Salamandastron: Library

  • -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

Here lies the collective efforts of a few good, intellectual hares of the mountain. Over the seasons, this room, which was once little more than a storage room, has been converted into a quite functional library, filled with books of all sorts. The room is staggered with bookshelves, all crafted within the mountain, which reach very nearly to the ceiling, with only a foot or two of space above them, in most instances. And, surprisingly, the shelves are basically all full. Apparently, over the seasons, hares have donated books, and books that were previously stored elsewhere have been brought here.

Some books are older than any of the hares alive in the mountain, and, even more, some are nearly as old as the mountain, itself. These sort are usually journals and records - histories of the mountain. In fact, there is an entire section of this, in a corner of the room, which one can only get to by making their way through the maze of bookshelves to that corner, which is quite like a room in and of itself, closed in by walls on two sides and bookshelves on the two others. However, in the center of the main room, there are two tables set, and upon these books like, some open and some closed, despite the efforts of the librarian hare to keep them on the shelves.

[R]ecords [R]oom [C]orner of Library

Zinnia is sitting in the library, she remembered this place from before and it sort of feels like home to her. She sits in a large soft chair and has on her more official looking sister robe. She has cleaned up and smoothed out her fur and has some newer sandals on her footpaws. Beside the badger maid is some letters and s scroll or two she brought with her, and her journal is in her lap, a book she has not touched in a long while since the trip, she sighs as she opens it and seems debating on writing in it or not.

Leon pokes his head into the library and looks around. He smiles as he finds Zinnia and walks over slowly, “I see you found a library here, much bigger than the one at the abbey." He studies her for a moment before speaking again, “Would it be ok to do a quick check up, just to make sure you’re ok?" He waits on a reply before moving from where he stands.

Zinnia blinks as she looks up at the sound of Leon's voice and nods an ok to check on her. Her low grade fever is down and the small cough she had is also gone. The bruise on her left cheek has faded a lot and should be gone in a day or two. She stays quiet as she sits there in the chair.

Leon checks her and nods "Well, physically your fine, but what about emotional wise?"

Zinnia frowns, she doesn't really answer that right away and when she doe's it's quietly, "I'm....fine." She says in a flat tone and closes her journal book as she can write in it later, it's not like she has forgotten the trip here, or the past few days either. “Meeting....soon."

Leon listens and gives a reply, “You’re not fine, you may be able to get through this meeting." He seems to rethink “Least I hope so, but you can't keep holding in things, it's not good for you. You been quiet and just doing what you believe is important for the day and then you usually sleep or least that’s what happen on the trip, you’re hurting and we..me and Dorarose, can tell. Rarely talking, not eating or drinking as much as should, ever since Zork died." yes he mentioned the name, he felt he should. Concern fills his voice as he speaks to the badger.

Zinnia looks down as her father's name is mentioned and takes a deep breath. She cannot let herself get upset today and has tried her best not to be upset the past couple days.

Leon tries something else, “You have friends who are concerned about you. Look its ok to grieve and it’s needed sometimes. You’re not the only one who misses him, so does Oz and Zee....I do as well. That day I wondered if I had come quicker would it of helped? If I had been helping in the orchards would I of been able to catch signs he wasn't ok or would it of made a difference, I don't know. I saw him that morning and he seemed fine, he was excited about helping and doing something important and from what I heard he took it very easy that day."

Zinnia stays quiet, but she does look at the mouse, she clearly remembers that day as it’s not something one forgets easily. She shakes her head "No...few friends." She smooths out her robe and adjusts a pin she has showing her as ambassador,"Dorarose...hates me." In her mind she does anyways. And she further ruin it when she was on the beach and didn't reply to the mouse, she half heard her but she was also a little out of it to listen to much of anything anyone said.

Leon shakes his head, “No she doesn't, she is worried about you. You and her should talk but I know she is very much your friend and so am I, it's why we were chosen to led you here by Martin."

Zinnia looks over at him surprised, "Martin?" Ok now he has her full attention as this is the first she knew of this, I mean wasn't it Benar who told them to come with her.

Leon clears his throat"Some say she has no direction,That she's a light of speed and distraction,That's a knee-jerk reaction,This is the final frontier,Everything is so clear,To destiny you steer her, companions true, healer and warrior,as it must be as the path is written so shall it be."

Zinnia remains silent as he speaks, she seems to think on the words he speaks and shrugs a little.

Leon says, "Ok...healer and warrior, that’s me and Dorarose and your the one we led to here, and we were companions along the trip. There may of been some trouble near the end but we still made it here, I mean I knew we would."

Zinnia holds back a tear as she replies"I..asked..D..Dora and she seemed...to hate me." She shakes her head as she glances around the large library,"Yeah...made it. So?"

Leon says, "I am not sure what the destiny part is, you being ambassador maybe or maybe it's something more..I don't know Martin is never super clear on things"

Zinnia just shrugs, she just wants this meeting to start and the day to get over with, then maybe she can just be alone somewhere.

Leon says, "And like I said Dorarose is very much still your friend, trust me please."

Zinnia seems unsure and unsure she will stay for now. She shrugs slowly,"Meeting...soon, you should, should just go." Her voice is quiet and doesn’t really have any emotion to it, she is just here for a meeting, short or long she seems to care less as she is just sort of on auto right now, it’s become easy to block out anything painful and just be a simple version of herself as no smile here and not been one for a long time, not since the morning her father died in front of her.

Leon frowns, "Zinnia...I know you can, well state facts and whats important, and most likely know most of whats in those letters, but then what? What after you answer his questions if he has any?"

Zinnia just shrugs, she will just have to do this, excuse herself afterwards and hope for the best, she already feels she made a bad first impression.

Leon sits down, just for now anyways as he will still head off, "I know his name is Ciocan, if you needed to know. I mean I know you sort of meet him and maybe...ok not the best way to meet the Badger Lord. If you need me or Dorarose here, I am sure he wouldn't care"

Zinnia sighs, "No....just me." Her tone of voice is plain

Leon slowly stands and nods "Alright, I will be where ever Dorarose is if you need either one of us. ok?"

Zinnia nods, she understands but whether she will look for them is a totally different story.

Leon frowns,"Ok, I will see you later maybe" He then slips off quietly and leaves her alone for now.
