Salamandastron: Caverns - Archery Range

  • -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

As the training room cannot fit a truly adequate, large enough archery range, this large room, down in the caverns of the mountain, has been converted into one. It, in itself, is rather cavernous, and is more long than it is wide. The furthest wall from the entrance is lined with archery targets, at least a ten, and they are each separated by a few feet. Along the closest wall to the door, barrels are placed, containing arrows as well as bows, to practice with. Further, the walls are lined with torches, though the ones behind the archery targets are protected by metal grates, of a sort. The room is relatively well lit, and is usually a moderate temperature.

Quinten is stood in a group of recruits chatting quitely, it seems they have just gotten out of a sling lesson, the lt. who was giving the lesson is heading out of the door

Flaxpaw comes down the corridor whistling tunelessly to herself. She pauses, looking confused at the lt., who stops to talk to her. She nods once. "Yes, sah, I'll tell her." She remarks, not really looking to fussed even though she's missed the lesson.

Quinten spots Flax and waits for the lt. to leave before padding over "Flax where were you...you missed the lesson"

Somewhere on the muck, Niveus has connected.

Flaxpaw grins widely, and throws her arms around you. "oh, just one lesson, who cares. I've met-" she sighs, stepping back. "the most wonderful buck."

Quinten rolls his eyes "Oh ho have you now" he hugs you back and leans back "Well that is good news"

Flaxpaw tilts her head to one side. "Quin, you're not terribly mad, are you, 'bout wot I said?

Quinten shakes his head "No Flaxpaw i forgive you, or at least i will do so as soon as you buy me a drink"

Flaxpaw laughs "I'll buy you more than one drink, first one to apologise and second one to celebrate."

Bandem walks in to the archery range, having been told by a friend that it existed.

Quinten grins and nods "Aye good idea but promise me, no more skipping lessons your in enough trouble as it is"

Flaxpaw laughs "So long as he's not here, I c'n promise." She sees Bandem, and smiles.

Quinten waves at Bandem and frowns at Flaxpaw "No getting in trouble"

Flaxpaw is still smiling like an idiot. "How much trouble c'n you get in? Anyway, I'm not sure how often the temptation will be here." She turns to Bandem, offering a half-salute. "G'day, sah."

Bandem smiles politely and offers a short greeting, "Hello, Flax." He walks to the range, and selects a bow.

Quinten nudges Flaxpaw "Remember ye dinnae need to salute Privates" he nods to Bandem and smiles "Nice to see you Bandem" he looks at Flax "So who is the lucky buck?"

Flaxpaw shrugs "they all out-rank us, don't they?" She takes your arm, heading for a bench. "His name's Calvert. He's from Halyard." She looks a bit shy as she talks about him.

Quinten frowns at that name "I know him....he's a terrible flirt, isn't he the healer for the Badger Apple? Wot was he doing down here?"

Flaxpaw looks surprised. "A flirt?" She hmms. " He was takin a run, I think, not sure really. An yeah, he is a healah."

Quinten nods "Aye or so i heard Miss Apple call him, but i am sure he is like a good hare"

Flaxpaw leans tiredly against you. "It's a mistake, isn't it? Again."

Quinten snugs you "Nah of course it is not, don't listen to me, he's a great chap i bet, Miss Apple was probably joking."

Flaxpaw shakes her head. "I'm not so sure, really. Said somethin about Sorrel." She looks worried.

Quinten shakes his head "Ahhh if i remember he's just friends with Sorrel"

Flaxpaw straightens. " I hope so, though it sounded like more than that."

Quinten chuckles and grins "Look at you, already looking at the negative side of things"

Flaxpaw her smile returns a bit. "well,'s just," she blushes "no buck's ever said anythin like he did t'me. Didn't think bucks really liked me, as doe, you know?"

Quinten nods and claps your shoulder "Want me to give him some tips?" hewinks "I can always seem to woo gabby"

Flaxpaw giggles. "please, no. he's doin more than fine on his own. now, then, enough of my love life. you promised to box with me, remember? I want distractin."

Quinten grins and nods "Sure though i think it was more wrestling then boxing"

Flaxpaw stands. "done." she pauses. "any word on your exams?"

