Leon slowly opens his eyes as he groans, he frowns as he fell asleep in the slave collar Aithne place on him and coughs. He has a healing claw mark on his nose and around the eye patch he has.

Eliana is actually up, blinking at the new arrivals, she slept like a log last night, she at least has moved up from soups, and is eating something a bit more solid, toast with her soup. She still looks thin and run down, that mark where the collar was around her neck for so long still there, a furless band around her neck, she has some curtains drawn around her bed, she has been looking over the leveret, which now rests in a crib like bed right next to hers.

Leon coughs and looks around as he slowly sits up "ohhh headache..where?" He looks around half remembering last night and half not. "Melibella? Lee?:”

Eliana nods as a healer speaks to her quietly, still silent, having not said much to anyone, still no one knows where she came from or how she got to the state she was in but it is clear there is trauma. The healer rises and moves over to Leon, after drawing the curtains so showing the leveret and Eliana to him as she smiles "Shhh dear you were in rough shape." She bustles about checking you over "Any pain?"

Leon looks up and over. "Asha?" He says , he would know the infant as he was the one that sent her here, he feels his head and frowns "Headache and sore throat.." He looks over at the older rabbit maid who looks asleep and probably still has her slave collar on as well." Need..this..off" He feels the collar, it’s only been on about 3-4 days so he probably doesn’t have missing fur, marks maybe.

Eliana shakes little in her bed as she eats her soup seeing those collars, she looks about ready to bolt, the healer gently draws the curtain "Yes Asha is here, miss Eliana is taking care of her for a while,” She slips off to get something to help calm the headache and comes back to look over the collar to see about removing it.

Leon frowns, it looks like there is a key but..where is it? "I..think the vixen that had the key..died or Hudson has it...he ran off tried to kill me" He coughs. "Place caved in where I was"

The healer moves about before she sighs and motions a helper to go fetch the blacksmith surely he would know a way. The healer smiles "Asha is safe she is with the wildcat, though getting her away now that her mother instincts are in full drive might be easier said then done." The healer smiles and backs up as the blacksmith arrives with a few tools.

Leon looks over and frowns "Melibella will..want her daughter back"

Eliana pets the tiny leveret and smiles, it is the only thing that has allowed her to take her mind off what is going on, she would gladly protect the leveret with her life if needed, matter of fact when the guards get near she starts letting out low mewls warning even hissing loudly at a few. The healer smiles "We will work it out, Just have to show her that the leveret is in good hands, we think she was a slave to but much longer than you were”

The door to the infirm opens once more to admit one brown fox. Bandit is actually looking good despite his circumstances. He is walking without a cane, if still with a slight limp. The fox is traveling bare chested save for the brown cloth vest about his shoulders which he has left open to expose the bandages around his middle. The vulpine has also slimmed down somewhat as most sick beasts do when receiving an injury.

Bandit walks in licking his paws clean of syrup. "That marten was right, those pancakes were to die for-" The fox pauses at the sight of Leon, in the flesh so to speak. His jaw hangs open.

That blacksmith starts working some pieces into the keyhole jiggling and wiggling the metal bits as if trying to pick the lock, it takes some doing before that collar suddenly springs open and free from the neck, the blacksmith grinning as he takes the collar and works on the others.

Leon gasps and rubs his neck, "thank...you" He mutters and looks up at Bandit, "Bandit..."

Before the mouse can reply further the fox is on him, wrapping the mouse in a great big bear hug and trying to lift him from the floor. "Leon! You're alive!" setting the healer down he pats him on the back, "I'm going to maul you in a moment for making us all worry like that but for now, your alive!"

Leon tenses up as he is hugged and coughs again, "Yeah..nothing like almost being buried alive in a collapsing house...and other bad news "

The fox throws his head back and whines, "Leon, I've lost my home to invading vermin. One of my friends is now working for said vermin leader as his own personal beast hunter. I've seen you nearly die now twice, and I am still recovering from being stabbed through the gut." The fox chuckles weakly, trying to force a stressed smile to spread across his lips, "I don't think I could handle any more bad news. Maybe, maybe you can say the bad news in a happy way so it doesn't sound so bad?" The fox looks at Leon pleadingly.

