Salamandastron: Library - Corner of the Library
- -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
This is the cornered-off section of the library where the older,
historical books of Salamandastron are kept. Two of the walls of this small
room-like area are stone, and two are simply bookshelves, but as they do
reach nearly to the ceiling, they serve, well enough. This is, in fact,
one of the librarys corners. A small table, with two chairs, is propped
in the corner, but no books are left on this table. The care of these
elderly books is taken seriously, by all, and if a certain hare does
not, they are likely to be dragged back here to remedy the situation, by
the librarian hare.
- -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Audri has set up her own little camp in the library's corner, a small
plate of food resting on the table beside her while a blanket rests
folded in her chair. She hasn't looked like she's slept for awhile, various
parchments with sketches litter the table while the squirrel works on
yet another one, head resting on her paw in thought.
Quinten comes walking into sight from around a bookshelf, humming to
himself quietly a book held under one arm, he catches sight of the
squirrel and smiles "Audri good day" he says quietly moving over towards her
Audri ears flick, eyes remaining on her sketch as she continues to
draw. "Evenin' Quint." She murmurs, glancing up for only a moment to bring
her scattered parchments closer and out of sight of the buck.
Quinten frowns as she looks up at him, noting the bags under her eyes
"Hey Audri...how you doing down here?" he moves closer and puts his book
down
Quinten taps it "Battle Strategy of the battle of Lord Stonepaw, where
he lost the mountain the Blue Horde"
Audri nods slowly, nose crinkling in thought. "Sounds interestin'. So,
did ya pass yer test for bein' a patrollah yet?"
Dande then appologises for Mister Blair* I realy am sorry, i wasn't old
enough to vote when he was put in charge" (Group chat: Long-Patrol)
"Well, I hope ya pass then. Sure ya will though iffen ya survived
takin' it." Audri sips her cider again, resting it back on the table as she
pulls out a small piece of cloth to fiddle with. "Just things."
Quinten nods and decides not to pry looking closely at her "Have you
been sleeping properly? you look ill and worn out"
Audri shrugs, wrapping the cloth that resembles a handkerchief around
her paw, propping her footpaws on the tabletop. "S'pose so. I just
haven't felt like sleepin' much lately."
Quinten frowns and nods "Well you make sure you get enough sleep ok?
don't want you confined to the infirmary again now do we?" he sits down
in a nearby chair "So how is your dad?"
Quinten smiles and fiddles with his book and opens it to a page "Have
you read this one?" he says changing the subject "It is quite
interesting, its about this vermin horde and they all, every single one of them
except their leader dyed themselves blue from head to tail tip"
Audri shakes her head, tail beginning to flick behind as her eyes
return to the buck. "Nah. Though the one on Lord Sunwothisname was pretty
interestin'. I most read the old journals o' patrollers though. Or
histories on the mountain."
You ask, "Well wot do you think this is? It was the first and only time
vermin have ever taken the mountain from the badgers and driven the
Long Patrol out, old Lord Stonepaw died, drowned in the underground spring
delaying the vermin to give the last hares to escape.""
"Yea, well I haven't got to the really old histories. I'll read it
later though." Audri says, fingers twisting at the cloth while she snuggles
back in her seat.
Quinten nods and turns a page smiling and shaking his head "I'm really
tempted to find the plant they used to make the blue dye, it is common
apparently, you ground it up with dockleafs, srpinkled and rubbed it
into their fur and then bathed, when they came back out they were dyed
blue, sounds like it could be quite fun to experiement with." not
noticing her discomfit
Audri's nose crinkles, head tilting in thought. Hm. "Why don't ya just
use blueberries? I'm sure that would make ya blue for awhile." Audri
mumbles, eyes glancing off towards the hallway. "Has Zeraph woken up
anymore? Cause he always seems asleep when I go up to visit him."
Quinten looks up "Yes he has been awake a couple of times, he's up and
about too a bit now, doing quite good though he still tires out easily"
he looks at the book again "Ahhh but i don't want to use blueberries so
crude, this stuff sounds quite good, and if i can adapt it to make it
black...."
"Oh. Well, maybe I'll try again then to go see him." Audri shrugs, lips
pursing thoughtfully as she goes back to twisting her cloth. "Well, ya
have to use what ya have available. 'n since no one is suppose to leave
the mountain, then I doubt ya'll find that stuff anytime soon."