Quinten grins and winks turning up the edge of his uniform collar to show off his epatulet, "Seems i'm now a Long Patrol Recruit 1st Class"

Flaxpaw applauds him. "good job, knew you could do it." She leads the way to the boxing chamber.

Salamandastron: Caverns - Boxing Chamber

  • -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

This room obviously has a rather singular purpose, and that purpose is not hard to discern, if one was only to look around. There is only about ten or fifteen feets worth of space in which to walk, around the perimeter, and the reason for this is that the rest of the space in the room is taken up by a slightly elevated fighting ring. The platform is about two feet above the floor, and upon each corner of the square platform there is a wooden post. Encircling the ring in are lengths of rope extending from each post. The floor of the platform is somewhat giving, as it is in someway padded. So far as the perimeter of the room, chin-up bars attached to the walls are staggered with benches, from which creatures can watch the fights.

  • -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Quinten laughs as he leads you across the corridor and into the boxing chamber, smiling at you "Thanks, i am so happy got the good news this morning," he unbuttons his uniform and drapes it over a bench, he then removes his shirt and pulls on a pair of leather gloves. "Ok then ready for this?"

Flaxpaw nods, ready as she's going to be. "now remember, Quin, I'm really bad at this, not that you should take it easy on me, just, sorry in advance."

Quinten smiles and steps into the ring and nods setting himself "Of course you come at me first"

Flaxpaw steps in to the ring as well, looking hesitant, and steps foreward.

Quinten smiles and just stands there, knees bent, paws slightly apart and a bandanna holding his ears back now, bare chested and shorter then you

Flaxpaw drops into what looks like a cross between a fighters stance and a fencer's stance, throwing a punch with her left paw.

Quinten shifts his head left at the last moment, his paw coming up paw flat to catch your punch, grabbing and twisting to spin you into the ropes

Flaxpaw umphs as she hits the ropes, but turns "how'd you do that? nevermind, show me later." She looks ready, bouncing uncertainly foreward, and jabbing out again.

Quinten sidesteps and trips her with one leg

Quinten sidesteps and trips her with one leg, dancing back out of reach adn chuckling "I just watch your chest, it is like sword play, don't look at what my arms and legs are doing look at my chest and centre.

Flaxpaw rolls to her feet. "like swords, eh?" She smiles at that, bobbing in with a feint to his left cheek, then swinging in to his right flank.

Quinten shifts his weight watching her and ignores the feint catching your swing in his paws, he ducks down moving in, pressing his shoulder into your chest and heaving you oover onto your back

Flaxpaw stays put for a moment looking up, winded, but smiling.

Quinten grins and hops back "You left yourself wide open there, keep your paws in closer"

Flaxpaw climbs up, moving her elbows and paws in front of her, considering him. "Wot would you do now if you were me?" she asks, philosophical tone.

Quinten chuckles and smiles "You'd open your paws wide again, your used to swords" he holds his paws as far apart as you would with a rapier and dagger combo "but in close quarters, unarmed that leaves you wide open"

Flaxpaw laughs at that, still catching her breath a bit from being thrown. "Right." carefully keeping her arms and paws close, she ducks in, trying to catch his left flank with her right paw.

Quinten jumps left of all things and traps your paw between his, knee coming up to press into your stomach gently "And down you would go"

Flaxpaw looks down at your knee and her trapped paw. "Show me slowly, Quin, wot'd I do wrong?"

Quinten steps back and nods he repeats your move slowly "See you hook your elbow out and shift your weight to the left, you need to keep your arm in tight"

Flaxpaw repeats the move, watching her elbow as she tries the move. "Thanks. Basil always spared with me, but never showed me. I just spent the whole time flat on the ground." She chuckles a bit.

Quinten chucklesa nd moves back "That never works....you have to be shown how everyting works, centre your weight too"

Flaxpaw smiles, and nods, adjusting her stance a bit, checking that her paws are in close, watching you expectantly. "an how would you attack?"

Quinten smiles and darts forwards, pressing at your defences with a flurry of feints

Flaxpaw tries to block the feints, arms still up, and darting out sideways, but forgetting to keep them close.

Quinten grins at you as you let your arms drift apart and hits you firmly on the centre of the chest with a grin

Flaxpaw gasps as your paw connects, but returns the grin. "arms too far apart again?" she asks ruefully.

