Redwall Abbey. Infirm Recovery Room

Note: A few things happened before I entered IC, and much happened after I left, but I have logged all of it. I understand, it not being my RP, that it's not my story to log, but forgive me, because I thought a log would be appreciated... Enjoy! :)

Characters: Cera [ferret], Flicktail [fox], Oz [badger], Wilks [fox], Shandar (+ a quick spoof of Casper) [mice].

Cera is laying on a cot, a light blanket on her, she stirs a little and rolls onto her side and slowly opens her eyes to look around the room.

Flicktail walks in with a burr in his paw

Cera lays in one of the cots, she stirs a little and coughs some, she frowns as she sits up and looks around, "Garrett?..."

Flicktail says, "Ello Cerra, It's flicky...so you know Garrett too? nice beast"

Cera nods "He..got me here..I think" She frowns, "I couldnt breathc..cause of the walnuts and passed out, think Papa Oz caught me and Garrett g..got a healer for me, took some gross yucky stuff and woke up here"

Flicktail says, "Maybe you kin elp me some Cera... I ave a problem not surehow to solve it..."

Cera says, "Sure...help with what?"

Flicktail says, "Well With you, I wanna find a way to tell ya how much I reallycare about you and liek you, without soundin silly or like I am all syrup inside....."

Cera frowns, but she stays where she is, then she was told to stay by the healers so...she is stuck here.

Flicktail sits with Cera "I think I alreadymessed it uo

Cera folds her arms over her chest and just is quiet.

Flicktail says, "I'm Sorry Cera" he says a little crest fallen...moving off her bed to get some soup for another patient"

Cera watches the fox head away, seems she is still unsure of him just yet.

Flicktail doesn't go far,he just helps beasts, some smile happy to seeteh Abbey Champion, somne wantto touch the blade athis hip, he letsthem

Cera sighs and turns to face the wall, she is stuck here for at least a day, just a day she was told.

Flicktail bives over Cera some things, a little wooden puzzle, the adult kind he made, and a book.

Cera looks at the puzzle but doesnt do anything with it

Flicktail doesn't expect her to, it's just if she wants to. He works cleaning sheets and making beds

Flicktail is helping make beds

Oz walks into the infirm, he has his staff with him today as he walks in and looks threw the herbs, he smiles as he finds the mint leaves he had wanted for tea.

Flicktail looks up atthe 2 "ello

Wilks wanders in to the rec room. He looks surprised to see so many beasts here, "Oh! Good evening lads and lasses. I was just exploring the abbey. I hope I am not intruding?"

Oz turns, "I am just looking for mint leaves" He says as he leans on his staff.

Flicktail looks up "Pappa when did you get a staff?

Wilks leans over to the other beasts, "I must have had too much mead at lunch...did that fox just call that badger 'papa'?"

Oz rasies an eyebrow "I have had a staff for a while, just want useing it much till now, "He moves slowly to a chair and sits down in it and puts the leaves into the folded pouch and places it in his vest pocket.

Flicktail's ear flicks towards Wilks and he cocks his head "Ello there

The door slams open obnoxiously, and Shandar skids in, giggling. "Flicky!" She catches sight of the white fox before seeing the other fox, and her smile falters. "Um... Woah. Flicky, do you have another brother? Do I have another Uncle?!" Her excitement grows again, and she bounces up and down in the doorway.

Wilks raises an eyebrow to this possible badger- fox. The west lands are odd indeed. The lean black fox looks at shandar who is a mouse, "Uncle?" Very odd indeed.

Oz looks towards Shandar, he has not seen her in a while as he stares at her and sighs, He checks on a couple beasts near him.

Flicktail smiles and grins "SHANDAR! Shandar" he opens his arms to her going to his knees" That's just Wilks, he's sorta like my shadow" he winks at his joke

Wilks chuckles a bit. He is quick to jump on the band wagon, "Yes. Be sure to eat your veggies and you will grow up big and strong and your shadow will come alive to pester small dibbuns too!"

Oz frowns"No pestering dibbuns sir, not allowed"

Shandar runs to Flicktail and hugs him tightly. "So he's not an uncle? Aw. Nice to meet you anyway, Mr. Wilks." She smiles at him before wrinkling her nose. "I don't like veggies. I like things like candied chestnuts! Have you ever had any? They're really good!"

