Talk in Great Hall

Katelin makes a weird face placing her paw over her muzzle and shakes her head, squeeking softly, "no thank you." she muffles a little as she slowly brings her paw down to her lap, keeping the blanket over herself.

Oz walks into the room,he studys the beasts that are in the room first and sits in a chair staying quiet.

Flicktail asks, "you Sil-fur? oh Ello Oz..wont somein from e Kitchens?"

Flicktail really seems to like Katelin, but does not get pushy about it.

Oz shakes his head "I am ok for the moment,thanks...besides had some soup eariler."

Flicktail nods and sits down "you really ave some interestin Stripes there Oz"

Katelin wiggles her footpaws around a little streaching some.

Oz chuckles slightly...he yawns a little,muttering a sorry,...."I am...thinking of staying in the abbey, well maybe I am uncertain yet...been by myself pass 10 seasons, well almost by myself," He sighs.."Before that lived in the northlands with..."The pause is long before he seems to gather energy to finish.."My mate and son"

Flicktail says, "we sure do need a Badja, oz. He smiles to Katelin "where did you come from sweety?"

Katelin points at the door, "north." she shivers some. "cold."

Oz shrugs, "Like said...havent decided yet on staying...use to the north,though it has its hidden...dangers." He nods "yes its cold but one can get use to it."

Flicktail says, "aye well we ave a nice warm fire ere..and friendly beasts"

Katelin wonders off the chair and over to the fire laying down on the ground infront of the fire, wrapping herself loosly in the blanket, looking quite warm.

Flicktail says, "she's sweet" he smiles

Flicktail smiles as a little Vixen fox, not even a season old crawls on all 4's toward Katelin on all fours giggling.

Oz smiles weakly, he hasnt smiled much for a while and seems to find it hard to do..."Intresting how I promised one day to come here and did...though wish it had been sooner,..wish" He sighs.

Flicktail pats the Badgers arm "Oi be sorry Oz...but were ere now andthere be neasts wot need you here ya know"

Katelin suddenly emits a squeek spotting the small fox, and scurrys nearly sending the blanket into the flames as she scales a chair looking petrified at the moment, blinking at the small fox, her tail wrapped close around her waist covering her middle half.

The Fox is a wee tiny dibbun who squeals in laughter as the squirrel runs The Vixen sitting at the bottom of the chair lifting her tiny arms up to the Squirrel. Flicktail says "now now Luna be noice to our guest"

Oz tenses up a little,..."Need me, no beasts needs me that much..." He grumbles and frowns thinking of the past again.." Not too good at saving beasts...couldnt save...my family." He closes his eyes remebering again,he shakes his head..."The storm,...made the path unsteady, the snow...avalench,...happen so fast" Tears go down his face,..."Couldnt get to them,..I should of died too."

Flicktail says, "Oi needs ya Oz....Aye bad memories oi know we all ave em"

Katelin sits perched atop the chair looking down, in deep thought before she slowly comes down leaning down and tries to gently poke the dibbun as if to see if it is real her eyes huge.

Luna gigg;es and gently grabs onto katelin's finger holding it, she is VERY small

Oz nods slowly.."A wolf I knew...helped me, I had broken my arm, my mate and son had fallen further down...for a whole season I was just...alone,stayed away from anyone and everyone, then I meet and saved Maxtor,he has been like a son to me ever since," he sighs slightly "I am probally a bit too..strict with the boy,over protective."

Katelin lifts up the dibbun slowly looking her over before she sits down lowering the dibbun into her lap looking the tiny fox over, her tail still wrapped around herself, all bushy keeping a space

Flicktail nods "well you mightwannamake a habit o that, elpin beasts" he smiles as luna giggles and curls in Katelin's lap and tries to suck on the squirrel's thumb

Katelin blinks and wiggles her thumb a little blinking as if she is trying to free her thumb.

Luna giggles and doesn;t have a tooth in her mouth..leaning up to try and catch the thumb "Ye loike me daughter Katelin...she seems ta loikes you"

Oz manages a weak smile again..."Helping beasts is a good thing, I do have some healer skills,...fighter skills too, but I only fight as a last resort."

Katelin pats the foxes head softly and looks up to flicktail, as if lost in thought watching the little dibbun, she reaches over grabbing up the blanket and covering up the small fox save for her head, as she smiles softly her free paw rubbing her ankle softly.

Another dibbin, the twin of the one with Katelin, only make...bumps into Oz's footpaws trying to keep going pushing against the Badger

Luna snugg;s into the blanket smiling as she hugs to the squirrel maid

Oz looks over at the dibbun, he blinks and looks down at the other dibbun by his footpaws.