Quinten nods and hops back "Yes you let them drift"

Flaxpaw shakes her head, smiling. "Enough for today, Quin, I need to practice wot you've shown me. Will you humor me again another time?"

Quinten smiles and bobs his head "Of course Flaxpaw will be my honour"

Flaxpaw steps out of the ring, and flops down. "Thanks. you're a good friend."

Quinten hops out and stretches "Hmmmmm yer welcome flax cuse" he hops over to a puncing bag and starts to work out, laying into it rapidly, moving fast and swiftly to attack it

Flaxpaw leaves Quinten's group and wanders off on her own.

Salamandastron: Recreation Room

  • -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

The recreation room for the army of the Longpatrol. Here soldiers come to

relax after a hard day's work and the officers come for a game of cards or

a quick drink by the fire. The room is quite large, having to deal with a

lot of hares at one time. Along one wall there is a large worktop with

some cuhsioned stools lining one side of it. On the other side of the

worktop there stand many kegs and bottles, lined so that they can be

easily opened by someone standing on the inside of the bar but well out of

reach of the rowdy hares on the other side. There are a few woollen cloths

on the bar and mats in front of each stool. The next thing nearest to the

bar are the round tables, each with 4 chairs around and a lantern in the

middle of each one. There are a couple of slightly larger oval tables with

8 seats around, obviously for larger crowds. The other end of the room is

littered with armchairs, comfortable armchairs, each pair with a small

table in between. The armchairs are near the fire, used to heat the room

and provide extra comfort for the relaxing soldiers.

  • -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Darklett has arrived.

Quinten is sat at a table on his own sipping a mug of cordial and looking despondent, prodding a small bowl in front of him, it appears to be full of some kind of dark viscous liquid. the badge on his collar is now that of a 1st Class Recruit and the young buck has several books spread out infront of him

"No, I can't. I'm not supposed to, the healers said. No, I can't beat up the healer, then spar you anyway. No, I can't do it and just not tell anyone."

Darklett stops his walk into the rec room, shaking his head at some upstart recruit who had been begging him for a sparring match. The young first recruit grinned defiantly up at the major, then turned away, mumbling something quite audibly about Darklett being a coward. This is enough to warrant a laugh from the hare, before he, grinning as well, turns to head further into the rec room, waving Neville down. "Usual!"

Quinten looks up at the entrance of the Major and shifts a bit self conciously, he sips his cordial then turns to look back at the bowl before him reading a few lines in the book and nodding

Darklett shrugging off the busy, yet scornful glare Neville gives him, Darklett smirks and makes his way to Quinten's table, having spotted him upon entering. "Hey, congratulations! Knew you'd do fine." He stops at the table, gesturing towards a chair. "Mind if I sit?"

Quinten fidgets and his ears flick "Thank you sir....Colonel let me know this morning...." he nods "Of course sir sit down," he looks about nad chuckles "Seems i got meself a table to myself....that doesn't usually happen in here"

Darklett has a seat, ear folding at the noticing of how fidgety Quinten is. "Yeah, since the lockdown this place has been crowded." A glance goes to the bowl. "...That looks a little stale."

Quinten nods "Aye i wrote about it in my latest life in sala...its really crowded and everywhere stinks of hare..." he looks up and prods the bowl "This oh no am testing fur dye...got to wait for it to dry out"

"Fur dye?" Earperk. Darklett looks intrigued. "Like camouflage?" The major scoots out his chair so he can lean forward on the table, peering into the bowl. "Where'd you learn to make that?"

Quinten blinks and sighs, he's done it now, nevet tell an officer "Yes sah...i found it in an old book, some vermin seasons back used it to dye themselves all blue, its a powder that reacts in water, dyeing a beasts fur, been trying to make a black variant.....not having too much luck so far, can't seem to get it black just real deep blue or purple"

Darklett's lips turn downward. But it's not a frown, it's one of those impressed expressions you give while nodding in approval, which is also what Darklett does. "Huh. Very good-- Better than berries, I'll tell you that much. I luckily didn't have to do that, but-- man, there are a few hares still missing patches of fur from washing it out."

