Vengro's horde as captured the abbey. Aeysin 'befriended' one of the
dibbuns, SunRose. Aeysin is trying to 'mess with her mind' and think the
abbeybeasts are the enemy. Joseph escaped from the confines of the
Infirmary and was disguised as Deatheart the fox. Once the lazy guards
fell a sleep for trust in him, he reveiled his identety to SunRose, the
only other beast awake. Have fun!

Joseph says in a low voice to SunRose, "Are you Okay? I hope I didnt scare
you back there...Have you been hurt?"

SunRose whispers in reply, her hazel eyes looking over the crowd.."Eh.. I no
'urt.."

Joseph whispers back, "Some are...doubting your trust...because of Aeysin.
I know you are loyal to us. If you and Tressa were able to escape would
you? Would you take that chance?"

SunRose whispers, "Dey my friends, dey nevah' 'urt me.. Swenie's good, You
'ust 'avta ern her trust.. she taught me som' stuff.. I don' wanna weave"
to Joseph.

Joseph whispers, "Ok, but, would you like to leave the infirmary without
haveing to have a guard?" to SunRose.

SunRose whispers, "I don' mind" to Joseph.

Joseph whispers, "What...what did Swenyo teach you?" to SunRose.

SunRose whispers, "'Bout 'ow mum-- er violet put me inna 'ere ta die 'lon
wif agua" to Joseph.

Joseph whispers, "That's not true. Violet would never do something like
that. She is kind and gentle...and as for dying with Agua, he's not going
to die, and neether are you." to SunRose.

SunRose whispers, "Mum not gentlie she 'urt lotsa bad beasties" to Joseph.

Joseph whispers, "That's because, she was protecting you. Not the abbey,
not me, not the abbot, but you." to SunRose.

***LONG WAIT***

SunRose sighs, taking in a deep breath

Joseph walks over to Sunrose, "What are you thinking about?"

SunRose says shallowly, her hazel eyes and face upturned to joseph..
hinting at her gracefullness to come.. "Hardly anything"

Joseph stares at the wall, "Yes, it's shuch a pitty that you have to grow
up like...with this...this horror. Oh why, why cant there be peace? I'm
sorry Sunrose. You shouln't have to grow up with this."

SunRose says quietly, her voice starting to loose it's dibbunish talk
(she DOES grow up;)."Everyone does I suppose.. da's dead.."

Joseph turns to SunRose, "Promise me. Promise me that you'll never...never
turn from a life of good. Promise me that you'll never be like the vermin
that killed our good abbot. Promise me."

SunRose looks at Joseph, her eyes too old for her age."Da' was bad, Why
cann't i be?"

Joseph says, "Because you are not your father, you are not your mother, you
are SunRose. Raised in this abbey to be good. Think of it, a life of
killing, a life of shame. A name that is cursed. No one would want that,
but somebeasts choose that path to Hellgates.

SunRose shakes her head,"I was'nt raised in dis abbey, at 'ome.. Shame?
Joseph, It only.. depends if ya got honor or not."

Joseph says to Sunrose, "You have honor. I can see it in your eyes. You
will be great. A great fighter against evil. In your own way. There are
many ways, not all carry a sword. I can see it. Look at you, you are
already growing up. Listen to how you talk, like a grownbeast. You are
not a dibbun any more. You are a woodlander."

Joseph's words shock Sunrose into silence.. The young mouse sits there,
arms wrapped around her knees as she thinks his words over, her eyes
brimming with tears.

Joseph puts his aged paw on her shoulder.

SunRose breaks down in quiet sobs, her small shouldars rocking.."I'm t-to
young f'this.."

Joseph sighs, "Yes, yes Sunrose, you are. It's this damned war! The war
is to blame. But, anyhow, you have grown up, and I'm proud of you."

SunRose tries to make humor, putting her paws over her face,"Does th' mean
I havta get married?"'

Joseph puts a mock-father type face on, "You not gettin married 'till you
30 seasons!"

SunRose laughs lightly, wiping her paw under her eyes, the laugh dissovling
into helpless giggles.