Leon frowns, he isn’t in the mood to say it happily, "Hudson has Martin's sword, I seen it plain and clear as he put it in my face and then proceeded to start to stab me right here" He pints to his chest, "You know what’s right..here? And he would have it lightning didn’t hit the house and it didn’t start crashing down all over, I don’t know what would of been worse death by house or the sword"

The fox rubs at his stomach, "Right now I am partial to saying 'death by sword'." The fox rubs at his eyes with a mournful sigh, "Great, so now Hudson has Flicktail’s fancy moon sword or whatever it is. Like that's not going to come back and bite us in the tail." Leaning back Bandit tries to laugh, he succeeds but only making a weak chuckle, "Well, I try to look on the bright side, we are both alive." He pauses, tilting his head as he tries to think of what else to add, "Yeah, that's all I got for right now but I think it's a pretty good start."

Leon nods and sighs "I dislike adventure"

The fox glances away from the mouse for the moment. "So do I. It's why Elena left me." Bandit does wonder what ever became of that fox. He moves across the room, hoisting up his injured body onto a cot where he sits cross legged, "Ok Leon...what's next? I seem to be out of the loop as I waste away here in the infirm. What's been going on while I heal up?”

Leon shrugs, "I don’t know..find Hudson and save the dibbuns, Streamheart and Sister May..Hudson thinks Oz is dead, could be a good thing for now."

Nodding to each comment the fox replies, "I would like to help, somehow, somewhere...it's just that, well." Bandit's ears fidget as he continues, "I tried to help Lee rescue you but I couldn't even make it out the door before I collapsed. I'm still healing up from my wounds..."

Leon says, "Its best you do heal up, not good in a fight if you’re in bad shape like that your lose quicker"

The fox lowers his ears, "I know it's just, I don't want to feel so useless." The fox rubs at his arm, "Sure, I helped defend the abbey the first time Marek attacked. I even helped take another warlord down a peg a while back. But that is just it, a while back. Since then all I have done is sit and eat. The only reason I got in shape was because I got kidnapped by a slaver a while back." He rolls his eyes at the memory, "I wouldn't mind having some use in saving Redwall”

.

Leon says, "Well maybe you can help find the dibbuns or see if you can find any info on weather Benar and them are around"

The fox thinks about this, rubbing his chin, "Benar? Didn't he head out to get help along with the other beasts? They went to Big Sal right? That's what we called it on my ship. Well, actually I can't really repeat what vermin pirates called the badger mountain in polite company. I don't even know where to begin on finding them...or dibbuns." He chuckles, "My skills are generally limited to spying and cutting beasts to pieces with sharp pointed weapons. Finding beasts wasn't really a needed talent on a ship."

Leon looks at the door, "Well I am going to go try and find my dibbuns, they can't be too far from where Hudson was

Leon looks at the door, "Well I am going to go try and find my dibbuns, they can't be too far from where Hudson was”

The fox smirks, "I'll help out where I can. I'm afraid I can't stray too far from the infirm yet. I suppose all I can do right now is just rest up and get healthy again." He sticks out his tongue as he rubs at his stomach. "And try not to over eat pancakes at the local Tavern. Oh, I forgot to tell you, I got a job at the local Inn for a while."

Leon looks interested "Job? What sort of job would that be?" He slips off the cot to look in a mirror at his eye patch and frowns as he takes it off. It did save his eye from further damage but there is claw marks above and below it now as he finds herbs to place on it and mixes them in water and dabs a little of the mixture on that and the mark on his nose as he turns to look at Bandit finally.

The fox tries not to chuckle. Everyone he knows looks like crud these days. Beaten up, broken, but still kicking and going on. Say what you will about these Redwallers, they have grit. "Just a little job at the local Inn. I'm a front desk clerk. I check people into rooms, make sure no one steals from the money box. Simple stuff." He wags his tail playfully, "I don't plan to stay long, but I can't survive on the kindness of Ferrevale for ever..." He leans forward to whisper, "And the food they have in the infirm is horrible!"

Leon chuckles, "Well it’s usually just soup, at Redwall they sometimes may of given a muffin, but usually if in the infirm you don’t eat much so,...you know they keep it simple..bland soup or simple bread, maybe cordial or water"

Bandit wags his tail some more and squints as he smiles, "Exactly!" At the mention of food the fox's stomach growls loudly. "Er, speaking of getting healthy. I think it’s about time for brunch. Care to meet me in the tavern? I havn't had wood pigeon in half a season."

Leon shrugs, he makes a face "Yeah wood pidgon...interesting taste" He leaves Bandit to wonder about that as he heads to the tavern.