Quinten chuckles and nods "Yes sir...and there are rumours floating about that there is a night exercise planned for the recruits sometime soon, and i didn't like the idea of being stuck dyed purple for days on end whilsst i tried to wash it out" he turns the book to you "When i read this i just had to make it, Lord Russano worked out how to make the dye and how to make a camomile soap to wash it out with too."

Darklett rests back in his chair, tilting the book towards himself. "...Huh. Night exercise?" Dark looks quizzical, one brow raised high above the other. "Sounds interesting enough. Let's hope you can get this finished before then." He slides the book back to Quinten.

Quinten frowns at Darklett, trying to determine if that was a surprised, /never heard of them/ so they are not gonna happen statement or a non-commital /not giving it away/ one. "I think i will be ready to try a full body test in a day or so once i get the colour right sir...." he loosk down and fiddles "But i'm probably stepping over me bounds suggesting something like this, i'm mean i'm only a recruit...."

Darklett shakes his head at Quinten, rolling his eyes. "Quinten, believe me. If the stuff works, you won't be overstepping anything. The mountain'd never function if the officers were the only ones with their thinkin' caps on, you know."

Quinten nods and squirms on his seat fiddling with the new badge on his collar "I hope it works too sir....gonna have to get someone to help spinkle the stuff into me fur when its dry out and see if it works....." he looks up and then back down into his drink "You think.....the officer's use it? i mean uhm..." he trails off and blushes again.

Darklett shrugs. "I guess if they have to." He winks at Quinten. "Lucky for me, the dark fur comes naturally." He puffs out his chest a little, grinning. "If it's between that and blackberries, well... I'm sure they'll choose that any day."

Quinten smiles happily, ears flicking back and forth "Well thats good to know sir...." he shifts the bowl to one side and smiles "And it'd be easier to carry about on patrol too" smiling happily, the major likes the idea, he looks at his dark fur "it really is....so dark"

Darklett looks into the bowl of the dye, snout twisting to the side curiously. "Even if you can't get it to be completely black, at least it looks darker and is less of a hassle than berries. Have you told anybeast else about it?"

Quinten shakes his head then glances at the box with life at sala in it and nods "Uhm...yeah...kind of needed to find something else to write about sah...so uhm...did"

"Oh, right!" Darklett looks back over his shoulder at the box with Quinten's weekly update on life. "I haven't read it since the first one you showed me, how is that going?"

Quinten smiles "Seems to be popular, and of course i was really telling the story of Ungatt Trunn and Lord Brocktree the dye was just mentioned as an idea, didn't say i had a working sample" he pokes it with a pencil tip and grins "Let me get you a drink sah....i feel like celebrating....i passed me exam and had a good idea"

Darklett gives Quinten a blank look for a second or two at the mention of Ungatt Trunn... Of course he'd heard of Lord Brocktree, but the major never claims to be a very good historian. :P "A drink it is!" He looks over to Neville, who still hadn't filled his order, probably out of spite. Nev. What a hare.

Quinten grins and bounces up and hops across to the bar, he flags down Neville and is soon moving back, weaving through the crowds carrying two tankards of ale, rare for Quinten to drink alcohol since Gabby and Ender's talking to him about it, but this is a special occasion "Here we are sir"

Huh. Nev was rather QUICK to respond to -Quinten.- Hmph. Darklett snickers, and takes the tankard from the recruit, raising it to him. "Thanks, cheers!" He tilts it back to his lips and takes a quick draught, licking his lips after.

In a room page-pose, Darklett couldn't think of anything to pose. x.x

Quinten grins and seems to have Nev's favour at least for now, his life at sala article attracts a nice crowd who like to sit about drinking whilst they read it, not that quinten has realised this of course. He sits down again and smiles

"Thanks sir" he takes a pouch out and holds it out to you "This is some of the powder i made yesterday, its the original blue colour, and i tested it on my arm and the soap too" he pushes up his sleeve "it came off ok, but in normal water stayed on."

Darklett smiles, taking the pouch, making sure not to puff any out on himself. "Hm. That might come in handy if we ever need to take a swim while under cover of night..." He ponders, looking up to the ceiling for a moment. "I mean, hopefully we won't -have- to, but just in case. We've got enough on our paws with the Bloodthirsters, and the other vermin that captured Audri, corsairs are the last thing we need, I'm sure."

