." he snorts, "Which she told me not too. Which makes me worry even more... Its a vicious cycle..." he smiles at the stoat even more at the last comment. He is feeling better.

Robin grins and points. "Haha, I knew I could get you to smile!" he laughs, smiling himself again. "Yeah. So. Aside from feeling lonely, how are you Aik?" he asks.

Aikuen smirks at the stoat before checking up on his little ones, "Other then that?" he looks up at him, "I guess im good. Cant really feel anything else. But i assume i would be good. As i usually am... Though my dinner might consist of Hardtack..." he glances over at Amy, then the kitchen, "I'm not really hungry anyway... You?"

Robin tilts his head a little, shuddering. "Hardtack. Yech." he nods. "Don't like that stuff." he smirks then shrugs a little, yawning. "Tired." he nods. "Been helpin' Dad get some firewood through the winter. And finishing off Mum's gift." he nods. Seems like he's making something for Garnet too.

Aikuen scoffs, "Just don't have good taste for the stuff. Your mum wont make it for me..." he snorts, "More firewood? While it is his chore... Glad he has help. So he doesn't freeze his tail off... And a little Gifty?" he smirks, "Well good. I need to finish mine for my rudderkins... Its almost there birthday!" he chuckles, and checks up on them. Still messy as ever.

Robin laughs a bit and then huhs. "Really?" he asks. "Wow. I'll have to make something...thanks for letting me know." he then yawns and stands. "Anyways. I'm going to head to bed. Night Aik, night Amy!" he nods before heading to his room. The sleeping hall. He really needs to ask Will for a room of his own.

Amethyst has remained silent through the stoat and otter's discussion just sitting in one of the chairs by the fire, facing the otters the whole time. Her staff leans against the side of the chair farthest from the crackling flames.

Aikuen smiles and nods at him, going to drag out his little ones after he leaves, "Alright my little mates. What have you done here..." he hides a laugh, as they are covered in sticky porridge, "You know what this means..."

"Bafs?" one twins asks.

"Yay Bafs!" her sister exclaims. Otters love water.

Aik laughs, and wipes some of the gunk from their faces, "Maybe. But why should i give them too you?"

Venei says, "Cause we is messies..."

"And why are you 'messies'?" Aik asks.

"Casue we is!" Ella chuckles at her logic.

Aik shakes his head, "No... But i will give you a 'baf' anyway..."

They both Yay! and hug Aik, slobbering the porridge all over him.

Aik snorts and wipes a bit off, looking over at Amy, "Sorry about before... And thanks again for getting them food..." he smiles and nods.

Amethyst harrumphs. She still thinks he's making far too much fuss over Fira leaving then he should be.

Aikuen waits for a reply, and when he doesn't get it, he frowns slightly, "You know better than to call me a 'waterdog' Amy..." he harrumphs back at her. Picking up the tray under the table, and starts to clean the floor of the mess. While the little ones watch.

"It made you wake up didn't it," the maid replies still cross with the otter for neglecting the twins.

Aikuen eyes her, "That is no reason Amy... Could have woken me up some other way..." he sighs and starts to wipe of the more mucky stuff from the little ones, "Silly Ella. Porridge goes in your mouth."

"I still say you deserved it," Amy says then sighs, slowly punctuating each word as she continues, since the otter didn't seem to get it the last time, "She. went. to. the. abbey. She. will. be. back. soon. Get over it!"

Aikuen is in no mood to be talked to like that. He frowns and his ears go back, "Okay fine. I should have been awake. That I will admit... But how dare you talk to me like that..." he growls. He picks up his daughters and heads for the kitchen, "I will not get over it. And if you cant see why. Then I'm sorry for both you and... especially Will..." he scoffs before entering the kitchen and, after explaining to Garnet for a little bit, starts to heat some water for the otters bath.

Amethyst just shakes her head as the otter leaves seemingly taking the little otters with him. While Amy doesn't understand the otter's reasoning at all. While she would be upset if Will left without telling her or if she didn't know where he was at all she can't see any reason to be upset if he was just going over to the abbey for a few days. Sure she'd be a little lonely and would miss him but she doubts she'd act like Aikuen has been, well not so as to ignore her little ones, if she had any. While still stewing over the otters behavior the maid begins to doze in her chair, lulled to sleep by the warmth from the fire.

And that's how Will found her when he came in later in the day. Unaware of what may have happened while he was out at the kiln he'd scooped up the sleeping maid to lay her on their bed so she could sleep more comfortably. Once that was done he'd gone to get something to eat. Since Garnet was off with Chris by that time it was not til late that Will heard of his father's actions after Fira'd left that morning.