Flicktail says, "That be me son, Benick, they are very youn"

Benick looks up at the Badger and holds his paws up

Katelin blinks and wiggles her tail carefully so the dibbun winds up huging the tail, she seems really sensitive about being touched or hugged, or even seen all the way. She carefully wraps up the dibbun and stands up bringing the dibbun to flicktail setting her in his lap carefully, " she needs food I think." she wobbles herself hugging her tail tip some.

Oz frowns, he seems unsure what to do with the dibbun holding his paws up to him,he smiles slightly.."Ello there."

Flicktail smiles and takes Luna...the vixen works her arms out beginning to cru as she reaches toward Katelin "Wa...wa..WA!!! " she leans as Flicktail holds her "no no Luna, she as things ta do" the little vixengets big tears in her eyes. Meanwhile benick blinks and tugs himself up to standing using the Badger;s fur "

Katelin squeeks softly shivering as she bounds over and plants herself behind a chair, curling some, peeking out watching flicktail and the dibbun.

Oz nods.."Hi.." He reaches a paw down to make sure the dibbun doesnt fall over.

Benick latches onto the Badger's paw trying to climb into it, as Luna looks heartbroken big tears running down her cheeks..she pointsto Katelin and says softly "Fwend?"

Oz allows the small fox to climb up into his lap, well been awhile since he's had a dibbun in his lap, he stays quiet and simply watches the small fox.

Benick is in heaven as he turns 2 times and curles up in the warm lap, smiling toothlessly up at the Badger as he curles his tail about himself snuggling into the warm lap

Jake arrives from the Staircase..

Silver walk's into the room and is a sight to behold dibbons on oz katelin in her chair (ok that is normal) and Flicktail looking happy (normal too) "what is going on aia left for a few seconds and two dibbon's just show up explain!"

Compest arrives from the Staircase..

Compest has arrived.

Oz smiles a little more at the small fox in his lap, he gently pats him on the head.

Flicktail says, "these be my children Sil-fur"

Benick pounces the paw cutely

Jake enters into the room, he stops as he sees the large number of beasts,.."Well jolly well ello ta ya all,wot wot?"

Katelin emits a rather loud squirrel squeek and tugs a spare blanket atop the chair down and over herself, completely hidden under the blanket now. Obscured squirrel, seeming very shy of all that is going on.

Compest slowly walks into the Great Hall from the stairs, leaning on his cane. "Good evening everybeast," he says with a gentle smile as he makes his way to a nearby table, sitting down carefully.

Silver smiles " Well i say i have never seen them around wot wot"

Flicktail hugs Luna, the Fox sibbun in his lap "Yes he be a Friend Luna.....but she needs time....."

Oz grins,..."Nice dibbuns you have."

Compest smiles gently to Flicktail. "Showing off your little ones again m'friend?" he asks before nodding. "I did the same when mine were still little." Then he looks to Jake and nods to him. "Hello sir." Then to Silver, nodding a greeting to him, before looking at the badger. "Well, my, if it isn't a badger. Long time since I've seen one around these parts, but a welcomed sight. Good evening sir."

Flicktail says, "they be me first" he smiffles with a tear "oi loves em....the whole Abbey be helpin me wi em"

Flicktail says, "Ello Compest, the little ones tend ta show emselves off, they be good Dibbuns" Luna put her arms outto her uncle Compest"

Jake nods his greeting ..."Ello there sir."

Katelin watches flicktail and the dibbun in his lap her head just outside the blanket as she looks lost in thought, one could dangle a candid chestnut infront of her face and she might not even react.

Flicktail looks at Jake "ave wemet Sir?

Silver smiles "Well I say this is jolly 'ol wonderfull every one is gitting along '

Flicktail tries dangling a sugar cookie in front of katelin

Oz looks over at Compest "Yes I have only been around a few days, new to the area, I come from the snowy north lands."

Compest smiles warmly to Luna before picking her up, hugging her gently. "Ah, Luna, she's getting so big so fast. Enjoy the time, Flicktail." The weasel gently kisses the dibbun's head before setting her down, then smiling once more to Oz. "Well, welcome to Redwall Abbey. My name is Compest. I'm a long-time resident of the Abbey, so if you need anything, just let ol' Compest know."

Flicktail holds Luna out toward Silver "wonnameet me daughter lad?

Jake looks to the abbey champ, he sees the sword, "Well...the sword of Mar...well,say we have jolly well met now,say wot...Jake Scioto Lafur Foreston Lakewood Johnson the III at ye service."

Silver smiles and pats the small fox " 'ello there little one 'ow are you this fine night"

Oz nods "I will keep that in mind Compest...so far my stay has been.....rather nice."

Luna see's Silver's long ears and reaches up to gently grab one, quickly beginning to gum the ear

Flicktail says, "Oz...woudl ya loike ta learn somethin here at e abbey?"

Silver grins "now there little one save some for me!"

