Unexpected Visitors Part Two

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Characters: Kentar, Garnet, Chris, Robin, Will, Amy, Bale

Location: Moledeep

Moledeep: Mole Hall

The hall is quiet, with only the quiet echoes of voices speaking quietly as a bit of noise. Its Kentar and his nephew Robin. They're sitting at the table, getting to know each other a little. "So Robin. Your six seasons?" he asks, tilting his head. The other stoat nods. "Yeah. Its not all its cracked up to be I guess." he takes a drink of the cordial he was given. "Haha! I'd love to be six again." Kentar smirks.

Garnet enters the hall, with a napping Chris in her arms. She is looking for her husband, "Kentar? You in here?... Oh... Hi... Umm, Robin, is it?" she looks at the other stoat, before going to plop down next to Kentar, and she whispers, "Hey Love...Sorry to interrupt..." she resets Chris in her arms, giving a small smile to Robin.

Will comes in from outside. He'd gotten up early and made a new sign of rules which occupies the old sign's place to the right of the door as a beast goes toward the tunnel entrance. He nods a little in greeting at the stoats, "Hello." "Kentar, I fixed th sign out front. It must have fell down or something but it's fixed now," the rat says walking off toward the study to sit down.

Robin just rolls his eyes. "The way dad tells it, you hated being six seasons." the stoat laughs quietly. "I mean. You were whipped as a punishment. Even though dad was too, and he hated it, he still does it to me when I don't do what I'm told." he sighs a little. "Dad isn't mean. He's just doing what he knows is right." Kentar was about to say something before Garnet showed up. "Hey love." he leans over and gives her a kiss.

Garnet smiles at Kentar, when he kisses her. But she remains quiet at the conversation, though she thinks this is not proper talk for a little one in the room. But she is the one who interrupted in the first place. She hmms, while she rocks her son.

Will seats down in the study where Amy is also sitting mending something. He doesn't shut the door all the way and listens to the talking coming from the hall in silence. Kentar had told him to stay away from Bale and Robin and so he is, for now

Kentar looks to Will for a moment before sighing and looking back to Robin. "He still whips you?" he sighs a little. "I'm sorry Robin." He looks around for a moment. "So Robin. You want a refill?" he asks, motioning the empty mug. "Ah. Sure. Thanks." The older stoat takes the mug and goes into the kitchen. Robin looks to Garnet and tilts his head a little.

Robin looks to Garnet before tilts his head to Chris. "Chris?" he asks. "Well. I'm Robin. So. Yeah. I guess it would." he stares blankly at her for a moment. "You...and uncle Ken are...married?"

Garnet tilts her head, then nods, "Yes, we got married about a month ago... He didn't tell you?" she hmms, "Well yes we are..." She goes blank again and shrugs.

Robin nods a little. "He did, actually. But. I don't get why." he looks the stoatmaid over for a moment, shrugging. "Nothing special." he mutters quietly. Kentar must be lost or something cause he's not back yet.

Will continues to listen to the conversation from the study.

Garnet frowns at him and says, "Why? Why not?...Nothing Special?!" she hmphs, "What do you know...your just some kid..." she hmphs again, obviously insulted by this. She eyes him for minute before going back to look at Chris. She grumbles something inaudible, but its bad... that you can tell, at least.

Robin just nods a little. "You look like every other stoatmaid I've seen. My mother. The one I like." he nods. "Heck you even look like my dad's mother." he says simply.

Robin shrugs. "Sorry. But you might not look very special. You are nice. I guess." he says. "So that more then makes up for it." The stoat looks around a little.

Amethyst has decided to move for some reason. She pack up her things and walks out of the study, staff in paw, and heads toward the garden burrow to sit in one of the rocking chairs by the unused fireplace. She doesn't say anything to the stoats in the hall as she passes them.

Garnet rolls her eyes, but she is looking down so he cant see it, "I am nice... and i am a lot more..." If the other stoat is trying to make it better, he is failing miserably. She has always been told in her life that she was drop down gorgeous. Stupid kid... don't know any better.

"But that's just what my dad says anyways. I think you look great. I'm always told never to tell what I really think. Go with what my dad says. So." Robin looks around. "Don't tell him I said anything nice."