Flicktail asks, "can we pester badger Pappas?"

Wilks folds his arms behind his back, "Sorry dibbun but I am not your uncle. I am though very delighted to meet you all."

THe door opens again and another mouse, clearly related to Shandar, pokes his head in. "Oh, there you are." He grins. "Cummon, SHan, bathtime." "Nooooo!" Shandar squeals, but her brother, Casper, has got her tail. He smiles apologetically to the room. "Sorry all. Time for the pesky dibbun to get clean." He scoops her up and leaves, her protests echoing slightly.

Oz chuckles, he looks at Flicktail and shakes his head, he watches the door and then looks back to the others in the room.

Flicktail sighs as his ears droop "I always miss her when she leaves

Wilks shakes his head and chuckles, "They grow up so fast." The black furred fox then crosses his arm and narrows his eyes with a smile, "So I am your 'shadow'?"

Oz listens as they talk, "I think its been a long day, for alot of us"

Flicktail cocks his head, glanceing at Pappa oz "why do you ask? don't cha FEEL like me shadow?

Wilks says, "Being a shadow don't pay for food." he scratches his chin, "Come to think of it niether does story telling really." Looking at the badger he adds, "What seems to be the matter old timer? If someone needs cheering up I am always happy to weave a tale for them...at cost of course.""

Oz says, "No one charges for anything in the abbey sir"

Flicktail says, "well I charge th enemy" hechuckles"

Wilks snickers at the fox's comment. "I figured as much," he replies to the badger, "Thankfully I work for meqls and ale as well. So if anyone ever needs a story to bright their day or terrify the dibbuns to sleep, Wilks is your fox!"

Flicktail asks, "wot kind o story?"

Wilks says, "I tell all kinds of stories. Action, adventure, humor...horror. I've been traveling abroad to collect stories and share them with others.""

Flicktail asks, "do you knwo fox stories?"

The skinny fox laughs. "Does a fish know how to swim?" Wilks asks.

Flicktail scratches hishead and looks to oz because this MIGHT be a trick question

Wilks blinks a couple times, he sighs, "Yes. I know plenty of stories about foxes. Did you have one you wanted to hear?"

Flicktail says, "I don't knwo no fox stories"

Wilks scratches his chin deep in thought, "Alright then...fox stories, fox stories, there are so many to choose from..."

Wilks suddenly claps his paws together, "You look like you would like a good adventure yarn. Let's start you off with a little story called the Fox and the Dragon. Once upon a time in a large woodland area the kingdom was under seige by a terrible and evil dragon. Having his soldiers bested by the dragon the King summonned his last and most loyal knight to slay the beast...."

Flicktail says, "Dragon" he sits eyes widened as his ears perk"

The king, an elderly har sits upon his majestic thrown with one hand resting upon his chin. He does not seem amused by the preformance his jester is puting on. The black furred fox just can't seem to cheer the king up no matter how many times he hits himself in the face with a pie.

Flicktail looks horrified "You don;t wanna waste a good PIE" he smiles as he sits stocily looking liek a King

Wilks says, "Kings are allowed to be wastfull. Plus there was a kindom wide surplus of pie, it is what brought the dragon there in the first place," he says to flicktail. "So anyway the King then said to the fox...." The king sighs deeply, rubbing the bridge of his twitchy nose. "Fox...you are about as tallented at being a fool as the beasts I sent to slay the dragon were to fighting." He gestures to the guards, "Take him to the dungeon.""

Flicktail eeps "no no..not e dungeon! it's cold and dark....and we have LOST o pies!

Wilks asks, "Really? Ill take one then." Meinwhile story Wilks fell to his knees and began to grovel to the king, "No! Not the dungeon! It is cold and dark in there! Surely I can help you out in some other way!" As the guards sieze the poor fox, a messanger comes running into the room, "Sire! I have grave news! Sir Noble the bold has come down with the cold. He can not fight the dragon today." The king stands in anger. "Blast! That was our last knight. Who will save the kingdom now?"

Flicktail raises his paw "ohh I know i know th fox! the fox!

