Robin Returns!

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Characters: Aikuen, Kentar, Robin

Location: Moledeep; Molehall

The first, second and third days without Robin have been hard on Kentar and Christopher more then anyone else. Chris really thought of Robin as a big brother who'd spend time with him and play with him and all that, and Kentar had finally just started to trust him. Then the soldiers came and took him away, which hit home hard. The stoats have been quieter, and more sad, and right now is no exception. Kentar is sitting at the table with a book, reading to himself quietly with a mug of...something strong smelling next to him.

Aikuen enters from the sleeping hall. With a little one in paw. Its Ella this time. Aikuen heads for the kitchen and leans down, "Okay Ella. Garnet is going to teach you a bit of cooking. So you be good. And don't hurt yourself" scruffing her head. She hrms, "I knows... Stops!" she ergs when he kisses her on the top of the head. Aik winks, "Oh. Get used to it." he says before booting her off then going to see how the stoat is, "Hey Kentar...Hows it going?" getting a whiff of the drink before sitting down.

The mug looks like once he filled it up, it wasn't touched. He looks up slowly and shrugs. "I miss him. That's how." he replies with a sigh. "Have you ever left anyone to go to war?" he asks. "Gone far away from your home and your family?" he asks. "What's it like?" he thinks that knowing how it feels might make him feel better since the only war he's ever been in, he never really left for.

Aikuen is kinda surprised a the question, "What? Oh... Um. Well. Kinda..." he thinks about for a few seconds, "...Well. My family all had died before i was conscripted back into service. So. The only beasts i really left was... Gillium family. We was my best friend back them. Brother. To Mehra..." he hums, "I left him and their family. When i was called back... It was. Unbearably really... But we had to do. What we had to do... We had no choice in the matter." he looks away, "I... Never saw them again... Or my home since then... Don't know if they are even still there... Alive..." The otter actually looks sad now.

Kentar sighs a little bit and shakes his head. "I don't want Robin to be like that..." he whispers to himself as he leans back into his seat, pushing his book away, paw resting on the mug. "Do you ever think of going back to see if they're still there?" he asks.

Aikuen shrugs a bit, "Once or twice. I left my home to escape. I was wanted criminal. There was a price on my head..." he gulps, "There still is, i think... But if i could go. Just to see. I would. Gilly took me and took care of me when i just didn't want to live anymore... And my home... " he hrms, "Its was just a spit of farmland in the country really. Probably already has squatters in it..." he chuckles and a head shake.

"We should go back then." Says a voice from the door. The way the light is, you can't see the beast. Only a shadow. "Yeah, we...hey..." Kentar stands up quickly. "I know that voice..."

Aikuen blinks toward the door, "Hey... What the?" he asks. As he knows that voice as well. Standing up too.

Of course they know the voice. ITS ROBIN! The stoat steps into the light, the pack Kentar gave him around back. There's a bandage around his forehead this time, and his arm is in a sling. But its Robin. "Hey..." he smiles. Kentar just blinks and folds his arms, looking quite angry. "Robin!" he even sounds angry.

Aikuen is less then angry, more... intrigued really. He runs over to the stoat, "Robin! Matey mate! Your home! Did you bring me anything?" he aaks with a laugh. Checking out the war wounds.

Robin blinks at his dad's tone. He ignores Aik right now. "You know the rules!" Kentar growls out. "You know exactly what they do to deserters..." he then pauses and smiles brightly, jumping up once and giving his son the biggest hug he can manage. "THANK YOU!!!!" he yells out. Robin huhs and erks, hugging back with one arm. "Heh...t-thanks dad!" he smiles. "I ran away...and then...er...sorta fell down a cliff! I couldn't stand to go, I just couldn't." the stoat sighs before looking to Aik. "Yes! Actually!" he laughs.

Aikuen is almost caught in the middle of the hug explosion. Good thing he moved out of the way in time, "You feel down a cliff? So least there is no squirrels in the family" he smirks a bit, "Sides your lovely self i mean?" he grins, "Welcome back mate!"

Kentar chuckles and smiles, pretty much just bouncing up and down, so happy. "I thought I'd never see you again! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!" Robin ergs and pats his dad's shoulder before prying him off. "Yeah. Please don't kill me." he laughs a bit. "I couldn't go. I just couldn't stand the thought of not being around here anymore. Four days...two days out, two days back." he hums. "Yes! Besides me." he chuckles, sliding his pack off slowly and opening it. "Lets see, where did I put it. Ah!"

Aikuen thought that was the joke so he chuckles when there is actually something, "Ohho? What is it mate! Tell me!" he laughs. Then a thought comes through his head. Wont the soldiers come looking for him? D'aw! They leaving tomorrow! Who cares!

Kentar finally lets go and then runs off to tell everyone that Robin's back. Robin is quite happy about that. The first thing he pulls out is Aik's dagger. "Here..." he smiles. "I left a few things behind but I made sure this wasn't one of them." he nods. And then he reaches into the back again, pulling out a uniform. But this isn't a uniform like his. No! This is a healer's uniform! Its blueish, and has some pockets. Also, its light as a feather...mostly...okay, not really light at all, but its still cool looking. "Here! Its got lots of healing pockets and stuff." he nods. "I made sure to steal one in your size from the camp we stopped at." he nods.

Aikuen laughs at Kentar as he runs like a nut, "Hehehehe! Oh thanks Robin! Hello boyo!" he says to his dagger as he sheaths it, "Glad you brought it back. But more glad that you didnt even have to use it..." he then grins at the next thing. Taking it in his paws and holding it out, "Oh wow! We used to have something like this back in the army!" he then hrms at the girth, "Hey! Im not THAT fat!" he laughs loudly, "Thanks mate! Mmm. Im gonna look good!"

Robin laughs and grins. "Says you." he smirks and then nods. "I just thought that since the boat trip is tomorrow, and you're the captain, you could use a uniform that looks good!" he nods. There's even a place to put a name on the left breast if someone wanted to put one there, like his uniform says "Robin" on it.

Aikuen sticks out his tongue as he puts it on. It is a good fit. No matter what Aik says, "Oh. very nice. I might make Fira stitch my rank onto it. Maybe the Ashuran patch..." he gets all nostalgic, "Much better then what had in the service!"

Robin laughs and smiles. "Yeah. And the best part..." he grins. "Is that it really does look good on you!" he laughs with a nod.

Aikuen chuckles as he moves around in it, "Really? Heh. Thanks. Glad i still fit the bill for some things!" he nods and reaches out to shake his paw, "Great to have you back mate. The trip wouldn't be the same without you... Come on. Im gonna get us a little celebration started!" he says as he heads off into the kitchen. Still wearing the darn thing!