Compest smiles still to Oz. "Good to hear." Then he laughs at Luna and Silver. "Careful now, dibbuns love long ears. Tell me sir, since this other fine hare here is Mr. Johnson, I presume you to be Mr. Silver?"

Luna giggles and gums teh ear more

Oz glaces over at Flicktail..."Learn something....not sure what I could learn "

Silver smiles at Oz "there is a lot to learn that you do not know about this abbey"

Flicktail looks to Oz as Benic tugs at his paw "Why lotso things, we need stone masons, and we need gardners, and oi whittle wood...Oi be a carpenter, couse oi Carp..or you coudl be a fisherbeast

Jake chuckles "Jake be fine, just Jake...if one being saying my whole name too much, give a beast a bally headache wot."

Silver nod's his head to compest "aye sir you be right."

Oz shrugs "I could,..think about, I may just stay till spring."

Katelin slowly slips out of the chair leaving the blanket as she wonders over her tail wrapped around her her waist as usual, moving closer to Flicktail till she is right next to him, pulling up a chair, looking shy at the moment, reaching into her bag pulling out a candided chestnut, stuffing it into her muzzle suckling on it softly.

Flicktail says, "if ye loikes"

Flicktail smiles to Katelin and offers his own warm blanket so she can sit beside him by the fire

Oz sighs, feeling a bit uneasy with sll the beasts in the room,he keeps it to himself though.

Flicktail says, "Easy oz...these be th warmpth o friends"

Compest chuckles lightly to the hare nodding. "I see you've already met my grandson." Then he laughs before nodding. "Please, forgive Ross for being in such sour moods. I've been working with him to be a kinder beast but sometimes his mouth gets him into trouble. And apparently with a badger at that." Then he looks to Oz before saying, "And Mr. Oz, I do appologize if you're the badger who had a bad run in with him."

Jake goes to the kitchen and comes back with some bread and cheese and starts to eat it in a chair close by.

Katelin shares the blanket covering herself up from her sholders down, smiling softly as she looks up at flicktail, and the dibbuns, then down to the ground, her eyes wondering around.

Oz shakes his head "No..I was not..." He nods to Flicktail..."Yes,...friends, I...dont have friends,just my...adopted son really."

Flicktail says, "Too late, cause (I( be yer friend...us otterfoxs be sneaky that way"

Flicktail smiles gently to Katelin and offers her some warm mulled cider

Silver sit's down by Oz " And you forgot about you jolly 'ol friend Silver!"

Compest smiles warmly still at the badger nodding. "You're in Redwall Abbey, Mr. Oz. All are friends here."

Flicktail says, "well Said Suh Well Said' he says to Compest"

Jake stays on the otherside of the room of the badger, he gets out a flask of October Ale and sips it,he grins and settles into his chair relaxing and listening to the chatting.

Katelin reaches out accepting it slowly and sniffing it curiosly, she isn't sure if it is spicy or not, determining it is safe and sips it slowly, leaving the blanket in her lap not at her shoulders, tail in her lap all fluffy, watching everyone.

Oz smiles,...its real smile..."Friends...havent had a friend in 10 seasons, been...well a hermit may as well say, had my reasons at the time."

Flicktail asks, "can oi be yer friend too Katelin?"

Silver smiles "Is to bad 'ol Max had to miss that!"

Benick moves to begin gnawking on Oz's thumb toothlessly while Luna giggkes and tugs at Silvers whiskers

Katelin looks up and slowly nods her head, "Friend be ok." she shifts her tail, crunching the chestnut in her mouth as she gets a piece broken off, she seems very silent.

Compest smiles to the badger before standing, walking to him and giving him a gentle pat on his shoulder. "Well then," he says, "you make friends for life here, so get use to it." The weasel chuckles before he offers the badger a wink.

Flicktail says, "maybe one day oi kin even get a hug from Matelin" he smiles.

Oz looks at the dibbun on his lap still.."Hey..." He then smiles a little again..."You seem hungry maybe hmmmms?"

Silver face light's up " i will get some food" no sooner than he is finshed talking than he is in the kitchen

Jake sips his ale and watches, he finishs his bread and cheese and looks about the great hall..."Lots around wot,then is jolly well warmer inside, be snow out there"

Flicktail smiles to Oz "the little one e loikes honey lots" he nods to a jar of honey beside the badger.

Katelin emits a soft squeek, "you can't squish," she says softly, hugging her tail tip softly.

Flicktail says, "oi woudl never Squish katelin..ye be me friend, oi tyakes care o friends"

Compest smiles to Jake before walking to him, sitting down slowly next to the hare, letting out a tired sigh. "Better to be with friends then out in the cold," he says. "Tell me sir are you from the western shores?"

Oz looks to the honey jar nearby.

Flicktail says, "just offer im some on yer finger Lad"

Katelin nods, "no squeeze, squish me." she sips the cider, "not good." she nods softly.

