The Price of Failure

• • This starts in the Great Hall of abbey ,goes to the infirm and then outside the abbey and to the Black Gull**

GREAT HALL

Kowell is till tied to the chair,but the ropes are a little loose and he has chewed threw one of them, and is chewing threw another one.

Silver walks down the stairs eating a pice of cheese...

Kowell looks at the hare and chews the rope, he keeps chewing the rope..chew...chew...chew.He spits a little and wiggles till the ropes are a bit looser,and gets a wing free, he struggles and the chair crashes and breaks, him still half way in it....but not for very much longer.

Jake comes down the stairs and yawns,he looks around the room and heads over to one of the chairs by the fireplace

Silver walks over to the bat and laughs."You still trying to get out are you?"He steps on the bat and laughs."You can not go yet!"

Kowell glares over at Jake,he manages to get the rest of the way free, though with a hurt wing he wont get too far...he eeps as his wing is stepped on and hissses at Silver "Dum Bunny!!!!"

Jake blinks and then sees the bat and narrows his eyes, he looks at Silver"Wot is HE doing here?"

Silver laughs."I called him back in for tea...wot do you think he his here for?"

Kowell goes to try and bite Silver's footpaw,"Bunnys better release Kowell..or Kowell hurt you plenty!!"

Silver frowns and kicks the bat in the face with his other footpaw."There is no need to bite!"

Jake folds his arms over his chest,he looks at Silver "So wot are you going to do with him Silver?" He looks at the bat now"Yeah shut up"

Kowell hissses and goes silent and just lays there.

Silver shrugs still keeping a footpaw on the bat."Well I had to do something...can not just let him go he tryed to kill Oz!"

Jake hmmms "Well maybe we should..." he starts to say something and decides agaist it,"Well cant leave him here either"

Silver laughs and picks up the rope."Well for now we are going to need more rope..."

Jake sighs,he seems to think and nods "We would have to find some rope."

Silver sighs and looks down at the bat."We will also need to find a better place to keep you..."

Jake raises an eyebrow and looks at Kowell,he doesnt seem to trust the bat much at the moment.He looks to Silver again "If we moved him,where to?"

Kowell speaks "Release me!!"

Silver laughs and looks down at Kowell."Aye and than you can go play with the dibbons!"

Kowell hissses and remains quiet,he doesnt say anything.then he speaks "Vhat Vant with Kowell?"

Silver smiles."What do you think we want with you?"

Kowell hisssses "Let Kowell go now!!!!"

Jake glares at the bat,he looks to the entry "I know lets get my bow and just shoot him now" he grins "It will be fun"

Silver shrugs."He might make a good target...but not now!"

Kowell looks between the hares and just gives up on the whole getting loose thing, least for now.

Jake smirks"Wot ever you say," he goes to sit in the chair by the fireplace, not much is happening right now anyways.

Silver smiles."Tell me kowell...would you like a candied chestnut?"

Kowell looks away from Silver and looks at the wall

Silver laughs."What not hungry?"

Kowell says, "Not want bunny food""

Silver smiles."Why not?"

Kowell glares at Silver"Bunny tie me up I hate bunnys!"

Silver frowns."Well you tryed to kill my friend!"

Kowell tilts his head at Silver and hissses,"So..." he simplyly says.

Silver laughs."So what would i tell all the dibbons if I had found there caretaker dead!"

Kowell smiles coldly at the idea..."That he dead,hee heee bye bye"

Silver shrugs."Well gald I am never going to have to say it..."

Kowell hissses and trys to get free again,he wiggles and gets somewhat loose.

Kowell wiggles again he has to get loose somehow,he goes once more to try and bite at the hare.

Silver yells as the bat bites his arm and reopens the cut on his arm."Why you little!"He sighs and trys to kick the bat.

Kowell is kicks and gets loose,he cackles and looks upstairs with an evil grin on his face.

INFIRM

Kowell makes his way into the infirm, he looks around and grins and goes over to a certain badger and lands on him,"Sleep..sleep...." he puts up his claws "Now sleep...forever more...hee heee" he looks ready to claw his thoat...geee someone better stop him.

Silver goes as fast as he can with his limp walk than looks at the bat and throws himself on the bat.

Kowell gets knocked off the badger just in time and glares at Silver and goes to claw at his arm and gets to the doorway,open ground and gateway.

Jo follows on, "Hoi, what be the hurry surrah?"

Kowell make a bee-line to the gate, best he can with a hurt wing,he looks back at Silver "Dum..Bunny!"

ROAD

Jo frowns, "Whoa whoa, wait. Ye' can't go with ye' wing like tat."

Silver goes as fast as his limp can take him and only stops at the gate house to grab his daggers."Stop that bat!" he tryscatch up with the bat.

