The remainder of the eventful day in Ferravale...

Ferravale tavern. Happens after this log: http://rwmuck.limitless.org/rwmuck/content/eventful-day-ferravale-tavern

Skyes the polecat. Scioto the cat (in a brief cameo). Nightbreath the ermine. Ferdinand the ferret and Blisa the cat. Celina the vixen.

Sykes settles into his chair, not voicing what he plans to do if that black fox shows up again in polite company. Its not polite to say those kinds of things. He turns to the new beast that enters and manages to smile calmly at him.

Nightbreath walks in, his cloak swirling around him. He scans the tavern...He arrived moments too late to interfere with what just occured, so he shrugs and walks to the bar, ordering a wine.

Blisa watches as her father walks out of the tavern -- presumably to make sure the fox is dealt with properly -- and sips her tea, thinking. Ferdinand lets go of his sabre hilt and takes a drink of his tea, nodding politely to the ermine.

Sykes looks at Nightbreath and says to him, "Hello there, who are you? Why has Sykes not seen you here before?"

"I am Nightbreath, Seer of this village," the ermine says. "I rarely frequent the tavern...In fact I only partake of alcohol when, like now, I have need of it for experiments with potions. Or on special occasions," he adds.

Celina opens the doors to the tavern and walks in, she looks around the room and goes to sit at a chair near the bar.

Blisa waves cheerily at the ermine. "Hi, Nightbreath. We had a fight in here." Ferdinand drinks the rest of the tea and the barkeep refills it, gaining a nod of thanks from the ferret.

Sykes frowns and finishes his cordial, "Every time Sykes goes to get breakfast, there is a fight or a brawl. It is getting very annoying for him." He slumps back in his chair and looks generally like he might bite somebody.

Nightbreath's wine arrives and he begins adding herbs to it, raising an eyebrow at Blisa's statement. "Really? Fascinating."

Blisa frowns and half-glares at the Seer. "Do you really think it's fascinating, or are you just saying that? 'Cause if you're just saying it to make conversation, well, don't, cause I--mhpf!!" Ferdinand covers the kitten's mouth and glares at her, and she sullenly crosses her arms and lays her ears down flat.

Sykes stares at Ferdinand but then turns his attention to Nightbreath, "Mr. Seer, what are you doing with your drink?" He leans over to look at the wine Nightbreath is messing around with.

Ignoring Blisa just to see how she reacts, Nightbreath says smoothly, "I am attempting to combine the healing properties of Merchant's Mist with the characteristics of the wine to see if it has any effect on them when used."

Ferdinand lets go of the kittens face (mostly because she licked him) and wipes his paw on his pants, then sips his tea crossly. Blisa sticks her tongue out at her bodyguard, then turns and stares unblinkingly at the Seer, just to see if /he/ reacts.

Sykes asks Nightbreath politely, "That plant Sykes has not heard of. Can you show him the leaves?" He looks a touch embarrassed, but not too much.

Nightbreath rifles through his pouches and pulls out a small plant, with spiky, spearmint-like leaves. "Fairly common in Mossflower," he says. "Helps remove infection."

Blisa is now very curious, and hops down from her stool and peeks at the plant. "What would happen if I ate it?" Ferdinand rolls his eyes and sips his tea, keeping a close watch on his charge.

"You would vomit," Nightbreath says coolly. "Not to eat...Only for wounds." He stashes the spiked wine in a vial and stores it in his belt.

Sykes says to Nightbreath firmly as he gets up and moves over, "Saw a local called Alesa who might want to know about that. Do you need more of those? Sykes knows what they are now, can get them for you."

Blisa wrinkles her nose. "Then how come you're drinking it?"

"I am not. I am saving it to apply it to any wounds I might sustain," Nightbreath says calmly. "Thank you, but I have a large suply already" he says to Sykes.

Blisa nods and returns to her seat. Eventually she pulls out her drawing pad and charcoal pencil and begins to doodle. Ferdinand keeps watch over her, as is his job, and after a while he orders some food.
