From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Characters: Amethyst, Will, Aikuen

Location: Moledeep

Moledeep: Mole Hall

Amethyst comes in to the hall sopping wet and without her walking stick. She holds her paws out in front of her to feel where things are. She's getting better and finds the table fairly easily by walking into it. When she reaches out for a chair, however, she knocks it over and trying to find it again she trips over it.

It all happens so fast one minute she's reaching for a chair and the next she's on the floor. Will hurries over to help her up and lead her to the table. "Stay there," he says going over to right the chair before pushing it up behind her so she can sit in it. "Are you ok?" he asks pulling up a seat next to her.

Amethyst exclaims, "You pushed me in a RIVER without any warning! Do I look ok to you?!"

Will folds his ears back, "You broke th rules. An' we don't got a pond otherwise I'd a push you in there instead. I'd 'ave thrown ya but I don't know if I could lift you or not, not that you're heavy but it'd be kinda awkward since you're taller than me. No don't think it'd work."

Aikuen comes in from the study, hearing the loud voices, carrying a book and writing things. He looks to the pair, "Do i need to know?" he chuckles as he sits down at his favorite spot, the end of the table.

Amethyst is not amused."He pushed me in a RIVER!" she exclaims again, thinking the otter may do something about this.

Will says, "She was drinking which is against th rules and we don't have a pond so I used th river instead."

Aikuen was gonna ask Will, "For fun?" and then his son explains it, "Oh... Okay I can see why now..." He then eyes them both, "Amy, were you drunk? Wait, Will was she drunk?" He cant ask her, she might be still be drunk, or not realize it.

Amethyst exclaims, "I was NOT drunk! I was faking it! Leave me alone!"

Will smirks, "I /told you/ not t make th cellar your room but you did it anyways."

Aikuen looks to Amy, "You wanted to make the cellars your room?" He shrugs, "That's fine, but as you probably already know, Drinking is not allowed here... I was planing to dump the barrels, and only keep the wine for medicinal reasons..." If she wanted to stay there for the drinks, she will be sadly mistaken. He then looks to Will, "Was she truly drunk? or was she just drinking a little bit?

Amethyst answers the otter, "I was testing the wine to see if it was still good or not, that's all. It /was/ a bit more potent than I expected but I was /not/ drunk. Then I got my stick took away and I got dragged outside and thrown in a river," then turns her attention to Will, "And you didn't have to dunk me so many times you know or take my stick away!"

Will pretends not to understand, "I didn't take your stick. You must have dropped it or something."

Aikuen laughs a little bit, and tries to cover it up by coughing, "Erg...Heh... *Cough*... Ahem... Well thanks Amy, for testing it... But just know, I nearly died testing out medicines soooo..." He shakes his head and looks to Will, believing Amy a bit more than him, "If she needed to be dunked, just once is fine... and dont take her stick, she needs it for getting around...

Aikuen nods, "Yah that is true..." Yes, he says that out loud not caring, "But still only one dunk was needed... Did you apologize to her after?

Will nods and walks over to push Amy's chair closer to her so she can find it.

Aikuen looks to them both and laughs, "Don't beat him too much to a pulp! I Like him in a whole like form!" he places his paws in front of him, and watches.

Amethyst hears the chair scrap against the ground and can feel it once Will stops pushing it. She sits down in the chair, waiting.

Will walks away from the rat-maid but doesn't return to his chair. Instead he passes it and goes off into one of the rooms, returning with her stick. He walks back over to her and leans it against her and her chair, quickly moving out of the way to stand behind Aikuen's chair should she try to hit him.

Aikuen rubs the top of Wills head, when he gets next to him. He laughs and asks aloud, "So are you two getting along? Not killing each other, are we?" Could he make this conversation more awkward. Yes he can, but save it for later.

Amethyst says, "... Mostly."

Will shrugs, "I guess so." He hopes the otter, who seems to have turned his attention to his book for the first time since he came in, doesn't do anything embarrassing or say anything for that matter.

Amethyst shrugs, "You can ... otter's being awful quiet for some reason." She smirks at the otter, unaware that he's reading, "Why so quiet waterdog? Don't you like us?

Will goes off to the storage chamber to see if there's anything in there that could be remade into clothes.

Aikuen places the open book on the table and looks to the rat-maid, "Please don't call me waterdog or otter, call me Aik, or Aikuen... or being dunked in the water will be the least of your problems..." He chuckles evilly, "I like you two well enough, I'm just reading and writing something... and I wanted to leave you two alone... or else I might embarrass him some more!" He laughs again.

Amethyst says, "I didn't know you were reading, Aik. And from the sound of it, he went off somewhere."

Aikuen looks to her and smiles, "Thank ye, Yah... he went off to the Storage chamber... maybe to get you some cloth for you or something..." He places the parchment in the book and closes it to hide it, even though he know she can't see it "Yah I was just reading a little bit, to get me some inspiration..." He sighs and rubs a paw over the leather bound book.

Amethyst says, "Ah, must be nice. Reading that is. Never really got around to doing much of it.The not seeing doesn't help. ..."

