The spy gets it

Mossflower Woods

Mossflower Woods -------------------------

The woodlands are thicker here, the trees close and the underbrush

dense. It would be very easy to get lost in the thicket. Strange

mounds are visible here and there. It seems that they must serve

some purpose, but it is unclear what that may be.

Vladmir is a master of stealth--There's hardly a rumor of the cruel fox's passage through the woods, be it the crunch of leaves or the rustle of undergrowth against clothing. The grey fox stops for a moment, the sunlight dancing along his silvery fur.

A shadow falls across the fox, followed by an eerie "Caw". A black blur, then a raven lights on a branch in a nearby tree. "Master, I have news!" pants out Lenore, for the day is sunny and warm, almost hot, and flying is hard work.

Vladmir extends a guantleted paw so Lenore can land on it. "What is it, my pet?"

Lenore stays where she is and lets out a nervous caw. "Do you want the good news or the bad news first?"

Vladmir waves the paw about in the air. "Whichever is more important."

Lenore hops to a higher branch. "I'll do the bad news first then..." she coughs and suddenly looks nervous and rather frightened.

Vladmir watches her closely. "Speak up, then."

Lenore gulps visibly. "There is a Seer in Ferravale. I went to him under the pretense of having my future told, thinking he might be a fake." she shuffles and spreads her wings slightly. "He either is and has a spy in our camp, or he is real. He..." another nervous caw, "knows who I am, and he knows about you."

Vladmir shrugs, somehow keeping calm. "Ah well. They were going to find us at some point...No matter. How easy would it be to../eliminate/ this beast quietly?"

Lenore's next caw is a loud explosion of sound as she spreads her wings out to almost their significant extent. "Impossible! He has a rope with a blade on the end, and his skill with it is mind-boggling! He would probably know about our coming days in advance! It would be suicide trying to kill him!" the raven looks genuinly terrified.

"Calm yourself!" Vladmir barks. "Silence, before your yapping lets the whole /woodland/ know of our coming!" He mutters angrily, then stops and sighs. "Very well. But it's not as bad as you think."

Lenore immediatly settles down, though her eyes still have a wild look in them. "How is not that bad? He is a real-live Seer!"

"That's good news," Vladmir says. "A spy among us would be /far/ more deadly."

Lenore flaps her wings. She looks ready to full-out panic again. "How is that good?! He could find our hide out! he could find out our plans! He could send us nightmares! he could send ghosts to haunt us! He could..." she is starting to babble with fear, caws exploding about every 5 seconds.

Vladmir clambers into a low branch, reaches up, and swiftly grabs Lenore's open beak, firmly clamping it shut. "I don't fear nightmares. I am one. And if he's for real, I know Seers. Their visions are limited, and if he knows of us, it was through pure accident. He is no threat, other than as a fighter."

Their conversation continued on in a similar fashion. This goes with the n00b TP, which has been renamed Thorns of Steel. Join us if you wish!