Quinten nods his head and turns another page "Yeah shame...still i
might find some in the infirmary store....i'll ask if i can have a look" he
grins at her "Can't say no to a few extra credit points in my favour"
Audri shrugs again, seeming to be thinking on something else. "S'pose,
but I think its an awful silly way to make yerself blend in. 'n what if
it don't wash out for awhile."
Quinten taps a paw on the current page "Ahhh but the means of dying it
out is in here too,"
Quinten taps a paw on the current page "Ahhh but the means of dying it
out is in here too," he looks up and frowns "You ok? am i boring you?
distracting you? or would you rather i left you alone?"
Audri hms, ears perking up. "Oh, no yer fine. I was just thinkin' on
somethin' is all. But, it is interesting I guess though I don't think I'd
want to dye my fur a whole new color."
Quinten chuckles "Neither would i but we usualy dye our fur dark blue
or black for night missions, i figured if i could make a proper sye that
was easy to wash out....it would help some"
Audri blinks, head tilting once more. "I've never known anyone to dye
themselves for missions. But, course they might be lookin' for new
techniques for missions I suppose."
Quinten looks up "Didn't you hear about the mission down to recue the
hostages from the Bloodthirsters? Everyone was dyed with blue berries
except your dad as he's already black took them days to get clean"
Audri shakes her head, nose crinkling. "Nah. Taye never told me about
that. But that mighta been the one he wasn't allowed to go on."
Quinten nods "Might be, i remember i was meant to be in bed but a group
of us snuck up to the Badger Lords old rooms and watched em coming back
from th windows"
Audri nods, nose still crinkled. "Well, I'm sure ya'll get points then
for mentioning it."
Quinten nods and turns a page "Hmmm might have to write about this in
the next life at Sala...after i've done some experimenting"
Audri nods again, eyes trailing off towards the hallway while her
fingers continue to tear up her poor cloth. "Yea. Sounds good Quint."
Chewing her lip, she slowly begins to sit up in her chair, scooting towards
the edge. "I think I might run upstairs for a minute."
Quinten nods his head standing up and closing his book "Ok Audri...want
me to come with you? we'll go see him together?"
Audri blinks, squinting at the buck in confusion. "Who said I was goin'
there? I wanted to go get some more cordial from Nev. Sides, ya
probably want to do more research on that dye."
Quinten nods his head and sits back down "Oh ok sorry, just you were
asking after him so i made a guess, well if you want to be alone i'll
stay down here and do some work"
"Tis a'right." Audri murmurs, rising from her chair, stuffing the cloth
in her pocket. "I'll see ya later Quint." Grabbing her back with her
various parchments, the squirrel slips out into the hall, tailtip
twitching.
Quinten nods and wvaes goodbye before turning back to his book and
pulling out a pad and snaffling an inkpot off another dresk and starting to
make notes.
Salamandastron: Infirmary
- -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
This is the infirmary for the long patrol. This room is one of the
most well lit rooms in the whole of Salamandastron, with several candles
placed strategically along the shelves and cupboards. Many wooden beds line
the walls of this room, each outfitted with impeccably clean white linen
sheets. This unfortunately limits the walking space in this room.
Where there are not beds there are shelves and cabinets that hold a variety
of different medical equipment, mostly needles and bandages. A single
stone sink is firmly lodged into one of the counters. The sink is not fancy,
in fact it is quite awkward. It is a necessity, nonetheless. An open
closet is in the corner of the room, storing a surplus of compact cots, in the
unusual case of mass injuries. The room usually has several nurse hares
in it, roaming around tending to various injuries.
- -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
The healers have left Zeraph alone about now, perhaps by request of the
Lieutenant. Or maybe he's just too lethargic to worry about anyway. The
buck has propped himself up in bed against a number of pillows, eyes
closed and using his hearing as the main sense. The bandaging has finally
been removed from his cheek, and a scar traces up his cheek, quite
obviously made by teeth at this stage of healing.
Two tuft ears appear in the infirmary doorway before Audri's head pokes
around the frame, peering into the room curiously. Her body looks thin
and frail as she steps inside, fingers tapping her mug of spiced cider
as she quietly makes her way to Zeraph's cot. "Ya awake?" She murmurs
softly, biting her lip as an afterthought.
