The Abbey Group Departs! - Camp Willow

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Characters: Aibne, Nicholas, DoraRose, Zephyr

Mid-morning, overcast skies, probably will clear away by lunch. Zephyr is standing at the edge of the main grounds under the roof of the Swaying Reed Tavern, watching the party from the abbey prep to leave. It's all chaos and hubbub as bags are hustled and beasts are loaded. Calm, Zephyr is holding a bowl of blueberries and eats them like popcorn, one at a time. She has nothing else to do this morning except watch these guys leave and then...well, deal with whatever else comes up. Ah yes, it's a good day.

Nicholas jumps down from the tree he had slept in, landing next to Zephyr. He looks over at the Abbey group getting ready to go, then turns to the otter. "Oi, where exactly are t'ey 'eadin'? Oh, an', did ya sleep well?"

DoraRose is busy tryign to corrall 2 hyperactive young beasts. True, Blisa is an adult now, but she still acts like a young adult. Ferdinand the ferret and Valerie the vixen are tryign to get the cat to come over to the group while the Warrior chases LilyMoore, but the heir to Ferravale isn't listenign right now. Everything's packed, and she's bored, so why not play a spontanious game of tag with her friend? The cat and the mouse run past the Skipper and the squirrel, and Dora pauses next to them, leanign on her knees. She left her axe with the bodyguards, but she still has her bastard sword (with its blue cat's-eye pommel stone) strapped ot her side.

Zephyr still has food in her mouth and so doesn't answer right away, choosing instead to swallow her blueberries first. "Well, by the looks of things, not very far." She throws a few more blueberries into her mouth and passively chews and swallows before answering. "An' yes, I did sleep quite soundly. You?"

Aibne steps onto the path and yawns as he looks around, yeah he is tired but still alert enough.

Nicholas smiles. "Better t'an I did back 'ome, ta tell ya t'e truth. Stayin' 'alf asleep, just waitin' fer a group o' soldiers ta pass by... Oi, are ya stayin' 'ere, t'en? Not goin' with 'em?"

DoraRose has no idea to whom the squirrel was talking to, and she doesn't really care because she has her breath back. She stands up as tall as she can and shouts, "LILYMOORE LOUISE! Get back with the caravan, or so help me...!" Lily slinks back to where the bodyguards are, looking ashamed. Blisa follows and promptly gets into an argument with Ferdinand. The mouse mother rubs her forehead and says, "Sorry. That's my daughter. She usually listens better than that…"

"No. Got enough work to do here." Zeph says to the squirrel. "Aren't /you/ goin' with 'em?" Raise eyebrows, throw blueberry into mouth. Dora speaks and Zephyr laughs, squirrel momentarily forgotten. She swallows the blueberry. "Aye...that's dibbuns for ya." More blueberries. More chewing. "Where y'all headed?"

Aibne looks around for a dibbun himself and sighs, "Yeah me sister loves this place and likes ta run around herself but least she stay in camp where tis safe"

Nicholas says, "Oi, t'at's right. But, don't worry, I can catch up if t'ey leave without me. Oi! I still need ta talk ta t'e Abbot!" He turns to Zephyr. "An' ya still need ta talk ta t'at otter 'bout 'ow 'e treated me friend."

DoraRose sighs. "She's usually pretty responsible, but today she's just......a pain. yeah. Let's go witht hat." She obviously wants to say more, but she refrains and instead answers the otter's question. "The sandstone quarry. That's where the Summer Feast is beign held." Lily is tall for a 6-season-old, while Blisa is short for a 9-season-old, and yet they make the perfect duo of friends. Fortunatly for Ferdinand and Valerie, they are staying in 1 place for now.

"Sure, squirrel, I'll get right on that." Zephyr lies as she makes herself comfortable against one of the porch's columns. "Ah yes, the summer feast. Y'all meeting up with others from the Abbey there?"

