The fever, the fever! (p. 1)

RW Abbey: Infirmary Recovery

This comfortable but spartan room has several small alcoves lining the wall. Infirmary bunks with resting and recovering patients lie in these alcoves, each cordoned off with a gossamer drapery of linen for privacy. The room is lit with oil lamps and the pleasing warmth of a small hearth fire. This room is kept quiet, except for the occasional snore, hacking cough or sniffle of its sleeping infirmary occupants.

-DoraRose is laying on a bed, dozing and trying to get over her fever. There is a cup of cool tea by her bed, a nice contrast to the heat outside.

-Raymond peeks into the infirm and sighs, he is having no luck in this huge place finding anyone, he walks the rest of the way in and sits down and folds his arms over his chest.

-DoraRose stirs at the sound of the sigh, and her eyelids flutter. A healer walks over and checks her, then goes back to the main infermary. The mousemaid's eyes are now open slightly.

-Raymond watches the healer and looks over at the mousemaid, he stands slowly and walks over closer and looks down at her and doesn't say anything.

-DoraRose looks up at the wildcat and gives a small smile. "Greetings..." she manages to croak out.

-Raymond nods then speaks in his deep voice, "I..do not work here but do know some healer, do you require anything miss?"

-DoraRose looks over at the cup of tea. "Thirsty..." she is shivering slightly from her fever.

-Raymond gets the cup and offers it to her, "I am achally here to talk to a Sir Flicktail and the Abbot, who I do not know his name, but seems I have gotten a little lost in this huge abbey"

-DoraRose tries to take the cup, but is too weak. It slips from her paw, and she sighs. "It is easy to get lost..." she softly says as the healer starts to walk in their direction.

-Raymond frowns as the cup drops,he catches it but the liquid is almost gone, he looks to the healer, "She needs more of the tea and also she may have a fever." He sits the cup down, "Yes...My Chieftain knows this place better than I, but was unable to come, so I came."

-The healer has reached the awake beasts and looks very miffed. "I know Miss DoraRose has a fever. She trecked through yesterdays heat with open wounds and no water." the healer, a female squirrel, busily wets a cloth and places it on DoraRose's forehead, then gets her another cup of tea, which the mouse sips out of. Turning to Raymond, the mouse asks, "Oh, who is your Cheiftan?" much to the healers chargrin.

-Raymond narrows his eyes some, He takes a deep breath and exhales, "I was simply helping and I will only speak with the Abbot or Flicktail and no one else...." Ok he did speak to the mousemaid, "As for the mousemaid I was simply chekinging to make sure she was being cared for, this is an infirm and it seemed she needed checked on"

-DoraRose sighs and closes her eyes as the healers' brush sticks up as straight as a ramrod. "Of course she is being cared for! This Redwall Abbey! And what do you need the Abbot and Champion for?" exclaims the irate squirrel, ignoring the slitted glare she is getting from the mousemaid.

-Raymond hissses low, he sits back down wanting to avoid an arguement, "None of your bussiness..." he says calmly.

-The squirrel opens her mouth to speak, but is stopped short by the iron paw of DoraRose. The mousemaid's blue eyes are like chips of ice as she grates out, "I may have a fever, but I am more than enough warrior to defeat you. Also, Abbeybeasts are suppossed to be kind to their guests. His buisness is between him, Benar, and Flicktail."

-Raymond snorts, he looks over at Dorarose and back to the healer squirrel and mutters under his breath.

-The healer seems to wilt under DoraRose's glare and mutters something under her breath before moving back to the main infermary. The warriormaid turns back to the wildcat and smiles. "I'm sorry. The healers are rather territorial."

Raymond gives a short nod "I noticed, it is not like I would...steal thier jobs, simplely here to speak with a couple beasts and then head back home"

-DoraRose chukles softly. "I think they are more territorial over their patients." she sighs and relaxes, closing her eyes. "I am DoraRose. May I ask your name?"

-Raymond turns to her "Raymond, Head Guard of the village of Ferravale."

-DoraRose smiles a bit more. "Ah... so Scioto is your Cheiftan. I have met him. He is quite a gentlbeast."

-Raymond answers "Yes Scioto is my Chieftain,....if see the abbot or...Flicktail let them know I wish to speak with them"

-DoraRose nods, begining to doze again. "I shall."