Both ears tip back in a quick motion as Raph opens both eyes to glance
towards Audri. The softest of smiles is given, seeming to become more
of a smirk as it favors the uninjured side. "..evening.." He speaks,
looking tired and voice coming out much more like a gruffer form of his
usual.
The faintest of grins crosses Audri's face, the maid taking a few steps
closer to the buck's cot. "Hey. Thought I'd come for a visit iffen ya
feel up to some company 'n all." She murmurs, slipping onto a stool
beside his cot, fingers still tapping her mug.
Zeraph huffs, looking down at the covers as he nods his head in
understanding. "Of course.. And I don't mind.." It may be the most he's said
in a while. He watches Audri, glancing her over, then clears his throat.
"Are you doing alright, then?"
"A'right. Iffen ya get tired just tell me 'n I'll leave." Audri says,
taking a small sip of cider. Her ears slowly begin to pin back, chewing
her lip hesitantly before shrugging her shoulders. "Been a'right I
guess. Probably could be better."
Zeraph tilts his head to the side in a questioning way. A silent
inquiry. The officer doesn't have to say much at all with this one, ears
splaying back even.
Quinten pads through the door to the infirmary, he waves to Audri and
salutes the major and hops into the store cupboard at the back and
starts rummaging about
Audri fidgets in her chair at the appearance of the recruit, head
dipping down. "Umm..well ya probably gonna hear about it soon enough. Just
don't get too worked up or nothin' cause I don't want the healahs mad at
me. Anyway, I kinda got kidnapped by these hired swords 'n was with
them for a bit before I escaped then I got sick from my wound gettin'
infected 'n now I can't really sleep." She mumbles, trying to keep Quint
from hearing since many don't know about the lack of sleeping. "So, now
the mountain's on lockdown 'n they're tryin' to find the ones that did
it."
Zeraph grunts, whiskers giving a worried flick. "Vermin.." He mutters.
This is all for a moment. Finally. "..I'm glad you got out, Audri." The
buck looks towards where Quinten disappeared, noting her distraction
and worry. Slowly he leans forward, as much as he can without pain, and
he goes to rest his paw on one of hers. "Audri.. being able to sleep
well is all in your mind..."
Quinten walks back out carrying several packets under his arm, he's
stopped by a healer and starts talking to them explaining what he wants
them for, speaking enthusiasticly to convgince them to let him have them
Audri grins again, though its faint. "Me too." She nods, ears now
resting flat against her head. "That's what da says, but I keepin' seein'
those beasts get killed 'n I don't wanna sleep cause o' it."
Zeraph sighs, still with the one paw rested on Audri's, but leaned back
a little more now. "You probably wouldn't believe.. but it happens to
us all. When I first saw someone killed - or had to kill..." He grunts a
little in pain, one arm folding around his middle. There is a pause,
before he continues. "I couldn't sleep. You know what helped?" The buck
looks up to the squirrel.
Quinten grins and bobs a bow to the healer thanking them happily for
letting him have what he has taken, he begins to move across the room
towards the others, going to say hello as Zeraph is awake but taking his
time
"I know. Taye had trouble with his first kill but he seemed to get ovah
it better than me." Audri murmurs, head tilting curiously at the grunt.
She shakes her head afterwards at his next question, nose crinkling.
"What helped with it?"
Zeraph slowly smiles. "You're going to laugh. But praying helped with
the nightmares. Don't know why. Someone told me to do it, so I did." The
Lieutenant doesn't move his arm from away from his side. "..and I know
I'd rather.. you not. But after a while you become desensitized to
it.."
Quinten stops at the end of the bed, just out of ear shot and waggles
his ears in a polite greeting
Audri tilts her head, face twisting up in a thoughtful expression,
seeming to contemplate this. Finally she bobs her head in a nod, grinning
slightly once more. "I'll try that to see iffen it helps. So, how're ya
feelin'?"
Zeraph smiles softly at Audri and nods his head. "It won't hurt." Then
he seems to ponder on his situation. Finally. "I'm tired, mostly. Pain
every now and then.."
Quinten coughs politely and salutes "Good day Liuetenant sir, thought
i'd say hello as you were awake and see how you are feeling."
