Possible Theives Guild?

We seem to have an influx of dastardly villains lately. From war lords to slavers to poisoners to assassins, we seem to have every spectrum of evil and ruthlessness, except for thieves. Perhaps we can fix this problem with a thieves guild.

A thieves guild, (at least in other rpgs and stories) is as the name implies a group of trained thieves, pickpockets, and scoundrels who form a group. They take jobs from others to rob or steal from places or persons of interest, taking a share of all their employees earnings in exchange for benefits. For example providing a hiding place for when the thief needs to dissapear. Basically the medi evil equivalent of a mafia, or something similar to that.

Keep in mind this is all speculation at this point. The guild head quarters would have to be chosen, do they operate only in mossflower, only elsewhere, maybe both. Should we find them a big city to operate in? What will they be called? etc etc.

The first question would be however, would people enjoy making some thiefy alts, or using present alts, to make up a thieves guild? This would be a group and not just a party that lasts for a single TP. I always prefer running stories with a bit of randomness over scripted stories, so whether or not the guild survives or falls will be left strictly up to the players and their actions.

As of the moment nothing is set in stone, even the leader of a guild, the name, or its members. Or as I said, even where it is located. It would be open to all species and alignments ranging from good to evil to in between.

What about you forum goers? Does anyone have any ideas to add? Alts they want to send to a thieves guild, or align with one?
