The term Immortal was coined by a band of vermin who suffered raids by the first twelve assassins the Guild trained. Right now only four of the twelve positions are open.

Beneath the Immortals are those who have mastered the ways of the Guild, the Master Assassins. Master Assassins handle tasks that need a skilled execution but are deemed below inconveniencing an Immortal. Master Assassins also take on a Fledgling to mentor and train them.

Assassins are those who have been elevated above the rank of Novice but have yet to truly master the deadly arts. They make up the majority of the Guild and are set a variety of tasks. Although they are below the rank of Master they are still greatly appreciated for their skills and versatility.

Novices are the second from lowest rank in the Guild. These beasts have been promoted from Fledglings but their skill level and dependability are still in some doubt. Despite being trained in its use Novices are denied the right to carry a punching dagger, only when they have proven themselves to be assassins will this honor be bestowed upon them.