The king casts a side ways glance at Wilks and smiles. Wilks in turn swollows, "Oh...me and my big mouth..." the fox sighs. "Think of it this way fox. Seeing you torn to shreds by a dragon will certainly bring a smile to my lips." He gestures to the guards, "Give this fox a sword and send him on his way. If he does not ,heh, slay the dragon by night fall he will be launched from a catapult." And so the fox was carried away to the armory and given the cheapest short sword they could find and sent on his way.

Flicktail says, "maybs though..he's a NICE dragon...and he will wantthe mean ol King?"

Wilks chuckles at flicktails comment. "So tell me, where do you think the fox went after he left the castle?"

Flicktail says, "um... go get some Pie?"

Flicktail asks, "maybe fer teh dragon? I knwo I get mean if Others are eatin pie and i don;thavenone"

Wilks ponders for a bit, "Yes he filled himself up on what could only be imagined as his last meal...lots of pie. Then the fox left through the castle gates to go bravely fight the dragon. Then...as soon as he was out of sight...the fox bolted for the woods in the complete opposit direction for he was a shameless coward.

Flicktail says, "somebeasts woudl call im smart...so did e get away?"

Wilks laughs deeply, "Not quite..." The fox pants heavily after all his running and fleeing from a duty that was sure to get him killed. "How on eaeth do they expect me to fight off a dragon? I am the court jester!" Wilks is now surrounded by deep woods near a large pond. "No way I am coming two miles with in the dragons cave and no force on Earth can make me go there." Just then a shadow passes over the fox. He looks up in time to see the dragons claws snatch him from the ground and carry him off to his cave!

Flicktail says, "maybe Dragons liek jesters..it woudl make a GREAT friendship Aye?"

The yoing black furred fox could not be more terrified. He was in the clutches of a large red scaled dragon with a long sleek body, yellow scales running down his belly, massive wings, and large green eyes. Once the dragon reached his cave he carried the still screaming fox past his bed of silver, past the broken and smashed armor stacked like war trophies in the corner, armor belonging to those poor beasts who failed to beat the dragon. The dragon puts the fox into a small pit that is too high to climb out of.

Flicktail says, "ohhh that doesn't soundgood... but thats a right pretty dragon.....nice colores" he smiles"

The dragon gives the fox a smug look, "Look at what I caught. Another foolish knight out to slay me." His thunderous voice booms across the cave, "Where is your armor knight? Are you broke?" The fox stammers in near histaria, "W-wait! I am no knight! I am just the court jester!" The dragon laughs, "Really? I happen to like jesters..."

Flicktail says, "If he was smart e brought pie..." he smiles sitting listeningexcitedly to teh story"

Wilks smirks a bit but continues on...The dragon leans forward and grins at the fox, showing off a brilliant array of sharp pointed teeth, "They taste great with tomato sauce..." The fox gulps. He has no desire to be eaten with anything, thinking quickly he says to the dragon, "Wait! You don't want to eat me...I...I can really help you out!"

Flicktail winces and cringes "ohhh POOR Fox...you ave to be CLEVER

The dragon crosses his arms, "Oh? And what can a little fox like you possibly do for me?" The black furred fox ponders for a moment. What could he do for the dragon? An idea struck, "I, can lead you to the castles pie storage house." The dragon laughs, "No joke! Seriously. I can lead you to the building and you can smash it in." The fox cleans dirt from his claws, "Unless you are content with chomping down a small skinny fox for dinner."

Flicktail says, "so..so wot appenes... He doesn't get eat does e? yeas THATS agood idea King pie! :)"

Tapping his chin with a claw about as large as the fox himself the dragon ponders this for a long breathless moment. Finely he shrugs and picks up the fox again, "Why not? I havn't raided the castle in ages. But know this fox...any tricks and its down the hatch." Leaving his cave the dragon soon takes to the air again with the fox screaming blazes and curses at being carried so high over the air.

Flicktail asks, "Dragons kin FLY too?' he says entranced, hanging on every word"

It is well into night time when the dragon lands next to the Storage House, a large stone building about as tall as the dragon himself, located in the castle square. "Sheesh you are a noisy thing." He says as he puts the fox down. "You sure this is the place?" In reply the fox nervously nods his head, "Yeah. I stake my life on it." The dragon laughs as he raises one giant clawed hand in the air, "And don't you forget it." WHAM! The dragon smashes open the roof of the building and to his delight finds the room is stacked full of pies of all shapes and sizes. "Whoa!" The dragon says before be licks his chops and begins to eat.