Aikuen sighs, "Being Blind can do that... I just learned to read in the past season, I can read the words, just takes me awhile to understand it..." He sighs again, and asks since his son is not in the room, "So, do you like Will?... and don't beat round the bush, or any funny stuff...or else I'm gonna keep pestering you until you finally do..."

Loud crashing can be heard coming from the storage chamber and Will's voice calling out, "... uh ... one of the shelves broke."

Aikuen nods, "So, you became blind... not just born that way... I'm sorry, but you seem to get along just fine...good" He sees that his question was ignored, so he will ask later, "Are you okay Will? Need any help?" There was no screaming, or cries for help, so it must be not that bad.

Amethyst was about to answer Aikuen's question when she heard the sound of the shelf in the storage chamber giving out and whatever was on it come crashing down, "I think /my idiot/ is trying to kill himself for some reason. Yes I do like him, though I don't think I'll want to go in the storage chamber til it's cleaned up again."

Will hears the otter and calls back, "I'm fine ... some stuff just ... fell ... kinda."

Aikuen looks to Amy and smiles, "Well that is good to hear, He has obviously taken a shine to you... Just don't hurt him in anyway okay?" Yes he is telling the beast, that he just meet, that 'it is okay, but if you hurt him, I'll kill you' type of thing. He chuckles and yells, "Well try not to make a bigger mess, Will!"

Curious Amethyst smiles and asks, "And if I do hurt him?"

Will returns from the storage chamber carrying a blue blanket he'd found, it's in good condition but a little dusty.

Aikuen slams his fist on the book and says, "Then I'll make sure it is the last thing you will ever do on this fine earth... Oh..." He sees Will come out, and curses to himself, "Damnit..." He stands up abruptly and makes for the entrance with his book, hoping Will didn't hear him threaten his new friend. But he doesn't care, she needs to know what will happened. And as his father, he will most likely do it too.

Amethyst smirks as the otter leaves.

Will blinks and groans, "Amethyst, what did you /say/ to him?!"

Amethyst turns to face Will, "I like your father. He's fun to tease. Did you find anything?"

Will sighs and rubs his temples, "You /really/ shouldn't bother him." He hands the blanket to her, "It's blue ... you sure you can handle a knife? Wouldn't it be better if someone else cut it out for you instead?"

Amethyst rolls her eyes, "I can handle a knife just fine for what I'll need it for. I've done this before, a helper would just get in the way." She fingers the blanket a little, smiling "What kind of blue?"

Will sighs, "If you say so ..." He opens one of her paws and places a pair of scissors in it, "Would these work any better?"

Amethyst takes the scissors, her stick is again in the crook of her arm, "Yes they /will/, should have said something sooner. Now if you /don't/ mind ..." she holds out her staff toward him.

Will chuckles a little and takes her walking stick in one paw and takes her arm on his good side to guide her to the study so she can work in peace without causing too much trouble. Once inside he leans her stick by the door and leave her to stand guard at her request.

Moledeep: Foremole's Study

In the study Amethyst moves a chair to block he door so no beast can come in then she removes the sleeves of her rag dress and tears out the seams on them to use as patterns for her new dress. She takes a small medical kit out of her bag, which appears to be made of whatever her old dress is made of. She tries on the cut out pieces of cloth before sewing them to make sure they'll fit her. Once the pieces are all cut out and the right size she starts sewing them together. She's pricked her fingers so often with the needle that it doesn't bother her anymore though it still hurts.

Will is still guarding the door, but Amethyst has been in the study a long time. He sits down by the door and is soon dozing peacefully.

Hours pass and the dress takes shape under the maid's care, it fits much better than her last one did. Now done and wearing her new dress Amethyst packs up her things and unblocks the door, stepping over Will as she opens the door. She carries her old dress out with her planing to lay it outside on the grass to dry out in the sun.

Moledeep: Mole Hall

While dozing, Will had slid down til he hit the floor which woke him up. He rubs his face as Amethyst steps over him and into the hall. He sits up and looks around, his eye falls on the rat-maid as usual, "Wow. How'd you do that with just a blanket and scissors?" he asks dumbfounded.

Amethyst smirks not minding being stared at for once, "Wouldn't you like to know." Then she laughs saying, "I said I'd done this before." She blushes a little feeling his eye still on her, "You like it?"

Will nods stupidly before squeaking out, "Y-yes. You-you look amazing!"

Amethyst laughs, "Well, I'd rather be 'amazing' than 'beautiful'. ... Is it really that good?"

Will grins, "You're beautiful and amazing. You look like you're wearing part of the sky."

Amethyst grins, "Really? Well this place does need windows ... hey look," she feels around and finds a wall and stands with her back to it, "Look at me I'm a window!"

Will laughs, "Sure you are. ... You want t go outside? ... maybe we can find you another flower. Your other one kinda got dead and then lost ... /in th river/."

Amethyst nods. "Oh did it? I /wonder how that happened/. Come on, bet I can make it to th rose garden before you can!" she starts off stick once more in paw, already tapping against the red door of the entrance tunnel.