Quinten nods and passes you a block of the soap it is round and white and smells of camomile "Aye corsairs would juust take the biscuit....have the patrols had any luck finding those vermin yet?"

Darklett shakes his head. "Not so far. At least I haven't heard anything." He takes another swig of his ale, looking down at the soap and taking that little sample as well. "I was hoping they'd double back and look for Audri, and we'd meet them halfway. Catch those cowardly vermin by surprise..."

Quinten nods and flicks his head fur out of his eyes "Would be nice to get em sir, we can;t let them have free reign over the country side like this"

Darklett shakes his head. "Not at all... It'd also be nice to get hares out of the mountain again. Not good to keep 'em cooped up like this... But I made the decision, and it's for safety. Not every hare would be able to defend themselves, and to let some out and not others wouldn't be fair at all."

Quinten nods his head sipping his ale "Of course sir...its just so hard to get anything done everwhere is so crowded....i've been shifted out of the craft room, the garden, even from here because it gets so crowded and you can't get any work done"

Darklett seems to be thinking of how to resolve the problem immediately, but after a few sips of his ale, he shakes his head. "I don't know. I'll talk to the Colonel... Maybe if, in a few more days, there hasn't been word of vermin, we'll cut some slack on the lock-in... Maybe."

You say, "Your in charge sah, you do what is best for us, i trust you" he smiles over is tankard and licks up some of the foam on the edge "i've found the odd quiet corner to hide in""

Darklett rubs his thumb along the rim of the mug, ears swaying slightly in thought. "...We could always schedule free time outside... Instead of doubling sentry duty on the crater and in the sentry room, just move those hares outside to the beach to keep watch..."

Quinten smiles letting his officer talk out loud "Could work sir....maybe send a few more patrols out to scout around the permeter of the mountain?" he suggests cautiously, what does he know after all he's a teenager"

Darklett shakes his head slowly. "I don't know if the perimeter of the mountain would be a good idea... But good that you're thinking. If the vermin got all the way to the perimiter, then the hares on the crater would have seriously been missing their job, and... Well, the entire mountain may be at stake. But there isn't any cover, so... As long as we have sentries looking now, they won't be able to hide themselves very long. If they're there, that is."

Quinten nods and taps the table top with a claw trying to remember his strategy lessons "Well...what about the swamps to the south? they could easily be hiding out in those?"

"It's possible, but... Not probable." Darklett nods to Quinten. "According to Audri, they were northbound. No reason to pass up the mountain that far just for a hiding spot-- No, I don't think they're planning to attack the mountain just for a squirrel."

Quinten nods his head "Hope so sir...don't think i'm ready to be facing vermin in battle just yet" he grins "though i hope by the end of spring i'm ready to take me next exams"

Darklett furrows his eyebrows at Quinten's self-doubt. "...You don't think so?" The major looks at Quinten analytically, lifting the mug and speaking over its rim before sipping, "Why not?"

Quinten leans back in his chair "I may be good at close combat sir but i'm still learning the sabre" he sips his ale againa nd looks at the dark hare "Its hard as i don't really have an instructor who deals with sabres"

Somewhere on the muck, Taye has disconnected.

Darklett twists his face. "Teach yourself. You'll know you're good when you can fight with anybeast, using any weapon, with your sabre." He shakes his head. "Don't need an instructor. I never had one." The major smirks and leans back in his chair again. "Well, unless you count myself."

Quinten frowns and then shifts sitting up straight "Ok sir...i'll keep practicing it i'll be beating you in know time, of course youth being an unfair advantage on my side" he chuckles eyes twinkling "and if worse comes to worse i am sure i can always close in and disarm you in close quarters combat"

Darklett blinks at the recruit, looking amused enough. "Well, of course. I hope so, anyway. We'll spar sometime, I should be a good warmup for you, or something." Snerk. "I still do some extra teaching in the training room after classes, and after dinner, though I'm not sure if you need it."

Quinten tilts his head to one side "What kind of training sir?" feeling pride tht you think he doesn't need it, ears standing up taller "I can always learn more..."

"Mostly swords, sabers, longswords, short swords... Just recruits that want to learn more about how to fight." The major shrugs. "Like I said, though. It's all basic; I can't really effectively teach what I'm not qualified to teach, you know?"