Garnet looks up from the babe, and give him another melting ice smile. But she is doing this naturally, and its just happened because of the compliments, "Thank you... Thank you so much! I wont say a thing..." she smirks, "Though i don't see why you shouldn't say stuff like that... maids really like that kind of stuff! Compliments, are always good" she giggles a little bit, she feels so much better now. She's still got it!

Robin smiles a bit, the first time since he got here too. "Dad doesn't like me being polite. He says its not good for our line of work." he says. "Not to get attached to beasts."

Garnet tilts her head at him, "Line of work?" she can guess its something bad though.

Will comes in from the study and walks off to the kitchen trying to pretend Robin isn't there.

Robin nods a little and looks at Will as he passes. "Dad and I. Are assassins. It was what dad was trained to do. And from what I was told, Kentar was supposed to be an assassin too. And a darn good one I think."

Garnet blinks a few times, and her muscles freeze up, "Wha?... He is ...was... supposed to be... What!?" she wants to get up and move but her legs wont let her, "You guys... Are..." she blinks a few more times and looks around, and yells, "KENTAR!" she is quite alarmed, and scared.

Kentar doesn't come in yet. Whatever he's doing, it must be important. "Look, Garnet, right?" Robin stands. "We're not here for you. We're not here for Kentar. We're just passing through. That's all." he smiles. "Don't worry about it. Please."

Garnet goes to glares daggers at Robin, "OH i am going to worry about it! You guys are assassins... and my husband... was almost one... How do you think that makes me feel huh!" she gets enough feeling to stands up and back away a bit from him, shielding her son "I wish Aik was back..." she frowns at him.

Robin frowns a little. "We're not going to hurt you!" he says before sitting down. "I'm sorry." he sighs and watches her.

Will returns from the kitchen and walks over toward the garden burrow but doesn't leave the hall right away. "You alright Garnet?" he asks having heard the stoats from the kitchen with little trouble.

Garnet sighs, but does not stop shielding her son, "Though i'm glad your not going to kill any of us... I still don't forgive you... any of you... You live a life of Evil... Stay away from my sons..." she frowns and growls at him. She glances to Will and says quickly, not removing her gaze from the other stoat, "No i'm not alright... Go find Kentar... Please, Now!" she yells forcefully.

Robin sighs. "If it helps, my dad is the one who's done all the killing." he says. "He's been teaching me but hasn't let me kill anything yet." the stoat explains, hoping Garnet changes her mind.

Will nods glancing toward the garden burrow where Amy's tuning her lute before nodding again at Garnet, "I will. He hasn't be around here somewhere." He looks in the storage chamber and dibbun hole first before going to the sleeping hall since it has the most rooms branching off it. If he can't find Kentar there he'll head outside to look for him.

Garnet wouldn't change her mind, if the other stoat praised her gifts and danced a jig, "Well... Good... That still doesn't change the fact... of what you will become... Of what Kentar was going to become..." she frowns and backs against the wall, going to sit on the floor, far away from the other stoat.

Robin sighs and hangs his head. "But he didn't become one!" He says. "Because dad's family was killed. He left. Kentar left us. When I was still quite young." A few moments pass and before Will can even get into the sleeping hall there's a loud bang. "GET OUT! GET OUT! TAKE YOUR SON WITH YOU!" comes a -very- angry Kentar voice as he storms into Molehall. "Robin! Get out! Get out of moledeep, both of you!" He growls. Bale follows, weapon drawn. "And who will make us." "Me." comes Kentar's reply. There's a quiet moment before Bale sees Robin's and Garnet's reaction. "You told her didn't you!?" "No! No I didn't!" The dibbun looks afraid now. "Your in for fifty lashes when we get out of here." Bale growls and yanks Robin off outside. They're gone. Kentar frowns then punches a wall.

Garnet frowns at them both, and when they leave she sighs, kissing her son on the forehead. She hears the fifty lashes, "Good... they both need five hundred lashes... Wish Aik was here..." she mumbles. She stands slowly and walks over to Kentar and stands a good distance away from her husband, "You!... Why didn't you tell me before!" she growls out.

Will would have commented saying that he didn't think Robin deserved a whipping as much as Bale but seeing Garnet turning angrily to Kentar he opts to keep his mouth shut and quickly walks over to the garden burrow to see how Amy's doing instead.

