Talking in the Abbey...yeah, that's really not very discriptive, is it?

RW Abbey: Firepit

This is a small strip of land between the pond and the orchards which is bordered on one side by a portion of the Abbey's southern wall. This particular section, while well built and sturdy, is obviously much, much newer than the sections to either side of it. The ground is clear of almost all grass and weeds, and is somewhat uneven, still bearing deep ruts and impressions that have not yet been worn away by the rain. The center of this area contains a large firepit lined with flagstones and encircled with log benches.

Exits: [O]rchards, [P]ath to Abbey Pond

Friends: Flicktail the fox. Scioto the cat. Ferdinand the ferret and Blisa the cat. Emmit the shrew. Nightbreath the ermine. Bandit the fox

Flicktail asks, "Fot got wot?" the fox says cocking his head and beginning to build a fire

Scioto says, "its not cold do not build a fire please, its summer time "

Flicktail blink blinks "I was going to cook lunch....."

With basically no warning, a fluffy white blur comes 'flying' out from the trees and goes to roughly tackle Scioto. "DAADDY!!!" Ferdinand comes running behind Blisa (the fluffly white blur) and screeches to a halt, too late to catch her. He is panting slightly; he must've been running after her for all day.

Flicktail blink blinks "thats an impressive pounce...."

Scioto manages to catch Blisa and offers a smile, "Greetings and what are you up to today, behaving?"

Blisa grins as she hangs limply. "I've been running around and driving Ferdy CRAZY!!" Ferdinand rolls his eyes and sits down. "That'th no lie..." the kitten wraps her arms around her father's neck. "I think I've been behaving...I didn't steal a scone, even though I wanted to." "Oh, tho that'th why you were thtareing at the kitchen window like that!"

Flicktail says, "That is rather thoughtless o the cooks to leave warm scones completely unprotected ina window"

Emmit enters the scene and plunks himself down by the fire, "Everything is still locked up, it seems."

Blisa turns to the shrew. "What do you mean?" Ferdinand watches Flicktails' aim to light the fireplace, curious, but not enough to say something...yet.

Flicktail is not lighting the fire pit right now out of respect for Scioto's request "How haveya been Ferdinand, how do you always getto keep an eye of Blissa?"

Emmit says to Blisa, "Nobody has been allowed in or out for several days."

Ferdinand swallows, suddenly nervous. He dosn't know this fox very well. "Um, uh, I've been okay. It'th....uh, I'm her bodyguard. It'th my job...and the really doethn't need more than one." Blisa nods to Emmit. "Oh. I had forgotten that. Why would you want to leave? Do you need to get home soon? They might let you go if that's why."

Emmit says, "no, I've lived here for a while now, I just...wanted to visit someone but I can't."

Flicktail thought he knew Ferdinand, and stands up "Names Flicktail" he offers his right paw, his left on the pommel of the sword "Champion o Redwall" he glances to Emmit "Hello Emmit, why can't you visit whomeber ya want?"

Emmit says, "They claim that some members of Merek's rabble are around nearby somewhere."

Scioto says, "That may be true, we are unsure.I am thinking they are in Ferravale for now, least till they plan on attcking here"

Blisa has suddenly lost interest in the conversation and scoots down to sit almost on Scioto's feet, picks up a peice of charcoal and starts to doodle on a rock. Ferdinand shakes the fox's paw. "Good day. Good to meet you." Did they meet before? Probably. How else would Flictail know his name? OH....Blisa probably chattered about him. OK, that makes sense....that's probably what happened.

Flicktail smiles "Firm paw shake, I likesthat he squats down near blissa "Good monring Princess Blissa, how are you and the Bikket knights doin these days?"

Emmit comes over to Blisa and asks, "Hello there, what is your name?"

Scioto smiles some, it seems today is a goodday and the weather is not too hot anyways and a nice breeze has come, "Not as crowded here it seems"

Blisa frowns slightly. Bikket Knights....that sounds familiar....and yet.... As she thinks about it, she glances up at the shrew. "I'm Blisa. What's your name? What brought you to Redwall? Are you a shrew? I don't see shrews very often." she turns to the fox and gives him some questions, too. "What's a Bikket Knight? Why would I know if they're OK? Why'd you call me Princess?"

Emmit says, "I am a shrew, I live here. I came here because I got lost and needed a new home."

Flicktail smiles "My Son Benick, and daughter, Luna, are Bikket knights, they get warm Bikkets and hiney alla time... I am Flicktail because m tail flicks, and I bet your Blissa"

Scioto says, "We rarely come to the abbey Flicktail, so she may not of meet them or maybe forgot about them if only seen them once""

Flicktail nods to Scioto "quite right Suh"

Blisa is a little ticked off. "I know your name, I was asking the shrew what his name is. And I'm not stupid...I just don't remember what a Bikket Knight is." Ferdinand coughs slightly, and his charge shuts up and instead makes jagged dents in the dirt with her heel.

Emmit says, "I'm Emmit. Don't be mad, Blisa."

