RW Abbey: Zork's Room

This is a good size room and has a large bed with a blue blanket and a couple blue pillows on it. The bed looks like it could easily fit a tall badger. At the foot of the bed is a cherry wood chest that is locked , only the owner knows what lies inside. Beside the bed is a small nightstand with a small drawer and a larger drawer. On the Nightstand are an oil lamp and a wash basin. On the wall is a picture of Brother Zork made from charcoal. And a toolbox is close to the wall, inside is forge tools, and its wise to leave them alone. There is a door that goes back to the hallway.

Zork the badger. DoraRose the mouse.

Zork is sitting up in his bed having gotten fairly ill from the heat, in fact he almost passed out and sweated a lot, but there was a healer there or it could of been a lot worse than it was. He still has a slight headache but at least it doesn't feel like he has a pulse in his neck and head now.

DoraRose has been concerned for her friend, and so she is now standing outside his doorway (after being lost for the better part of an hour. Who knew this place had so. many. rooms?), staring at the door. She lifts a paw and knocks on the wood. "Zork? You in there?"

Zork looks at the door and speaks "Enter lass" He says, his voice a little low but semi loud still, just not as much as it should be. He is still sitting up a little but may lay back down here soon as he sips some water he has by the bed on his night stand.

DoraRose opens the door and pokes in her head. "You okay? You didn't look to whippy at the feast the other day, and I don't think I've seen you since then." She enters, closes the door, and goes to sit on the edge of the badger's bed.

Zork frowns "I...been in here mostly past couple days. Didn't feel well so left" He would say early but he can't "Left after cooled off in some shade some one helped me back ta here once it was sundown"

DoraRose watches him closely. Her Nana has been quiet about all things Zork, but the Warrior has a suspicion. "Y'wanna talk about it?" She asks quietly. She will listen to him or distract him from his troubles, whichever one he needs.

Zork frowns "Talk bout wot lass?" He lays down slowly and takes a couple deep breaths, no pain just some trouble breathing for a couple minutes but it seems to pass as he coughs a little and speaks better, " Just ...under de weather guess"

DoraRose shrugs and looks at the wall. "Sometimes beasts want to talk about their troubles and want advice, and sometimes they want to just be listened to, while at other times they want to be distracted and listen to what other beasts have to say. I'm here for you, friend, for whichever one you need."

Zork nods "I...I gave Silverstorm full run of de forge, not that I can do much anyways...can't walk or stand well, and..." He looks away "Just gettin' worse lass"

DoraRose nods slowly and reaches for his paw, continuing to look at the far wall. "Silverstorm is strong and capable. She can handle it, and she will handle it well. But," she now looks at him, concern showing on her face. "How do you know it's getting worse?"

Zork frowns, "Cause....I use ta be able ta at least stand and now I can't with out a staff and haf ta lean on it. De heat gets ta me and it never did before. Sometimes I...me...chest hurts like a second or two sometimes but then its ok again, or me pulse will suddenly seem to go faster or slower, Make no...no sense. Also been tired last couple day but may be cause...shouldn't of went ta de feast, but I had ta...I did..." He looks at her, is he crying or about to? "I..."

DoraRose is silent, but when she notices the look on his face, she goes to hug him and rub his back.

Zork starts to say something else but decides not too, he isn't for sure but it's just a strange feeling he has, this weaker bit by bit thing he is going through. " I...know somethin' not be right....just feelings and me Uncle seemed ta frown when he asked me how I were...and de whole 2nd half of de feast"

DoraRose nods silently, then says softly, "Sometimes our feelings are our best indicators of what's going on."

Zork does something he rarely does in front of anyone, he starts to cry. "yeah like....not...not round m...much lon...longer" And then he just shuts up, sometimes even strong willed beast sob like a dibbun, he just hopes this doesn't get out to any beast.

DoraRose Strongheart knows how to keep a secret. She wasn't planning on telling a soul. She instead pulls out a handkerchief and offers it to the badger. "I'm so sorry..." What else is there to say, really?

Zork cries and seems to care less who knows, he doesn't reach for the handkerchief, he goes quiet all of a sudden and one might panic but wait he is breathing good and his pulse, even though a little fast is not in a danger zone, seems the former blacksmith has done something he hasn't in seasons, cried himself to sleep.

DoraRose stays with him until he falls asleep, then silently exits the room, her heart heavy within her. She hopes against hope that he will get well soon, but she has the feeling that this is nearing the end of his lifestory.

Thanks for reading! Isn't this sad? :(