Jo looks a bit confused

Kowell looks at Silver,the flying does get to him as he pants,he glares at the hare and floats towards the ground,he hissses "Stoped me dum bunny!...Stop me from finishing badger"

Jo makes a grab at the bat, being careful around the hurt wing. He attempts to hold him down.

Kowell tries to bite Jo. But also tries to fly still.

Silver looks at the otter and laughs."Keep him still."Silver trys to kick the bat in the face.

Maxtor walks through the gates.

Maxtor has arrived.

Jo keeps his paws out of the bats range of biting, "No violence here bucko." He gets a firm hold on the bats snout, holding him close as the hare tries to kick him. "Jus' what do ye' think ye' doing laddo?"

Kowell wiggles,he goes to claw and bite, his aim to get loose.

( Jo is holding kowell and silver (who got the cut on his arm reopened) is trying to kick kowell. )

Silver laughs."Trying to stop this bat...he is a killer...well he tryed to be one at least!"

Jo keeps his paw on the bats snout, wrapping an arm over Kowells chest to hold him still. "Well, seein' as he isn't one. Ye' don't have a reason to kick him. Ye' are in these walls, you keep your limbs to ye' self. Weapons inside the gate-house."

Kowell relaxes,maybe the otter will let him go if he holds still.

Silver frowns."Are you jokeing he just tryed to kill oz!"

Jo hoists the bat up and walks back towards the entrance to the abbey, "I will hear the story from ye' both. Jus' pray ye' don't get it from the abbot."

Maxtor walks out the gate. "What's all this about someone trying to kill Oz again?

Kowell snorts slightly.

Silver frowns and stand in front of the otter trying not to get the blood driping down his arm on him self."Do not take him back in the abbey!"

Jo frowns at the hare, "if'n ye' don' respect an abbey beast, then mayhaps you would respect a fighter of camp willa." He steps around the hare and continues walking.

Jo says, "follow if you want your arm bound."

Maxtor glares at Jo. "If he tried to kill Oz, you will NOT...take him back to the Abbey"

Silver looks at the otter."So you would just take him back in the abbey...he has tryed to kill a beast TWICE!"

Kowell looks between them and tries one last time to get loose.

Jo turns around, "It would be better to figure out what is wrong, I can take him into the gate-house if need be. But I want to know the reason. And seeing as you surrah, tried to kick him in the face. Ye' 'ave some explaining to do too." He feels Kowell squirming again, but still keeps his grip.

Silver frowns."What do I need to tell you to stop...if you bring him back inside he will try to kill oz again!"

Maxtor does not decrease his glare, he seems to be even more infuriated by what the otter has just said. "How dare you". he hisses. "He tried to kill Oz TWICE...and Silver TWICE....and YOU!!!!...don't take him back the abbey you idiot!"

Jo closes his eyes and shakes his head, "Im no idiot thank you, and another thing. I did mention the gate-house?" He starts towards the gate-house.

Silver frowns."But that is where everyone puts there weapons!"

Jo says, "well, aren't you glad he can't use em."

Kowell snorts and grins slightly,"How bout let Kowell go and Kowell never come back"

Silver can not help yelling."We can talk to him outside!"

Silver looks at the bat."If you even try to fly away i will put ALL of my daggers in your gut!"

Jo sighs, "I will talk to him outside, ye' need to put your weapons back in the gate-house anyways."

Maxtor nods. "And I'll put MY Daggers there as well...and my staff down your throat"

Kowell relaxes,yes trick the otter, "Yes Kowell be good...."

Silver frowns."But he will try to get away!"

Jo leans down and blows in Kowells ear, "If'n ye' try anything, I will tie you up and lock you in the cellar." He stands straight again and looks at the hare, "If he is outside the abbey, he will not be able to get to oz again. Seeing as he can barely fly."

Maxtor calms down, and slowly nods his head. "Fine, you can talk to him". He levels his face to look straight at the otter. "But if ye gets loose again, It will be on your head"

Silver laughs and looks at maxtor."Just go find some rope...he ate all of mine..."

Kowell listens to the otter and is quiet.

Jo sniffs slightly, "Then it will be so, on my honour and word as a fighter of camp willow."

Kowell looks at his wing,its still sore from last night,he hissses slightly but stays still.

Jo starts walking back toward the gate, "If ye' know, the long patrol are friends of the abbey. The only ones with weapons are those who patrol the wall top." He blows gently at Kowells head.

Silver frowns."Well I was not planing for a otter to stop him from geting away!"

Kowell mutters something about stupid bunnys"

Jo shrugs and keeps walking, "I wasn' planning on stopping a bat and giving a lecture."

Silver laughs."Well I guess none of are plans worked!"

Jo chuckles slightly, "That's the way of nature sometimes."

