The Challenge- end of the line

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Dylan and Rorgan come to the end of the wagon and carraige chase. Which the thieves live long enough to claim their prize?

The rat takes a step backward and lets the beast leap onto the wagon before lashing out at him savagely with his serreated cutlass. Meanwhile dylan has entered into a sort of boxing match with the bandit fox while the remaining guard fights with the hare, both trying to keep eachother from plunging a knife into each others heart.

Rorgan swiftly leans his entire body to one side, crossing his daggers to make a path that the cutlass crashes into, only inches from his chest. The otter then takes a step forward, smashing his shoulder straight into the rat's chest roughly, attempting to knock the rat straight off the wagon.

The rat bumps into the hare behind him as he stumbles backward, sending the beast hurtling off the edge of the wagon. His scream of shock and terror is quickly cut short from his violent meeting with the ground below him. The rat hisses at the otter and swings once, twice, thrice in his direction.

The otter only ducks the first swing, blocks the second swing, and on the third swing, stabs his dagger straight into the wrist of the arm swinging the cutlass, moving closer to the rat so that if the weapon is dropped, it doesn't end up hitting him.

The rat snarles in pain as the cutlass falls from his grasp. "Not again!" He swings his hook down towards Rorgans shoulder. Behind them Dylan is punching the daylights out of the bandit fox. He looks up to see that the beasts pulling the wagon have dissapeared and they are slowly drifting away from the carraige. Such an odd sight he thinks, until he sees the deep reviene up ahead. They are on a run away wagon!

Rorgan screams out in pain as the hook pierces his shoulder, cutting straight through skin and muscle. Fortunately, his uninjured shoulder is also attatched to the arm holding his free dagger, and he takes this rather painful opportunity to thrust it straight into the gut of the rat, snarling in pain and satisfaction as he does.

The rat's eyes widen with shock then narrow as a last bit of adrenolin kicks over. Fueled by pure hatred the rat begins to twists the hook in the otters shoulder, "It...looks like we are both dining in the dark forrest tonight otter!" He gestures with his head towards the approaching cliff side. It is impossible to tell exactly how deep the cliff is but reguardless, crashing on a run away wagon will NOT be fun. "Jump for it!" the guard vulpine shouts as he leaps over the side.

Rorgan's face contorts in pain as the hook twists painfully in his shoulder, and in return, he twists the dagger embedded in the rat's stomach. "Dark forest will have t' wait fer me, rat," He hisses in reply before pulling his dagger straight up through the stomach of the rat before headbutting him, breaking his grip on the hook and sending him off the edge. Turning with the hook still sitting in his shoulder, he runs along the wagon's length and jumps, coming to a rather painful landing as he hits the roof of the carriage and crashes onto his side, causing him to let out another scream of pain.

The carriage turns to the left letting the wagon fly off the edge. Dylan jumps right at the last moment as teh wagon colides with a tree and spins in the air as it begins to roll down the hill of grass, trees, and shrubs. It disintigrates into splinters on the way down. The lizard clings to the side of the wagon like a bat. He clammers up quickly enough then offers his paw down to the otter, trying to grib him by a..."Bleedin heck is that a hook in your arm?" he says before trying to pull him up

Rorgan grimaces in pain as the lizard helps him up, nodding. "Aye..." He mutters, positively exhausted. "That driver decided he couldn't part with me when I stuck a dagger in his gut, so he gave me a return gift." In spite of his attempt at humor, the otter is really actually in a lot of pain, which shows through the expression on his face and the stumbling way he attempts to move.

Which Dylan seems to ignor completely. "Here, maybe this will help." He says as he grips the hook firmly and yanks it out in one quick pull. "Throw some dirt on it. We have work to do. I'll stop the cart you grab the chest."

Rorgan screams loudly as the hook is pulled out, and the pain seems to be a bit much for him. The otter simply falls to one knee, breathing in ragged gasps of burning pain, unable to even form a sentence through the blinding pain. All he can really do is sit there for a moment, trying to think and see straight for the time being.

May or may not have heard Dylan shouting for the ferrets pulling the carraige to stop. What he said to them, with out weapons or threatening demeaner is lost to the otters scream but manages to get the beasts to slow down to a gradual stop. Turning to Rorgan once again the lizard grins deviously, "Ready to collect our reward mate?" He sees the otter in obvious pain and tilts his head to the side, "Something wrong Rorgan?"

Rorgan finally musters up the strength to stand, and he eyes Dylan with a mixture of pain and annoyance. "No," He mutters, this time sounding a little peeved. "I'm just fine, thankee." His voice cuts off slightly in a small groan of pain, but he shakes his head. "Let's get our reward.." He says finally after several long moments.