The small fox grins in delight. "While that gluttonous fool eats his fill I will head up to the guard tower and raise the alarm. The dragon will be trapped in the castle and we can finely do away with him!" Taking a few steps backwards before turning to run away the fox quickly moves toward the guard tower.

Flicktail asks, "ohh so the fox isn't gonn be is friend?"

Wilks says, "Im afriad it is hard to make friends with beasts who want to eat you.""

Flicktail says, "well if he eats others ya know" he smiles"

Wbile the fox scurries up the steps of the guard tower the Dragon is more than happy to greedily devour all the pies he can find. Eventually the fox manages to make it up the steps and collapses. There were a lot of steps! He pants for a while before he weakly gets to his feet. Gripping the rope of the warning bell in both hands he beings to ring it!

Flicktail says, "I betthatDragongets atummy ache, too much pie do that yaknow"

The dragon's ears pick up at the sound and his eyes grow wide. By now he is completly in the building licking his claws and chops clean of pie. He is so full his belly grazes across the ground as he walks to investigate the noise.

Flicktail says, "too much pie make ya slow..easy to put a sword in wot?"

Wilks smiles, "I imagine the dragon looks a lot like I will after a few weeks here. You beasts really know how to cook!"

Flicktail says, "aye Thats why i became aGood best"

Wilks says, "And I suppose at this point it would be easy to put a butter knife into the dragon." "

Flicktail says, "aye it's a very clever idea"

The fox is becoming frantic. He has been ringing the warning bell long enough to wake up the whole countryside yet no one has come to investigate, "Where is everyone? Why are they not coming?" He stops ringing the bell as the fattened dragon leans against the tower. His head peers into the top of the tower and the fox rubbs his own eyes, "Thats right...the dragon ate all the guards and knights."

Flicktail says, "thats one FAT Dragon then"

Wilks says, "And angry." Wilks mimics the motions of the dragon, "With one mighty swipe of his claws the dragon knocks the tower down into the court yard below..." The fox screams as the tower collapses below him, stone and rock and rubble falling to the ground around him. By some mirical the fox manages to roll away from the tower as it collapses with few injuries. Which is good. Because the dragon was hot on his tail. The paniced fox made a mad dash for the open castle gates. The ground began to thunder and quake with every step the dragon took. He could smell the dragons breath as its maw drew closer to swollowing the fox whole!"

Flicktail says, "ohh hehasto be FAST fer that,,,you kin get crushed"

"I am not going to make it!" The fox screams as he runs, he can see the dragons teeth stretching out above him, "Oh nooooooo!" He leaps forward as the dragon bites at him. Then the dragon gasps in shock as the two run through the castle gates. The dragon stops in confusion. He looks behind him to see that bis swollen and greedy gut is wedged fast between the gates. He stries to wiggle himself free but his struggles only cause the gate to come crashing down on his back, pinning him to the spot! With a loud yelp the dragon then begins to curse and sbout, "You traitorous fox! Come back here! I will smash you into paste!" As he speaks the castle folks, the staff and the villagers come to investigate and eventually surround the dragon. Slowly he realizes the trouble he is in and gulps, "Uh oh..."

Wilks brings his tale to an end, "And thus the dragon was defeated. With some pleading and begging the dragon managed to convince the King to spare him from becoming a dragon sized feast. Instead they gave the dragon the job of 'moat monster'" Wilks chuckles, "After he went on a diet and slimmed down enough to free himself from the castle gates. As for the fox he became a hero and was richly rewarded with gold and lavish feasts and lived happily ever after...until the pie chrysis of 1342. But that is another story.

Flicktail claps his paws "your a WUNNERFUL story teller, and a GREAT shadow!

Wilks he takes a bow to his audiance of one member. "So...how was the story?"

Wilks chuckles, "Glad you liked it."

Flicktail says, "I must tuck my own dibbuns in though..Thank you for teh great story...I will se eya roudn teh Abbey?"

Wilks laughs, "Oh course...you still owe me pie for the story." He says with a grin.
