From Redwall MUCK Wiki

I briefly got on as Lorimis…. A short little Role-play where Zinnia shows off the newly fixed up Library to Lorimis, then has to help Lorimis to his room after he briefly passes out. Lorimis promises to take it easy and that he is fine, but deep down he is far from fine… Enjoy!

Also This ICLY happen Tueday right after lunch!

RW Abbey: Library

The library is disturbingly empty of books and scrolls, and only a small fraction of the knowledge it should be able to hold is actually present and available for perusing. The beautifully crafted windows are well cleaned. Giving the library plenty of light during the daylight hours. This, combined with the room's high vaulted ceiling, causes a rather foreboding play of shadows in the corners and between shelves. The flagstones of the floor are cool and smooth, and echoes of clicks and thumps can be heard quite clearly when beasts walk among the mostly bare shelves. Brass lamps containing short, fat little white candles provide enough light for reading.

The world outside the high windows is dark. Flickering candles keep the library lit, and throw odd shadows on the walls.

Abbey Charter

Zinnia smiles as she has finally got the library all done up and dusted, books fixed and on the shelves and shelves even fixed with some help. The room looks a lot better than it has in a long while and it seriously needed spring cleaning.

Unfortunately, the dibbun prone to mischief and disaster, has just gotten up from her nap. She tumbles into the library and looks around; her eyes settle on Zinnia and she gives a small wave, "Hullo!"

Zinnia looks over at the small mouse and smiles, "Oh hello there young one, how are you today?"

Aveelia shrugs and flops down on the floor, gesturing widely with her paws, which causes her habit sleeves to fall over them, "I dunno. It okay, I guess. Tudday is baf day." She raises her lip in disgust, though she hasn't quite mastered the look, so it turns into more of a showing of little white teeth. She looks curiously at the badger, "You been in here all day?"

Zinnia smiles at the dibbun, "Yes I have, I am fixing up the library and I am finally done, course I had help. It’s a surprise for Abbot Lorimis. The spring cleaning of the library." With help she has organized the books, scrolls, and some papers. Had the shelves fixed and everything is in an ABC order and order by type of subject as well. She has even fixed up some book backings and spines and places them on the shelves and did a LOT of dusting and moping. It took a season but it’s done and looks wonderful. Some books are still being mended but she is working on getting those on the shelves. The backroom is even very clean and organized as well. Books were found in the attic and some from Ferravale were added that the Ferravale beast had maybe two copies of something so gave Redwall one of the copies for the Redwall library, all in all a lot of hard work has done wonders for the library. She even has a table displaying the charter for all to see under a glass case she had someone make. Some soft chairs are in the room, some small and some large and a couple badger size too, a couple other tables are here as well and a couple oil lamps and candles for light. The library hasn’t looked this good in seasons!

Lorimis walks slowly into the library with his cane and smiles "Wow..this is incredible Zinnia, and a very nice surprise." He coughs a couple times and leans on his cane. He looks thinner than he should and very frail today and he also missed lunch earlier, but did finally eat an apple after some pleading from an order member.

The small dibbun mouse has fallen asleep and a novice whom had been watching her picks her up and takes her back to the dibbun quarters quietly.

Zinnia turns and smiles "Abbot Lorimis, yes it was to be a surprise at the feast for you, but guess it’s a little late. I had a lot of help but the library I think looks great and someone even helped repair the shelves and the tables as well and look" She shows the charter, " A glass case to help keep the charter safe, clean and not dusty."

Lorimis smiles, this has brightened his day that’s for sure, "You have done a most..wonderful job Sister Zinnia, the whole abbey should be proud.." He stops to cough roughly and sways just a little on his footpaws as he clears his throat" Proud of you..sorry this cough, seems to have gotten worse from earlier today."

Zinnia steps forward looking worried "Are you ok Abbot Lorimis? Do you need help back to your room or should I get Brother Leon?" Concern is in her voice.

Lorimis shoos her back , "I am fine Sister Zinnia and please no..Brother Leon has been treating me like a dibbun the past couple days, he..." He coughs roughly again and frowns "He doesn’t need to know everything, he has been annoying..." He coughs for a good few minutes and shakily sits down slowly in a chair beside him.

Zinnia quickly goes over to him, "That cough sounds bad, maybe I should go get Leon....please Lorimis..let me"

Lorimis shakes his head "No!" He yells quiet forceably and stands, a little too fast and lets out a weak groan as he passes out, it's only for a brief minute or two and he will come around again opening his eyes slowly.

RW Abbey: Abbot's Chambers

The Abbot's chambers are a warm cozy set of rooms on the ground floor of the Abbey. The main chamber has large airy lead-lined windows that look out over the Open Ground of the abbey and beyond that the fields were they grow their crops.

The furniture in this initial chamber consists of a large desk and two bookcases by the windows. There are a pair of comfortable arm-chairs set up before the snug fire-place and a couple of chests tucked beneath an expansive side-board.

There are two doors off this central chamber, one leads into the Abbot's simple yet comfortable bed-chamber. Large well-made wooden bed, wardrobe, pegs for hanging items on and a small chair positioned by a small fireplace with a wash-stand in one corner. The other door is always kept locked and the Abbot likes to keep it a mystery as to what is in there.

Exits: [Hall]way

“Abbot Lorimis!" She rushes forward and catches him, she frowns and quickly gets him to the best place she can think of, his room and lays him down on his bed. Luckily most beasts are out and about doing chores or cleaning up after lunch. She looks at a passing order Brother, "Brother Mike..find Leon..find Brother Leon and tell him to come here."

Lorimis opens his eyes and coughs, but sits up "No..need I simply..lost my balance I am fine I don’t want Brother Leon or anyone fussing over me" His voice is weak and tried.

Zinnia frowns worried "You passed out..you should rest, rest is good"

Lorimis smiles faintly "I..can't rest I have things to do " He coughs a little "To..do that need done.." He sits up and gets his cane as he sits there refusing to rest when he clearly should rest.. "I just need to sit a short while, then I will be fine..ok, I didn’t get much sleep past couple days and could just be I am tried..nothing...nothing more Sister Zinnia, please go on and I thank you for fixing the library it was a wonder thing to see."

Zinnia manages a smile and hugs the abbot, "I...your welcome Lorimis but please take it easy..ok?"

Lorimis nods "Of course..." But will he? Is the abbot fibbing to her?

Zinnia smiles and quietly leaves, she does have a class with the older dibbuns to teach after all.

Lorimis watches her leave and slowly stands leaning heavily on his cane as he looks to the doorway. He then coughs so bad it shakes his frail body like a leaf and he lays his paw on his forehead and slowly sits back down on his bed. He will sit there for maybe an hour before he gets slowly up and heads to the hall slowly...should he be up and about?...Probably not!'
