Terrified love
Characters: Kentar, Robin, Garnet, Will
Location: Moledeep Rose Garden
Screams fill the area around moledeep tonight, the cries of pain and agony and the sound of a whip joining them. Tied to a tree without a tunic is Robin, the dibbun's back and sides all bloody from the cracks of a whip that Kentar holds. The stoat just whips the young dibbun repeatedly, torturing the thing for everything he's done to Garnet, and himself. "I will teach you...to never...make...me angry...again!"
Garnet walks slowly into the rose garden. After making sure Chris was safe and sound, and well hidden. She needed to know about Kentar. She just had too. She hears the screams that surrounds the area, and it alarms her. She is still very frighten, and she shakes uncontrollably as she picks up one of the otters many javelins. Garnet cant fight at all with any weapons, but mess with her husband, and the claws come out. She enters the area, and what she sees, she stops and clutches her stomach. She moves off into a nearby bush, to vomit. Keeping a paw on her stomach she diverts her gaze from what she sees to hear what's is going on, "Why...Kentar... Kenny..." she mumbles quietly to herself. And she starts to play with her ring.
Robin screams out and cries as he begs. "Stop it! Please! I'll do anything! please!!" Kentar growls and cracks the whip over and over again before finally stopping, dropping it and going over to the young stoat, not knowing Garnet is here. "If you ever, ever...threaten my family, my wife, or my sons, again. I will do more then whip you." he growls, breaking the stoat's arm before untying him and giving him a good kick in the ribs. "I promised my brother I'd watch you and keep you safe. And from this point on I will. But remember my words."
Garnet vomits again at the arm break. Then she listens to what the stoat, known as Kentar, is saying. She blinks a few times and tilts her head. She takes off her ring, and places it in her tunic. she is thinking the worst at the moment.
Kentar hears something and then looks around. "Hello?" he asks. After looking around closely he see's Garnet. Robin, at this point, has passed out. "Oh no..." he says quietly, slowly going over to her. 'Love...I..."
Garnet stands up quickly and wipes the sick from her mouth. She punches the stoat in the stomach. Its not much, but she is letting out her anger, "DON'T YOU 'LOVE' ME... I..." she looks away from him, "I see what you did... And even if he did deserve it..." She turns back to him, with anger written on her face, "THAT'S NO REASON TOO... " She claps her head as she cant believes what she is about to do. She takes the ring from her pocket and tosses it at Kentar, "As of this moment... Through..." and she storms off toward Moledeep. Going to her room and locking the door. Chris is her only family for now.
Kentar oofs and topples over. In his state, it hurt more then anything. The ring hits him on his head and he blinks. "Garnet! Wait! Please!" he begs and when she's gone, he takes the ring in his paws, and curls into a ball, sobbing. His life is ruined. All because Bale had to come back to try and get him to join them. He doesn't move, and for right now, he's lost the will to live, having lost something he never wanted to lose again. His wife.
Kentar has since moved since Garnet left him, the stoat now leaning against the tree Robin was tied to. He had moved the young stoat to the infirmary and bandaged him up but is now sitting in the garden, the ring in his paws, staring at it absently.
Will walks over from the dibbuns garden wet from the pond. He waves at the stoat as he comes closer not knowing about what had happened.
Kentar doesn't notice Will at all, the stoat staring into the rings, thinking to himself.
Will frowns a little as the stoat doesn't respond but thinks he just didn't see him. "Hi, Kentar," he says as he comes even closer.
Kentar doesn't bother to look up. "What could you possibly want right now?"
Will pausing thinking on what to say, still dripping wet from swimming. He looks over the stoat closely. He can tell something's wrong but doesn't know what til he notices the rings in his brother's paws. ".... What are you doing?" he asks. One ring he could understand, Garnet being upset after what had happened with Bale he can understand ... but why two rings?
One was Kentar's. That's the second ring there. He moves them around in his paws slowly. "Why can't I do anything right Will?" he asks, looking up. "Why is it that all the beasts I've ever loved more then life itself, leave me?" He asks. "Lanai...Garnet." he sighs and throws them onto the ground, the rings bouncing as he sets his head into his paws for a few moments, looking to the skies after. "What is it about me that makes everything bad happen?" he asks
The rat sits down next to the stoat, wet as he is. He chews on his lip a little and shrugs, "I don't know. .... What happened with Bale upset her. That's all I know about it."
Kentar sighs. "Its not what happened with Bale, its what I did to Robin afterwards." he explains. 'I tied him up out here and whipped him till he was about to die. Then I broke his arm and kicked him in the ribs. Garnet saw me, and well. That was the end of our love I guess. Well. The end of her love for me."