Audri bobs her head in a nod, sipping her cider. "That's good ya aren't
in pain all the time. Ya actually scared me once when I was up here
visitin' da." Her ears flush a faint red as Quint talks, fingers tapping
her mug nervously as she grows silent, wondering if the recruit heard
anything.
Zeraph gives Audri a reassuring smile. "Sorry." And then Quinten gets
his attention. The officer doesn't return the salute, and it is very
different to see him have a more dull look in his eyes, as well as the
scar up his cheek. "Thanks Quinten.."
Quinten nods his head and chews his bottom lip "You....recovering ok
sah? everyones been worried about you, and Audri here....after her
incident with the kidnappers"
"Tis a'right. Just another lesson o' life." Audri murmurs, ears
flushing deeper as Quint mentions the incident. Fidgeting on her stool, the
maid sips at her cider, while her free paw fiddles with a bit of cloth in
her pocket.
Zeraph watches Audri's reactions and his ears perk somewhat, before
cocking back and turning to Quint again. "Well... I'm not going to die.
That's well enough." It's a joke mostly. The buck smiles, glancing back
to the squirrel.
Quinten smiles and nods "That's good to hear sir, you'll be throwing me
about the boxing ring in no time, i did me exams....to get to first
class"
Audri remains in her quiet state, seeming fine to just sip her cider
while the two talk. Her ears cant forward though at the mention of the
exam."
Zeraph's eyebrows lift in a curious expression. "Oh? You did well?" His
voice is sounding better, but who knows how long his more coherent
state will last.
Quinten smiles and nods "I think so sah, waiting on my results to be
published, got to wait to be called to the Colonel's office"
Audri shifts on her stool, drawing one leg up to rest her arms on. Her
fingers still tap at her mug, eyes looking about the infirmary as she
seems to be drifting off on another thought.
Zeraph nods his head. "That's good. When you pass, come and tell me."
The officer seems confident that he has done well then, at least.
Audri's gazing about resumes it's hold on his focus. He clears his throat
again.
Quinten smiles and nods his head "I will do so sir, am currently
working ona pet project, was reading an old history book and came across a
recipe for a type of fur dye"
Audri blinks, coming out of her thoughts and quickly glancing to
Zeraph. "Ya want anything to drink at all Zeraph?" She asks, straightening up
some as her fingers cease their tapping.
Zeraph smiles more appreciatively at Audri. "That'd be nice." They must
have him on some sort of drug or something. The buck is seeming to be
more calm than usual. Or that is.. more calm in the parental sense. And
Quint has his attention again. "Fur dye?
Quinten nods his head "Yes sir i was reading up about the rescue with
the hostages, and how you all used berry dye to dye your fur and blend
in, but i saw how hard it was to get it out afterwards, the recipe in
this book comes with a handy recipe for stripping the dye back out easily
with a form of soap. Thought i'd experiment with it some"
Audri nods, setting down her mug before slipping off her stool.
"A'right. Be right back then." Instead of going to the water pitcher, she
slips out into the hallway. She reappears after a few minutes, carrying yet
another mug and a small jam pastry. Audri returns to Zeraph's bedside,
offering the two with a small smile. "Thought ya might like a bit o' a
treat."
"I'd offer myself up as an experiment.. but.." Raph trails off, with a
grin, then he suddenly realizes that Audri has returned. And /look/ a
jam pastry! The officer's mind goes to that. "Thanks." He reaches out
his paws to take the mug and treat, which shows the multiple cuts that
are forming into scars across his arms. Oy.
Quinten smiles softly and nods "Of course sah bit of a proposition to
test it on you, i'll test me self i think," he eyes the treat and looks
about "Best eat it quick sah before a healer sees it" he winksa t Audri
Audri's ears lower as she catches sight of the little scars, but a
smile remains as he seems pleased by treat. "Ya welcome. I'll try to sneak
ya in some more later on." She replies, retaking her seat and grabbing
her own mug to sip from.
Zeraph actually goes about nibbling on the pastry. His appetite is not
as it used to be, notably, but who's going to turn down a treat? He
smirks at Quint. "If /any/body tries to take this.. I'll bite /them." The
mug is cradled to his chest for later partaking of beverage.
Quinten chuckles and nods "Well protect you sah don't worry not going
to let the rotters get away with stealing your treats, i mean look at
our Audri all that infirmary food has left her skin and bones" he smiles
at the squirrel and waggles his ears
Audri actually giggles at this, looking like her old self for once. She
doesn't make a comment though at Quint's statement, taking another
drink of cider.