Flicktail says, "nope wpuldn't do that kate"

Jake looks up as Compest comes over.."Oh...you mean the fire mt. place....blah."He seems slightly annoyed at the question..." Long time ago, but not bally well now wot wot,...wanderer type now, go where the...welll where I jolly well please ta go."

Oz hmmms and gets a little honey out for the fox..."Here you go...little one."

Katelin sips the cider remaining quiet for the time being stairing down at her tail, spaced out.

Benick's eye slight up as his tongue attacks the honey. Then he pauses and grabs the Badger bu his neck gently in tiney hands and says "wuv you

Pushing a large cart of food full of pastry's, cake's, honey scone's and soup, silver plops down near Filcktail and katelin eating some cake.

Compest smiles while nodding to the response. "I know many hares from Salamandastron," he says, then with perhaps just a touch of saddness, adds, "knew." Then he clears his throat. "It's a nice place but I'm happy you found your way here. I'm Compest. Pleasure to meet you Jake." Then he offers the hare his paw.

Oz tenses as he is hugged,he starts to push the dibbun away gently but stops, he sighs slightly and allows the hug, "Yeah...sure.." he says saddly.."Welcome."

Benick unknowing about the badger sits down and starts eating again Flicktail looks up "Oi hope benick can grow up to lear from you some Oz

Jake nods and shakes his paw.."Well it be jolly well great,most of the time...hmmm Long Patrol isnt all great say wot,..in it for a short while dont ya know,...didnt get along with the Badger lord, says I didnt know a rule if he showed me the defintion...hmmmphs, called me rude,weckless and ...well...left,never went back, still have the skills of a archer,fighter and all that,wot wot....help the weak,defenless and all that."

Silver rembering how Oz lost his son walk's up to the two and offers the twon honey scone's "would one of you two want any?"

Katelin looks around, "I um I will be back." she quickly slides down and wonders off.

Oz looks at the fox as he speaks "Learn what maybe?"

Flicktail says, "Badger's are great, yer strong, and benick loikes ya....you coudl show im all kindsof things"

Compest smiles, laughing lightly. "I'm not sure if the Badger Lord at the time was the badger I knew, but I had an old friend who was Badger Lord there once. They're not always easy to get along with but, I suppose that is the point. Well, a defender of the defensless is something that is always needed here in this place." Then he looks over to Silver and stands up, walking over to that hare. "Silver, correct?"

Flicktail takes Luna from Silver and begins to feed her

Oz seems to think a moment and shrugs. " Well...I can make sure he learns right and wrong...maybe little about healing herbs one day."

Flicktail says, "that would be wunnerful oz"

Jake hmmphs, he strightens up and grins at the food he just noticed Silvert brought in and helps himself to some.

Flicktail says, "you see oi never been a papa before"

Silver smiles "well you are now you great lump of a jolly 'ol otterfox"

Oz frowns slightly at the word papa, and nods "Yes it csn be a hard job...escpially when they are little."

Flicktail says, "oi take care o all the dibbuns in Redwall...but these 2 are the firstthat..are really mine"

Silver nod's to katelin "You should try to stay of your feet thay will heal faster"

Katelin wonders back in and plants herself on the floor next to Flicktail and Silver at least between the two. Her tail wiggles behind her, "I uh, yeah." she says softly rubbing her ankles some.

Compest smiles gently before nodding to everybeast, saying, "Well, it was nice to meet all of you. Take care and goodnight my friends." Then the weasel sets off to the dormitories.

Flicktail offers his blanketto katelin again

Compest heads over towards the Stairs..

Compest has left.

Katelin shakes her head at flicktail, "I uh No thanks." she says softly relaxing some. "I um am not cold anymore."

Flicktail finally gets up and collects his children "come on little ones, time fer bed so Oi kin check th walls G'night everybeast, gotta see to me dibbuns"

Oz yawns some, he blinks as the dibbun is picked up and watches the fox leave.

Flicktail says, "Warme night al...keep th light"

Flicktail heads outside and into the Abbey Entry..

Flicktail has left.

Jake nods a goodbye to the champ, he stays where he is and gets another bit of cheese and bread, and a couple bits of pie.

Silver smiles at Oz "I will say thanks for the dibbon's, that had to be hard."

Oz nods slowly "It has been...a long while since held any dibbun, that young..."

Silver nods.

"Redwall Abbey is....least a little bit....feeling like home in a way."Oz says.

Silver pat's Oz's back "It grow's on you wot wot?"

Katelin nods slowly to silver, "I have to be careful these days." she sits back relaxing against a chair. "can't just let anyone in."

Oz smiles but remains quiet.

Katelin nods her head slowly, wiggling her tail

Oz smiles slowly at the squirrel.."Yes we are all...friends."
