The Good, the Bad, and the ugly backstabbing Rat

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Drakki and his group of Kanezzer rats meet up with some resistance on the road way.

Just another winter day in Mossflower, and most beasts are traveling very well bundled up if they're traveling at all. However, the exception to this is a rather young looking hare dressed as though he is walking around in summer. His fur is a smooth black, and he walks casually down the road without a care in the world.

Off to the side of the road way a group of beasts sits in a small ditch out of sight from passerby's. There are three rats and one very bored looking fox. Life has been good to Drakki so far. A creature of the feast the young red furred vulpine is starting to bulge like his late predecessor. The fox may hate leadership, but he does admit the perks are well worth the work involved. Next to him there is a young brown furred rat, Leroy. An equally meaty beast with a scowl on his face, the very same one he wears when ever he is around the fox. The rat is peering out at the road when he turns suddenly and whispers, "Look alive, we have a live one."

So far, the hare has not noticed anything out of the ordinary, but then again, that tends to happen when one as sprightly and happy as Carroll comes strolling down the road like he has nowhere to be. His muscular legs carry him effortlessly at a kind of weird hopskip step, signaling his guard is completely down

The pudgy vulpin rolls his eyes his fellow rat. "Do you not realize how you sound using the same word twice in one sentence?" Rolling his eyes the fox gestures to the rats next to him. Unlike Leroy or even Drakki, these rats look like the real deal vermin. Both are lean, mean, fighting machines. The grey furred rat missing one ear, wearing a brown squirrel leather vest and trouser's, and the brown furred rat with a missing tail wearing a red cloth tunic get up from thier resting place. Tod and Crosstooth don't waste time with formalities. They let their spiked clubs do the talking as they rush out of the bushes snarling warcries at the hare and attack him

Carroll's head snaps towards the sound, and his fists tighten. His hopskip step ends on his right footpaw, and he pivots, letting his left leg snap out straight at Tod's head. Regardless of whether or not he makes contact, his leg retracts, and he does a small hop into the air, letting his right leg come around in a kick towards Crosstooth's head.

Drakki raises an eyebrow when he hears Leroy gasp, "Um...boss?" The fox crawls up out of the ditch and groans as he sees both rats stumble backward from their blows. Tod drops his weapon to clutch at his broken snout, falling to his knees as he does. Crosstooth stumbles to the side and quickly gets up, backpedaling away from the hare with a bruise to his temple. The brown furred rat shakes his head clear of dizziness before charging again, swinging his club at the hare's legs.

Carroll jumps yet again, but this time he does not kick. Instead, he lets himself hit the ground again, watching the heavy club swing by. With a small grunt, his right fist shoots out like a rocket, followed quickly by his left fist, both aimed for Crosstooth's muzzle.

Crosstooth's head snaps back twice. He pauses to stare at the hare, eyes blinking once or twice. He begins to waver back and forth and stumbles backward onto his stump of a tail not quite knocked out but certainly close to it. Tod is still laying on the ground crying over a broken snout. Drakki shakes his head, "You lot are about as useless as a bag of fleas..." The fox lifts him self out of the ditch followed by a nervous looking Leroy. The young rat wears a belt of knives over his open blue cloth vest. Somewhere under his wide pot belly the rat wears an otter hide belt with dark brown trousers. Drakki draws his short sword from behind the small of his back as he walks. "Top of the morning. Sorry about the mess. Just can't quite seem to find good help these days can we?" Leroy cautiously draws his own short sword.

Carroll's scowl darkens, and a swift kick to the downed Crosstooth's chin hopefully knocks him out. Stepping over Crosstooth, he cracks his paw knuckles casually. "It certainly seems that way vermin." He says the word 'vermin' as though it were a curse, spitting it out like a bad carrot. "Now here's another question. Why are you lot out here preying on innocent travelers?" His tone sounds quite innocent, though it hides a burning hate underneath.

The hare no longer has to fear the wrath of the unconscious Crosstooth. Drakki can't say he isn't dissapointed in how easily his minions were defeated. The fox's shoulder droop and he whines, "Aw man...you are one of those violently peaceful woodlander types, arn't you?" This is turning out to be much more trouble than its worth, "Look mate, I can't exactly return back to camp empty pawed, even worse getting beat by a single hare. Kanezzer would have my hide for it. So how about we both do each other a favor and just toss down your valuables, and you can just walk away." The rat behind him grits his teeth. How did this fat and flabby coward ever get to be in charge of him? Of course he is a coward too but, hey, that's no excuse for his leader being one!

Carroll raises an eyebrow. "You just expect me to let you try to rob me, and then just get away with it?!" He takes another step foward, his green eyes slowly beginning to show a bit of the anger underneath. "Maybe if you both leave now, I wont have to kill either of you."

Drakki rubs the back of his neck and casts his head back into another whine, "Of course everyone wants to do things the hard way..." He nods to Leroy behind him. "Leroy, I'll take him from the front, you take him from below." With that the fox dashes forward. He swings once at the hares neck. Leroy for his part...stands off to the side, sword drawn but not yet advancing on the beast.