Zeraph grunts, lowering the pastry from his mouth. "Quint, lad, do I
really have to tell you about what's rude to speak of about a lady?" He
squints a little at the recruit, then winks with a smile at Audri. He
takes a sip of the mug's contents.
Quinten blinks and shuffles "Uhm...sorry sah...sorry Audri bad taste of
joke there just trying to lighten the mood wot....i'll erm slip away
shall i?"
"Tis a'right Quint. Don't worry on it." Audri mumbles, resting her mug
down on her lap, tail flicking back and forth. The mug of the buck
holds a spiced apple cider since alcohol is a no no with drugs. XD
Of course Raph notes the non-existence of alcohol in the drink right
away, however he doesn't make a fuss. She is looking out for him after
all. "Cheer up Audri... You're so pretty when you smile." The officer
drinks more of the cider.
Quinten smiles at Audri and nods "He is right you know you do have a
beautiful smile, makes your ears perk up and tail bounce"
Aw. Audri grins some, ears burning red as she bobs her head in a nod.
"I'll try Zeraph." She replies, fidgeting on her stool which is starting
to grow uncomfortable. Audri squints her eyes at Quint, head tilting to
the side. "My tail doesn't bounce."
Zeraph coughs. This is because having been drinking when Quinten
started to say this, and Audri's reaction only makes it worse. The buck
begins to cough against his arm, eyes closed. Oh dear... XD
Quinten erks and hurries around the side of the bed to steady the lt.
and support th emug making sure it is not spilt "maybe its me eyes am
always hopping up and down after all"
Audri's ears quickly shoot up, attention turning to Zeraph with a very
serious look. "Ya aren't chokin' are ya?" She asks quickly, scooting to
the edge of her stool. "That sounds strangely like a drunk beast
y'know."
Zeraph coughs more. Quinten may just be making it worse. He holds the
mug away from him, so that the recruit can take it if he so wishes. The
officer shakes his head at Audri's question.
Quinten takes the mug and steps back looking worried "Lt....are you
ok...uhm...er..."
Audri opens her mouth to say something before quickly closing it. Hrm.
She slips off her stool, edging closer to the coughing hare, leaning
over to whisper something in his ear.
Erk. Raph's ears perk in a rapid movement as he lowers his arms from
his muzzle and glances sideways to the squirrel maid. With one more
cough, the Lieutenant clears his throat. "I'm... fine." He mumbles.
Quinten hops from paw to paw "Erm here sir have a drink to clear your
throat wot"
Audri squints at the lieutenant, paws on her hips in a serious manner.
"Ya sure?" She glances at Quint, smirking slightly at the hopping. "I
think he just drank it wrong."
Zeraph slowly goes to take the mug back from Quinten. "Yes, Audri. I'm
sure." He rests his mouth against the glass and sips upon it.
"Exactly.."
Quinten nods and settles down on both footpaws "Ok sorry to make you
choke sir"
Audri's nose crinkles, head finally bobbing in a nod as she goes back
to her stool. "A'right." A ghost of a yawn appears from the maid who
tries to hide it with her paw. "So, anythin' else ya need at all Zeraph?"
Zeraph shakes his head in response, lowering the mug again. "No." He
rasps, clearing his throat again after this one. "Are you needing sleep
then?"
Quinten shifts the packets in his arms and steps back ears flicking
Audri bites her lip, shoulders lifting in a small shrug.
"Maybe..probably yea." She mumbles, not seeming pleased at the fact her weariness is
showing once again.
"If you'd like.. I'm sure you could sleep in here tonight.. the cot by
mine is empty." Zeraph gestures towards it with a nod of his head, to
indicate what is already obvious. Quinten's shifting gets a curious
look. "You alright?"
Quinten nods ears flicking up "I'm fine sir, just juggling these about,
i should get back to my experiment"
Audri's ears perk up, head lifting to glance over to the cot before
looking to Zeraph with a small smile. "Ya think that'd be alright then?
Cause I don't want the healers to be mad or nothin'."
Zeraph glances over the recruits juggling, then nods his head.
"Perhaps.. Though it's been nice having company.." Audri is given a smile and a
dismissive wave of his paw. "Of course not. It'll just be an extended
visit.. Like you're all worried about me." Dry chuckle.