Scioto frowns and shakes his head as he sighs.

Ferdinand nods. "Yeth, Blitha, it'th not worth getting angry over." the kitten sighs, then goes back to doodling on the rocks around the fireplace. "Where were you trying to go, Emmit?" "Don't be too nothy, Blitha." "Oh, sorry..."

Emmit explains to Ferdinand, "I wanted to go out into the forest and visit some relatives that lived as tribals in Mossflower."

Scioto says, "other shrew groups in the woods, hmmms...there is another shrew here somewhere he is a little, not sure how to word it..strange""

Emmit raises an eybrow, "Really?"

Blisa looks up at her father. "Is he crazy, Daddy?" Ferdinand sits down on the ground and starts to draw on the rocks with charcoal, too.

Scioto says, "Ummm, I am unsure, he asked it I had left my memories at home or droped them when I saw him few weeks ago, he is also loud at times a very odd shrew"

Nightbreath strides in. "Good afternoon, everybeast," he says as he sits beside the fire pit and casts his special powder onto the flames, if there are any.

Emmit walks over to Blisa and looks at the rock, "What are you doodling?"

Blisa doesn't look up. "A squiggly line. I'm pretending I'm drawing the path of a slug." There is no fire, so Nightbreath's powder, if tossed, just sits there, looking kind of pathetic. Ferdinand looks up and nods a greeting to the ermine. "Good day."

"Blisa, I have news for thee," Nightbreath murmurs. "News that will please you."

Emmit bows to Nightbreath when he enters briefly, "Greetings Spirit-Talker."

Blisa looks up into the Seer's eyes and asks, totally deadpan, "You found a slug I can observe?" Ferdinand has to fight really, really hard to not laugh aloud. Slugs. Disgusting little creatures, and yet oddly fascinating.

Flicktail rteurns with some warm turnovers and sits down, "anyone wonts berry turnovers? fresh from th ovens"

Holding up his paw to volunteer for a turnover Nightbreath continues speaking with Blisa. "Your father has granted me permission to train you in unarmed combat. Of the most ancient kind."

Emmit takes a small wooden figure out of his pocket, resembling a wildcat, "These are what all the dibbuns want right now. Would you like it?"

Bandit stolls in the scene. The young fox is wearing his usuall vest and garments. The fox looks to much leaner and healthier than the last time he left redwall, "Evening gental beasts. Nice to see everyone and...oh! are those berries?"

Blisa accepts the toy wildcat. "Thanks, Emmit." she turns back to Nightbreath. "I'm gonna learn how to box? Cool!" Ferdinand turns to Flicktail and says, "I'd like one, pleathe. And I'll take one for Blitha...I doubt the heard you."

Emmit gets out another and hands it to Ferdinand, "This is my last one."

Bandit samples the treat. "Man that is tasty." The fox sits down.

Emmit gets out another block of wood and sits down near the unlit fire to carve it, "Does anybeast know who this Lason is? I've bee asked to make figurines of him all day."

Flicktail smiles and offers the tray first to Nightbreath "Seer" he bows in respect then he offers blissa 2 of course, Emmit is offered and then to Bandit he holds outteh tray and says "Have you heard of any beast named bandit? I been looking for him" the fox not recognizing his slim friend

Nightbreath takes the turnover gratefully. "My thanks, Champion." He inclines his head before speaking to Blisa. "It is not just boxing, but full-body combat. Down to elbows, knees, feet, teeth, forehead..."

Bandit chuckles, "Give me a few more berries and you might!"

Ferdinand groans as Blisa gets an excited and vicious look in her eyes and a wicked grin. "I get to bite beasts?! That is epic!! Yes! Yeeesss!"

Flicktail says, "I think you may like biting the Turn over more." he chuckles, then looks at Emmit "Lason is the heroic beast that risked is life to bring messages to us and warn us o Left ear... the only one more brave I think is bandit,if i coudl FIND the beast"

Bandit narrows his eyes a bit. He steps on flicktails tail to get his attention.

"In the right situation." Nightbreath nods. "Sometimes you must put every part of yourself into a fight, metaphorically and literally. You must learn the fighting style of the ancient Gil'amar."

Flicktail Yelps softly "Careful there beast" he strokes and hugshis tail "I need thatai.....Bandit!?"

Blisa blinks. "The ancient what?" Ferdinand stands caustiously. "I'm not tho thure thith ith a good idea, Thir..."

Bandit laughs at the other fox. "Glad to see you havn't changed too much Flick."

Emmit asks, "who is this, Flicky?"

"My ancestors," Nightbreath says smoothly. "The ancient Seers developed a fighting style for which they were renowned...The Way of the Spirit, they call it. An ancient paw-to-paw fighting style. Ferdinand, her father approved this," he reassures the guard.

Blisa whoops and leaps up, grabbing Ferdiannd's paw and tugging him off, hollering over her shoulder, "Thanks you! Good-bye! I wanna tell somebeast!!" Poor Ferdinand doesn't have the chance to say good-bye.

And I had to leave! Thanks for reading!
