Revisiting the past...why does it seem like everybody is doing that today?

RW Abbey: Late Rose Garden

The Rose garden offers solitude and peace from every-day life of the abbey. A feeling of tranquility is presented through the roses and the open area that seems to flow over everything around.

Buds stud the plants along with greenery that shows through the last remnants of icicles that simplly /won't/ leave. The last vestige of the winter snow has long since melted from the trainquil little spot -- seeing as it's a popular place for young couples it's no wonder that the new carpet of grass under foot is now trampled flat. As it matures it will come back, but for now, it can remain flat. The little buds are already showing their colors, even a few of the early-bloomers beginning to come out and open up. A lovely place to represent spring, no?

Friends: Blisa the cat and Ferdinand the ferret. Ragg the weasel. Nightbreath the ermine.

Blisa has a cold. She hardly ever gets sick, so when she does, she is extremely miserable. Ferdinand has brought her to the Late Rose garden to try and cheer her up, and it helped...a little. He is sitting on a bench with the kitten on his lap, watching birds and leaves and things flutter by.

It's a rather pretty day, and Ragg is determined not to spend it inside. He had been strolling around, when the rose garden caught his eye and he made his way over. He comes in and settles himself in a patch of sunlight; catching sight of Blisa and her guard, he waves cheerfully.

Nightbreath walks in and watches , regarding Blisa and Ragg silently without speaking. /Perhaps,/ he thinks to himself. /But not yet./

Ferdinand nods politely in return, but Blisa, feeling crummy and just downright ill, just sniffs and rubs her eyes, glaring at an innocent stepping stone, and ignores the weasel.

Ragg looks in concern at Blisa, giving Ferdinand a questioning look as he says, "What happened?" He sees Nightbreath enter the garden, and grins, "Hello Nightbreath! I've been meaning to talk to you about something."

Nightbreath smiles briefly in return. "Hail, Ragg. What is it you wanted to speak of?"

Blisa glares up at the weasel as Ferdinand answers, "Mith Blitha hath a cold. The ith mitherable, and I can't do a thing to make her feel better." The kitten sniffs and stuffily says, "I wanna hurt somebeast. That would make me feel better. Can we dig up Stormfeathers' body and burn it?" her body guard looks horrified, and his voice reflects this feeling. "No! Of courthe not! Eew!"

Ragg suddenly feels rather on the spot as Nightbreath speaks. How should he go about saying this? "Um, I was just wondering....is there anything about marriage?" Oh dear, that sounded all wrong. He adds hastily "I mean, Is there anything on marriage, concerning seers?" His attention is returned to Blisa and her guard. He nods sympathetically at Ferdinand's words, but his sympathy is quickly turned to a disturbed gulp, as he mutters, a tad too loud, "Well /somebody's/ feeling blood thirsty"

"It is approved of," Nightbreath says. "We may love and be loved, as any other being. Remember Alastar and the Unnamed Soldier." He says to Blisa softly, "If it brings you any comfort, we never buried him at all from what I know."

Blisa nods decisively at the ermine. "Good, that'll make his bones easier to find." Ferdinand stmubles a little over his words, nto sure how to respond to this level of intensity and hatred, especially since the kitten has never been quite this vicious sounding before...

Ragg nods as the marriage thing is explained, but he gives Nightbreath a rather horrified glare and whispers hoarsely, "Don't encourage her! If she keeps thinking about Stormfeather, she may just happen to find out who I /was/ and I don't even want to know how that will turn out."

"Silence," Nightbreath says swiftly. "Blisa. What is wrong?" He says flatly.

Blisa glares at the ermine. "I have a cold and I feel icky, that's what's wrong!" The whispered words of the weasel barely seep through, but it's enough to get the kitten's attention. "Wait...what'd you say?" Ferdinand sees where this is going and starts to whisper cautions and warnings to the Dibbun.

Ragg's eyebrows go up when Blisa speaks to him, "Uh, what I said is between me and Nightbreath. It would only cause you stress, which you don't need in your delicate state." He finishes this off with a bright smile.

Nightbreath smacks his forehead. Bad idea, Ragg. He braces for the impact...

Ferdinand cringes. Awesome, Ragg. You're doomed now. Blisa shrieks and slides off the ferret's lap, insulted, angry and ready to pick a fight. "My delicate state?! Cause me stress?! How /dare/ you!! I'll have you know that I ain't no delicate little maid that can't handle the truth!! Now what did you say?!" She stamps her foot, feels as if that isn't quite good enough, and so picks up a pebble and prepares to throw it at the weasel's face.

Ragg gulps fearfully at Ferdinand's and Nightbreath's reaction to his little speech. He cant help that he doesn't know the emotional tendencies of the young kitten! He spends about nil time with her, compared to the other two. He takes a quick step back as Blisa slides off the ferrets lap, biting his lip and cursing himself mentally. He holds his paws out in a peace making gesture, saying quickly, if not a tad snappy "Well, I'll hardly be telling you if you have a pebble aimed at my eye!"

Nightbreath stands up suddenly. "I must leave thee to resolve this situation. I go to scout the land; the spirits tell me of darkness shifting in the woods. Ragg, remain here please, I will return in a few days' time."

Blisa throws the rock at Raggs face, screaming, "Tell me!"

Ragg jumps to the side and doges the rock, gritting his teeth, "Fine! Just calm down." He really doesn't want her to get hurt, "I simply said that I didnt want you finding out who I used to be. I was a bit of fool back then and..." He stops speaking for a moment, gulping, "I worked for Stormfeather. If I had the chance to go back and change it, I would, believe me!" He says this last part quickly, trying to get her to see that he isn't as evil as he once was.

Ferdinand groans and covers his eyes. Blisa stutters, then sobs and glares at the weasel with such hatred, he should be able to tell that she now plans to kill him, and nothing, absolutely /nothing/ in this life and in this world (as far as she knows) can stop her. She turns on her heel and runs off. Her bodyguard gives Ragg a look that is a combination of pity and sorrow, then follows after his charge.