Kowell looks at them "Let kowell go? kowell go far away and not come backs...go home...yes home"

Jo rubs Kowells head with a finger, "That would be the best choice."

Silver frowns."What makes you think we will fall you your lies now kowell?"

Kowell looks at Silver, "Kowell not lie, kowell WILL go home"

Jo makes it to the gate, waiting for the bat to reply.

Silver frowns."You are lieing!!!"

Jo sighs, "Many have lied, many have tricked us redwallers before in the past. But, none got tied up and put in a cellar." He opens the gate slightly and slips out.

Maxtor takes a long look at Kowell. "He's telling the truth...I could tell if he wasn't"

Silver frowns."So are you saying we should just let him go!!!"

Jo shrugs, "Im saying, I will time him up and put him in the cellar if he comes back."

Maxtor shakes his head. "I was saying that if he goes away, he won't harm us anymore..and if he comes back". He pulls up his staff. "We'll kill him"

Silver sighs."If we let him go what stops him from killing others?"

Kowell frowns the celler idea sounds bad,he looks between them and stays quiet.

Jo says, "i'll find him."

Silver throws his arms up in the air."What after you find a family dead in the woods...or if a dibbons comes crying saying some bat just killed his mum!"

Maxtor nods. "I guess you have a good point Silver". He goes off to put his staff in the gatehouse, and starts to walk off towards the abbey. "I'll be making Fried Cherry Scones If anyone needs me"

Jo walks up to silver, "And I will take him to salamandastron. They do punish, do they not?"

Silver sighs."I do not know..."

Kowell looks between them and sighs,he just wants loose and free and stays calm,no fighting,thats the best way to get them to release him.

Jo blows again at Kowell, "Im sure they wouldn't mind putting him in a cave that fills with water every incoming tide."

Silver smiles."I can do that also..."

Kowell stiffens some,he frowns "Kowell wont hurt other beastie...kowell just leave, go away..not return to abbey"

Jo chuckles and pats kowell on the head, "Theres a good-beast."

Jo heads to the road.

Silver frowns and yells."YOU JUST TRYED TO KILL A BEAST!!!"

Kowell fake frowns "Kowell is sorry nad wont again"

Jo sighs again, "I will find him, hare. If he does a thing to anyone else. I will find him."

Jo blinks as the hare follows, "And why did ye' follow? Hoping to get a last shot?"

Silver frowns."I am not leting this bat go...it is scum like him who live to kill!"

Kowell looks over at Silver.

Silver looks the bat in the eye."How can you live with youself!"

Kowell slips free...

Silver frowns and pulls out a dagger."One more move and you are dead!"

Kowell says, "he said Kowell can go,so Kowell going" he heads North slowly "Dum..bunny, "

INSIDE BLACK GULL

Kowell limps in and looks around, he sees the cat and flies over.

Blackfur looks at the bat, "Well report Kowell"

Kowell frowns ,he looks at the cat "Kowell put poison in tea..badger.."

Blackfur listens as he looks at a drink of ale he has, "Badger what Kowell?"

Kowell frowns "Badger not dead....but close to death,kowell will finish him off tonight,kowell not fail again oh master"

Blackfur eyes narrow,he nods "I see...Kowell how about a drink to..calm yourself" he looks at a small vile,hey he had two in case one broke,he puts it in the drink when the bat isnt looking and slides it over "Here...on me" he grins.

Kowell blinks and grins,he takes the ale and drinks it"Master forgive Kowell?" he drinks more of the ale and smiles "Kowell will...keep rpomise,not fail master ever again,....master be good to forgive.." he finishes the ale.

Blackfur smiles Coldly as he watches "I know you wont, in fact...go do that now...ok" he looks to Kowell "I need to rest...plans, oh and all and those in my way die...failure is not an...option"

Blackfur slips off to rest..he smiles coldly.

Kowell nods and heads out,he shakes his head.

Kowell slips out of the gull ,he shakes his head , gee he didnt get in trouble,he looks around and coughs some,he shakes his head.."Yes..not fail gain..no.." he frowns,ok..something is up here.

Silver is moveing as fast as as he can (not that fast) he can not let this go...

Kowell starts to head dowen the road and falls,he frowns and his eyes go wide..he gasps for breath..."VH..vhat..." he gasps and curls into a ball, it dawns on him what the master meant now...when he said he knows he wouldnt fail him again,Kowell gasps for breath as it leaves him,the world turns black and he closes his eyes...his breathing slows and stops as does his heartbeat...He is dead.

Silver gets to the bat as fast as he can."NO no not now..."He opens his pack but looks back down and sighs...he is not breathing.

Kowell lays on the road,he doesnt move, he isnt breathing and has no heart beat...well guess he will keep that promise of not coming back.

Silver sighs."So...why did he just die..."He bites his lip