Quinten grins and moves to put the packets down on a side table "Its ok
sir, i can stay for a bit longer"
Audri nods, slipping off her stool to make her way to the empty cot
beside him. "Yea, well that is true since I do worry about ya." She says,
sitting down on the with a grin. Lying down, she draws the blanket up
around herself, curling up into a little ball, eyes beginning to drift
shut. "Thanks for the advice Zeph."
Zeraph's gaze follows Audri over to the cot and he nods his head, with
that reassuringly smile then. "Anytime, Audri. And I'll be here if you
need me at any point..." Another gulp of cider is taken. "So, Quint,
anything else been happening?" He looks to be growing more exhausted too,
though he's trying not to show it.
Audri nods, mumbling some incoherent gibberish as she begins to drift
off. Soft breathing soon comes from the squirrel maid who seems to be
having a peaceful slumber for the moment.
Quinten smiles and moves to tuck the blankets more firmly about Audri
and moves back to sit on the side of Zeraph's cot "Not much sir....got
me self a girlfriend, Dandelion did his exams too and so did Terrance"
At first, one of Zeraph's ears - the unspeared one- stays cocked
towards the squirrel close to him so that he may hear everything. But then
the girlfriend thing gets him. Both ears lift. ".../Girl/.. friend?"
Quinten looks at Zeraph and nods smiling "Yeah the Colonel showed me
the error of me way with bucks ye see, she gave me a right talking to,
showed me i was wrong," he shivers and his eyes look haunted for a moment
at the memory and then it passes "She's called Gabby and she's Mister
Ender's great great great great erm...several more greats grand niece"
This explanation gets a mixed reaction from the Lieutenant. At first,
his brows and ears both sail upward in a startled position, then the
audits tilt back as he scowls a little, looking curious. Zeraph blinks.
"..what?" He cocks to the side.
Quinten blinks "Wot didn't you understnad sir? aye'm dating a nice doe
called Gabby"
Zeraph eyes Quinten. "That's.... not what I meant.."
You ask, "What did ye mean sah? About the talk wid the colonel?""
Audri has disconnected.
Zeraph scowls as he nods. "Yeah.. and this.. you're suddenly not into
bucks thing." The Lieutenant glances sideways at Audri as she dozes on,
hoping that she stays peaceful like that through the night.
Quinten frowns "not sudden sah been over a month and a half, nearly two
months sah, the colonel set me straight" sitting up straighter, ears at
attention
This reaction only elicits /more/ scowling from Raph. "'The colonel set
me straight..'" He mumbles, repeating the younger buck's last
statement. "...like there was something wrong with you before?" The officer
doesn't appear too pleased with this.
Quinten nods his head firmly, seemingly quite convinced it would appear
"Yes sir, she told me how wrong it was, what i was feeling for greg,
kept me in there for several hours she did, and i'venever been happier
with Gabby"
Zeraph shakes his head. "I'm sorry kiddo... but Colonel's aren't always
right. Treating you like you're some kind of.. odd freak just cause of
what you choose in /your/ life." The buck sighs, looking off to the
side and ears pinning back. "I'd wished you hadn't changed." When he'd
just gotten used to the idea really too..
Quinten tilts his head to one side, ears flopping that way "I haven't
changed sir, i'm still the same old Quinten sir, nothing has changed
just me realtionship, aye even set.." he lowers his vvoice "Even set Greg
up wid freddie so i did"
Zeraph glances at Quinten. "And how long do you think that will last
before the Colonel ruins other's lives again?"
Quinten looks at you "I'll not let her know sah, unless you do, or you
tell Major Darklett sir, you told him sir and he told her" he stands up
and gathers his packets "Well sir i need to get to class so later"
Zeraph blinks at Quint, then he scowls a little. "..Wait.." This is
gruffer than the rest, as it has slowly been sounding like it's getting
harder and harder for him to talk.
Quinten pauses and looks back at him "Yes sir?" he asks politely
smiling at him still
The polite smile makes Zeraph just go silent and he settles back
against the pillows again, eyes closed. "Nevermind. Good night."
You say, "Good night sir, i'll come up tomorrow, see how your doing and
slip you a treat, goodnight" he salutes and leaves the infirmary with a
quick jaunty step"