Darklett adds, "I mean, you probably won't learn anything from it."

Quinten smiles "I think i'd like to come along anyway sir...i can still practice its all good, not every session maybe...got me woodworking an writing to do too.....got to fit it all in and now my experiments with dye.." he glances at the bowl which has slowly been drying out

"Right, wouldn't want the work to take up all your time. It's just extra stuff that I saw they didn't cover in the classes." Darklett scratches the back of his head, shaking it before lowering his paw. "I'd like to get back to training, myself, soon."

Quinten nods "Hopefully the healers will give you the go ahead soon sir, seems like ages since you were injuured, not been the same without you about" he swirls his drink and then looks "Oh...did you know private Seven was in themountain the other day?"

Darklett nods. "Yeah, I've seen him, had a quick word with him even. Glad to have him back-- Healthy, no less. Just another reason for me to get healthy quicker, I guess. One more hare depending on me." He sighs, rubbing a paw through his headfur and drinking from his mug-- the latter action perhaps hiding the feeling behind the former.

Quinten nods missing the worried headfur rubbing "Aye...though he was dressed realy oddly and wouldn't say more then two words to me, he's kind of freaky sir....heard many recruits muttering about his outfit"

"...Heh. I guess I had a warning." Darklett takes another drink, setting the mug down on the table. "Audri told me that he looked like a vermin before he got to the mountain, so I wasn't as surprised as some others were. Looked scary, that's for sure. Hope he's gotten a bath by now, though..."

Quinten wrinkles his nose "Ugh he stank quite nasty sir....what did those vermin do to him? he was acting almost like one when i spoke to him with Audri,"

Darklett shrugs. "Beats me. I don't know, really, but it helped him get back Audri... I guess they thought he was a vermin, and he snuck Audri out without being suspected." His paws both wrap around the mug, hugging it in their grasp. "Of course, he might need to adjust back into being a hare, so I wouldn't worry about it."

Quinten nods and empties the last of his tankard "Aye sir i'll try not to worry about it and just concentrate on me training and my experiment" he grins "If you see a strange black hare about the mountain in the next fews days you'll know it sme"

Darklett earflicks as he chuckles, nodding in understanding. "Alright, then. Though if I start greeting you as a new recruit, just let me know it's you before I make too much of an idiot out of myself, alright? Heh..."

Quinten smiles mischieviously "O sah....i'd nnever do tha....not to you..." he smirks "Though i can think of a couple of people...it might be fun...to mislead fer a bit"

"Oh! Walk up to them and call 'em by their names..." Darklett snickers into his mug before he drains it, gulping down the last of the liquid. "Haha... Just to see the looks on their faces..."

Quinten grins and nods "you got it sah.....especially Gabby...imagine if i walked up and just kissed her" he can't help but laughing at that idea

Darklett sputters through his lips for a second, ears flicking merrily. "Ohoho... Aw, wow. Just make sure I'm around so I can see what happens after, haha!"

Quinten grins and nods "you bet i will sah, just make sure you rescue me if it goes bad on me"

Darklett nods. "I'll be standing close by to break things up, though if she starts clawing, I'm on healers' orders to keep it easy..." He laughs more, leaning back hard in his chair and rocking on the back legs for a moment, holding himself in place with his footpaws on the center post of the table.

Quinten chuckles and prods the bowl "Hmm think i'll ask Taye to help out too....he's always up for some fun"

Darklett's laughter fades off, and he's simply grinning. "Yeah... Be careful though, somebeasts don't take kindly to jokes like that. Make sure you're not hurting any feelings, okay?"

Quinten nods his head "Yes sir i'll be careful, am doing this mainly for its practical uses"

"Good, good. If it works out well, it looks like we have a new camouflage, heh heh..." Darklett lowers himself back down to the floor, and grabs his mug, standing up. "Though, I have to be off. Recruits'll be waiting for me in the training room anytime now..."

Quinten nods is head "Ok sah" he stands up gathering up the book nad bowl "I'm gonna go dry this out properly so i can test it tomorrow"

Darklett grins. "Can't wait to see it. See you around, recruit." He heads out of the rec room, eventually down to the training room.

Quinten stretches and stands up, moving out to go back to his dorm and try and speed up the drying out of the mixture by his fire.