Kentar was on his way towards Garnet, needing a hug right now. But he stopped when she spoke. "Oh no." he sighs. "Will." he looks to the rat. "Stop have a seat. There's something we need to discuss." he sighs. "Before my parents were murdered along with my village, I was training to be an assassin. I ran away from the village once it was burned. And my brother. He stayed with his son. And became the assassin that he was meant to be. I had a choice. I made it. I ran. I'm sorry for not telling you but with everyone I ever knew dead..." aside from Bale and Robin, he means. "I didn't think it could come back."

Will had gone into the garden burrow but step back out of it when the stoat calls his name. He doesn't sit down. "Guess that explains why you were always looking at th ground and so quiet on our trip t th sea shore. Most beasts I've known are dead or here or ought t be dead. When you can I'd like you t help me clean out th fireplace an start getting it ready t be used so we won't have t do that when we need it once it gets cold," the rat says.

Garnet frowns, "Well it did come back... and it bit your rump clean off!" she growls, and takes a step back, keep a good distance between her and him, "Should have told me... You're my husband, your supposed to tell me everything!" she almost looks like she is going to cry, she is so angry at him, "You kept it from me..." she sniffs.

Will walks back to the garden burrow even though he will still be able to hear and since there's no door to the smaller gathering room he may be able to see them as well if he wanted to, which he doesn't. He pulls up a chair next to Amy and whispers a quick summary of what's happened with the stoats so she'll know what's going on.

Garnet she blinks a few tears at Kentar, when he yells. She remains silent for a long time and then finally says, "What are you going to do... assassinate me... because your angry..." she shakes her head, "It does matter... it always matters... I want you to tell me everything..." she holds up her ring claw, "This mean your supposed to tell me everything... you are my other half... That's what kicks me the most... I wouldn't have mind that you were an assassin... But you kept it from me..." she walks a little closer, about arm distance from him, "I love you... And im glad you made them go away... I'm sorry for..." she sighs, "...making your family go away... but they are bad beasts... And... I want them to go away..." she uses her free paw to wipe her eyes.

Amethyst nods some at Will but doesn't seem to care as she's gone back to mending a tear in her old blue dress. Often pricking her fingertips with the needle but she's used to it and can't see the flecks of blood that so often dot her stitch work.

Kentar sighs and goes over to give her a tight hug. "Love. I wasn't an assassin. I was training to be one. I fought my father many times, not wanting to become one. It didn't matter to him." he says quietly. "I never became one. If I had told you I was one, it would have been a lie." he nods slowly. "Yes. I know. I made them go. They aren't my family. Not after what they came here to do."

Garnet takes the hug, as it does help, "I'm glad your not... or else..." she places her head on his shoulder, "I don't know... Glad they are gone..." and then she hears the last part, and wasn't going to say anything, but Chris is here, and she is being a mother, "They said they weren't here... to kill any of us... Then why were they here?" she asks staring to get alarmed again

"I am glad too, love, I am." Kentar sighs quietly before tilting his head to one side. "The reason they came. Was to try to get me to join them. Go off, kill for fun, for money. Not my words. His."

Garnet smiles, "Thank you... for not going... Just thank you..." she sighs, and flips her heads to look at him, "Love... I"

Will and Amy are still sitting in the garden burrow.

Kentar kisses her back gently before hugging her and holding his wife close. "Love. I would never leave you. For nothing. Not ever." he sighs softly. "I'm going to bed. I need. A long night's sleep right now.

Will calls out from the garden burrow, "Night, Kentar. Tomorrow we'll work on th fireplace. Ok?" he waits for a response before finding a spot to lay down. It's too warm a night for much in the way of blankets and the rat doesn't seem to care where he sleeps. Amy's already fallen asleep in in her chair after she'd put what she was working on away.

Garnet nods slightly, letting her husband go, very hesitantly...but she does, "Thank you... Kentar..." she looks around, "I love you more than..." she sighs, and says, "More than anything..." she takes her free paw and grabs Kentar's, "Ill watch Chris all night... you, get your sleep..." then she hears the rat, and she smiles... just faintly, "Come on... you going to need your rest if you are to clean the fireplace..."

Kentar Smiles softly and nods. "I love you more then anything as well love. Thank you for it." he says about Chris, before nodding to Will, who he knows can't see it. "Yes, Will, I'll help!" he calls out before going into the sleeping hall. "Night love."