"Why did you tied him up? If he's still alive it can't be that bad, can it?" Will asks.
Kentar sighs. "It doesn't matter. Its not that he's a live. Its what I did. And I did what I did to protect my family from anything else. Robin is just as trained as his father is...was."
Will says, "You did it to protect your family. That's better than doing it for revenge or just t protect yourself and no one else. But beasts need t not use th rose garden for tying up an torturing beasts anymore. That's not what it's for. Yes you did something bad but you aren't th only one that's done bad things."
Kentar looks to Will. "But I'm the only one to have suffered any repercussions of my actions." he's fighting back tears. "I guess I'll do what I did the last time I lost my wife." he stands up slowly.
Will isn't sure what 'repercussions' means but he's able to make sense of 'suffer' and 'for my actions' just fine and is sure the stoat is wrong. "She's not dead. .... What are you gonna do? Kentar?" Will asks warily half expecting the stoat to try and do something stupid.
Kentar sighs and places the rings into Will's paws. "I'm going to leave. Find a new place to live in the lands. And start over. Again." he replies quietly. "Thanks for being my brother Will. You've. Meant a lot to me." he smiles a little.
Will blinks, "Wait! What about Chris an Kluna?! You can't just leave."
Kentar sighs. "At this point, I doubt Garnet will ever let me near Chris again. And probably same for Kluna." he scratches his ear.
Will assumes this means she took them with her or at least took Chris. "If you leave it'll just be me an Amy and Racky here." He doesn't meantion Kluner since he thinks that if Garnet didn't take him Kentar surely will if he leaves. "Pa an Stepmum won't be back for a while still. What are we supposed t tell them when they ask where you are .... where all of you are?" the dibbun asks with ears drooping. He doesn't want his big brother to leave, not like this.
Kentar sighs. "Look, Will. I know you don't want me to leave, but I can't stay here anymore. The love of my life is terrified of me, I don't think I could ever look either of my son's in the eye. And I killed my brother to protect something I was scared I'd lose that I lost anyways."
Will sighs, "Will you ever come back to see us? What am I supposed t tell th otters when they ask where all our stoats and our weasel went?"
Kentar shrugs. "They're more then likely staying." He says quietly. "Look. When they come back. You can tell them I was killed by Robin in the attack that hurt him so badly." He says. "That way, my past can't come back to me again."
Will nods while chewing on his lower lip again, he just thought of something. "You don't think Robin'll tell them what really happened? Pa would not like it if he found out I'd lied t him. ... Said he wouldn't miss next time."
Kentar sighs a little. "Robin would tell them just to get his tail saved. Which is why I will take Robin with me. Leave him at the abbey. Then go." he thinks quietly. "Will. Why did Garnet leave me?"
Will chews on his lip more, "If you take Robin with you I can't say he killed you cause it'd look like he ran off after killing you and Pa might go after him, Abbey or not. He might now though cause of Stepmum but you never know." He shrugs a little helplessly at the stoat's question, "How would I know? I guess she was scared cause of what Bale did and then of what you did t him after. He was your brother .... by blood anyway. ..... Guess which you an Garnet gone I'll be in charge again. Shouldn't be too hard with just th three of us and it'll only be til Pa an Stepmum get back .... whenever that is. I can't /make/ you stay. Hope things'll be better for you wherever you're going."
Kentar sighs a little. "I don't know if Garnet is leaving too, but. If she does." he sighs. "I don't know. I'll. Try to talk with her, to say goodbye tomorrow. But. Will." he kneels down to give the rat a hug. "I really will miss you.'
Will hugs the stoat back tightly, "We'll miss you too. I still don't want you, any of you t go away. If you were moving that'd be different and that'd be ok but this isn't." The rat's fur is still damp but mostly dry now, it sticks up at odd angles since Will didn't get around to drying off much before he started talking with the stoat.
Kentar hugs tight but then lets go, nodding slowly. "Will. I'll think about staying. But. On one only condition."
Will's ears raise a little and he asks, "What?"
Kentar's ears flatten back. "I want you to ask Garnet why she's scared of me. She knows I'd never ever hurt her as long as I live..." he says. "I'm just not sure she's ready to talk to me."
Will's ears go back down. "I'll try. Don't know if she'll want t talk t me about it or not but I'll try an find out for you." Will really wishes the otter were back they'd be much better at this stuff than him.
Kentar nods. "Thank you. I guess. I'll stay until I know if she...still loves me." He says before yawning. 'I'm going to go to bed. Er. Probably in the infirmary tonight." he sighs.
Will nods again, "Ok. Night. I'll talk t her in th morning or whenever I see her next." The rat wanders off back toward the dibbuns garden to check on Racky who's been sleeping out there over the day or so.