Aibne sits on a log nearby "I heard of the feast, not intrested as its for de abbey for the most part. And I am too busy here anyways fishing, gathering food, getting some of taht willow bark from de downed willow tree and watching me sister Mint"

Nicholas turns to look at Dora. "Oi, are ya from t'e Abbey, t'en? Oh, me name's Nicholas, by t'e way. Nicholas McInally, o' t'e McInally clan." He resumes his attention to Zephyr, and nods. "Good ta 'ear."

DoraRose smiles slightly and extends a paw to the squirrel in a friendly way. "DoraRose Strongheart. Yes, I live at the Abbey. My husband is the Master Healer there, actually." She looks at the skipper. "Well, some of the beasts, at least. I'm sure my Grandmother will have to stay behind in Redwall; the Abbot left her in charge of the Infirmary while my husband took a little vacation with the Processional." She smiles at the sea otter. "Redwallers can be rather overwhelming sometimes, can't they? I'm sorry if anybeast from my home has been bothering you."

Aibne shrgs but says nothing on that subject he just stays seated on the tree stump thats here.

Zephyr has finished her blueberries, unfortunately. She shakes the little bowl and rattles the leftover stems. "Well, 'ave a safe trip then, mate. Y'all headed back to the abbey after the feast?"

Nicholas smiles and shakes her paw. "Nice ta meet ya, DoraRose. Oi, I guess I'll just follow ya, t'en, when ya leave. I need ta talk ta t'e Abbot- oi! I should also make sure Castus is okay, too. Do ya know 'I'm?"

DoraRose looks at the ceilign of branches as she thinks. "Castus....Castus....I'm not sure. I don't think so. Is he a squirrel like yourself?" She glances at the Skipper and says, "As far as I know, yes." She looks ot the caravan to see if they're leavign yet. She has no intention of gettign left behind! She can't fidn her way around Mossflower worth spit.

Zephyr has all of the information she wants and needs to return the bowl to the kitchen. Sighing, she stands up straight and dumps the blueberry remains over the edge of the porch. Since the mouse and the squirrel have a pretty good conversation thing going, the Skipper takes her leave with very little fanfare and exits the conversation quite possibly before anyone relizes she was leaving.

Aibne watches as the skipper heads off and yawns, he looks curiously over towards the abbey group thats getting ready to leave as he had hoped to maybe see someone before they left but if not, thats ok with him.

Nicholas nods. "'E's a squirrel." He nods towards Zephyr in aknowledgement of her leaving, then returns his attention to DoraRose. "Any idea when t'ey're leavin'?"

DoraRose watches the Skipper of the otters head off as she shrugs. "I honestly have no idea. I'm just waiting for everyone to start moving out of the Camp, and then my little group will follow."

Aibne decides to ask something "Ya seen a otter named Silverstorm, she seemed...upset last night lass"

Nicholas says, "Oi, t'en I guess we should just be ready ta move whenever t'ey do." He looks at Aibne. "I don't t'ink so... 'Ey, wait...ain't ya t'at otter t'at was talkin' ta Flick an' I?"

DoraRose nods in aggreement with the squirrel, then turns and looks at the otter, smiling slightly. "No, I don't think I've seen her yet today. What made her upset?"

Aibne frowns "I am not...real sure, seemed to think no one liked her, tried ta chat and she sort of pushed me away and run off."

Nicholas blinks. "Oi, t'at doesn't sound too good... When did ya last see 'er?"

Aibne frowns "Last night in de Mess Hall..may fo look for her so talk later" He heads off, he most likely wont find her as...well seems she hated his guts last night.

Aibne has Disconnected

DoraRose frowns and 'hmms', tapping her chin with a finger. "She seems to think nobeast likes her? I wonder what happened to makeher think that...?"

Nicholas shrugs. "I dunno... Oi, I t'ink maybe we should 'ead out."

DoraRose nods, Fortunatly, the caravan is finally under way now, and the Warrior heads towards them, waving for the squirrel to follow.