Carroll simply ducks under the sword swing, and a hard fist shoots out to connect with Drakki's abdomen hard, a scowl on the hare's face.

The hare is obviously quicker than the fox, and the fox is obviously slower than a few months ago. Drakki gasps as the blow connects. He stumbles backward for a moment, "You...really know how to throw a punch hare..." But the fox knows how to sword fight. He comes again slashing twice this time, and upper cut with his blade and then reverses the blade, making a deadly figure 8 pattern attacked aimed at his chest. Leroy creeps along behind the fox, getting ready for his moment to strike.

Drakki grins wickedly as he steps to the side, his enemies flying by by a haris width. Now with the hare between them both Drakki shouts, "Get him Leroy!" The rat acts! He charges the hare as he lands and...runs right by him. He shouts a snarl as he charges toward Drakki aiming to run his blade right through his fat gut. The fox yelps as he deflects the blow upward, catching him in the top of the shoulder, "What are you DOING!" The fox yells as he locks blades with what he thought to be his comrade.

Carroll hits the ground hard, turning around to witness two allies fighting each other. His first reaction is one of confusion, and he simply watches for the moment. Perhaps these two will do him a favor and kill each other for him.

"I'm doing the horde a favor!" THe rat practically foams at the mouth at he yells at Drakki, "You're a lzy, no good for nothing scoundral that killed Bilk!" He forgets to mention that Drakki is a fox, one who is taller and able to quickly over power the rat by kicking him in the knee and then punching him with the hilt of his blade. Leroy falls to the ground and quickly turns tail. His bravery spent he dashes off into the bushes, leaving the wounded fox behind.

Carroll sighs, beginning to walk towards the fox. Of course he has to deal with the leftovers of another fight. "Do you see how bad of an idea this was, fox?" He asks lightly, his eyes looking down at Drakki mercelessly.

One paw clutching at his wound the other holding his sword shakily Drakki realizes that a serious dissadvantage has been given him AGAIN by a traitorous rat. "You can say that again!" The vulpine looks like he is about to charge at the hare but instead turns tail like his formal allie and dashes off into the bushes and away from the terrifying hare, leaving Cross tooth knocked out and Tod in horrible pain.

Carroll chuckles lightly, turning and walking off, doing a small jump in the air and executing a thunderous roundhouse to the side of Tod's face before he continues his path down the road, humming happily to himself.

Drakki (me)

Drakki Crosstooth is at first glance your average looking fox. He is about the average height if a bit over weight with common red fur. The fox's fangs hang exposed at the end of his unusually long snout. His ears are also longer than usual with a small notch missing from the middle of his right ear. His eyes are small with and gold colored.

The fox's pelt is composed of long light red fur, giving Drakki a soft and fluffy look. Starting at his chin however a patch of white fur begins to run down his neck and spreads out across his chest, it narrows a bit again but flairs out to encircle his gut. The fur of his paws are black as are the tips of his ears. The tip of his tail is white save for the very end which is graced with black fur.

While in good health one does not become a horde beast with out gaining a few scars. The most noticeable is the scar across his left shoulder blade.

One does not also keep a poor diet and expect to stay trim and sleek. Due to simple glut the fox has grown rather thick, most notable is the sizable chunk of flesh wrapped around his protruding middle. While obviously out of shape the fox is still far from what others would call obese, and still far from pleasantly plump as well.

The fox wears little in the way of clothing. A pair of dirty tan breeches rests upon his legs with one knee torn out. They are held up by a squirrel leather belt with a brass buckle. The fox also wears white cloth wrappings across his hand and foot paws up to his ankles and elbows. He leaves the claws of his paws open and exposed.

As for weapons Drakki makes do with the short sword strapped sideways across the small of his back. A simple double bladed sword with a deep blood gutter and small metal hilt with Celtic designs. He also has a small iron dirk with a wide triangle blade and made for stabbing rather than slashing.

Leroy (me/ zombie)

Leroy is a simple rat. He is in his 11th season and covered in brown furred. He wears a knife filled bandoleer over his sleeveless blue furred vest. The buttons have long fallen off the vest leaving his chest exposed, not that he could button it anyway these days. A rich diet has made this young rat richly fat and well rounded with thick rolls of flesh. Somewhere under his large pot belly the rat wears an otter hide belt holding up his dark brown trousers and the short sword at his side.

Carroll

Carroll is a rather young looking hare of a black color and bright green eyes. His muscular form is clothed in sky blue robes that fit tightly on him so as to not flow and cause him to fall. The robes, of course, only go to his waist, and below that is a pair of dark blue trousers that flow down only a little past his knees. He is armed with nothing visible, but his arms look rather muscled, suggesting that he may be a paw to paw fighter. His eyes look fiercely at any targets he may have, but when he is in the company of friends, his green eyes are quite friendly, warm even.
