Halyard Village: Main Street

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Halyard Village ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

This is the main street of Halyard Village. However, for being the main

street, its not terribly impressive. Like most of the rest of the village,

the homes and buildings that line this street are sound, at best. The purpose

of the architecture is obviously efficiency, not elegance. The buildings are

short and squat, none any higher than two levels, and a good few windows are

covered in a fine grit; a combination of salt, sand, and dirt. The foremost

profession of the village becomes apparent with a simple glance around,

fishing nets and other such paraphernalia littering the area out front of

many of the buildings. So far as the living component of the street, a few

vendors are usually out and about, attempting to sell their products, among

them fish and other such foodstuffs, but without much success. It is, after

all, a small village.

Magus walks along the streets and looks around. He keeps his hood up and over his head as he walks and staff in his paw. He passes varies beasts whom are out doing varies things.

Garth keeps close to the ferret, "So..where we going boss? Maybe we can stop and eat somewhere here soon."

Magus looks at the stoat and hmmphs a little "I seek a beast I need to speak to and they are close to this area of town, I have plans I wish to put into motion sort of speak..plans that can make one acquire gold if done correctly."
Garth looks interested, "Gold? I like the idea of gold, but how do we get it? Pick pocket or rob someplace, so we do odd jobs here and there?" He waits on a reply.
Vatra is walking up the edge of the alley, pausing at the threshold of the main street. Her ears rotate around before she steps out, eyes narrowing at the sudden sharpness of sunlight. "Nice, hare-less day, isn't it lads?" The vixen says in a pleased tone to the stoat and ferret walking close by.
Magus smirks, he scans the area till he sees a wildcat and starts to head over to them when he sees the vixen, "I would say hares are annoying, I dislike them so a day without them is good indeed."
Garth starts to lay a paw on his sword when he first sees the vixen and then relaxes a little, "Could always stab a hare, like in the back or something not all hares are a problem most likely and if you get one alone, easier to take one down."
Vatra turns her muzzle down and smirks a little. Her pointed, black nose wrinkles. "Stabbing is much too messy for me. But I certainly appreciate the enthusiasm." Vatra laughs and comes a little closer. "Seem to be more around lately. Not all are... terrible. But it's good to see sensible beasts around, like you two gentlemen."
Magus nods "I do not plan to stay long, I mainly have unfinished business in the area that I feel will come to me sooner rather than later. I only need to get to someone, before the key does."
Garth has gotten use to the ferret, it doesn’t mean he freaks him out any less it just means he is use to him by now, he looks around and starts to look bored and then chuckles "We could always hide the body..one less hare around I say..huh boss?" He looks at Magus.
"Is that so?" Vatra wonders with feigned interest. "Where are you from, originally? Most beasts in this village either were whelped here. Or," she adds with a flick down of her ears. "Are from that mountain." She speaks, of course, of the hares. "I have heard talk of taking this town back from them," she mentions with a hitch of her shoulder and a look away. "You two don't happen to know anything about that?"
Magus shakes his head "I am from the northlands of snow and ice, I care not for who has a city and who does not, that is their business and not mine." He then walks over to talk to a wildcat, the ferret and wildcat go inside a little shack to better talk alone.
Garth says, "I live or rather lived in Mossflower.." He watches the ferret head off and shrugs before talking more, "But it’s never good to stay in one place too long, and who dos live here mostly woodlanders or vermin?"
"Hm," the vixen hums with a thin frown on her equally thin face. "Very well, good day." Her amber eyes flash a little as she watches the wildcat meet up with the ferret. "Mossflower? Ah, I am sure you were /very/ popular there." Vatra turns her eyes back to the stoat. "Surprisingly a mix of both, but those hares have shown up in droves lately and I simply can't figure out /why/." Vatra sounds a little frustrated.
Garth shrugs and he chuckles "Who in Mossflower likes vermin? I did almost kill a hare there, have killed woodlanders before just a matter of when and where and how"
Vatra picks at a spot on her woven plate shoulder coverings. "Well, we all do our part, don't we?" She smiles, almost kindly, at the stoat. "My friend, if you do know of any plans to cull the village of these hare pests, you /will/ be a dear and let me know? I run a booth over in the market, if you ever want to talk or report. I'll make it worth your while, of course."
Magus at about this time steps out from where he and the wildcat spoke and the two nod to each other as he comes back over towards the stoat, "We need to go soon, I have plans to fulfill"
Garth nods "If I come up with any ideas.." He looks at Magus and nods “Sure boss, but can we eat somewhere first?" Yea he is bored and when he is bored he thinks about food.
Vatra straightens a little, turning that same smile to Garth. She pauses, just for a moment, but instead grabs the edge of the cloak draped on her shoulders and turns. "Remember my offer. Do have a good afternoon, gentlemen." The vixen sweeps away and back down the street.
Magus watches the vixen, slightly curious of her and turns to the stoat,"No..there is fish to find on the beach if one fishes there, we need to seek the one with the troubled mind, she comes soon and must be found. She will be lost when the 3 become 1...alone she will be and then we strike."
Garth nods slowly, "Ummm...sure boss, but what if we can't find her, then what?"
Magus smiles coldly "Oh we will find her and make sure the key never does find her. The wildcat I spoke to is a slaver and is very interested in beasts for his ship" He pats his falcon on the head "Isn’t that right my pet..." The falcon nods as the ferret speaks to the stoat “Maybe we can help him gain others as well besides the maid we seek, after all...the more gold the better."
Garth smiles at the idea of more gold "Hey boss can I try and capture a hare or two maybe, we could get gold maybe from them and then this slaver beast after we give him the hares...right?"
Magus glares at Garth “You need to quiet down or I will sell YOU to a slaver"

Garth frowns,"Umm....sure boss. I can be quit but it’s just it’s boring to just walk around and do nothing"

Magus says, "Trust me, it’s worth the wait it is"
Garth sighs but nods "I do hope so, we need gold...well I need gold anyways"
Magus nods "Yes some gold would come in handy about now wouldn’t it, yes. It will be some time till we meet faces from the past and the means of which to have gold" He nods "Let us...hunt then and get some gold before this matter comes up"
Garth grins and nods as he looks around, he scans the town as the area becomes a little more busy, it is that time of day after all and woodlanders and vermin alike can walk the streets.
Magus stays in the shadows and sits down, the seer closes his eyes to meditate on his future plans and better clear his mind to see whats to come or not come.
A random hare is walking along, maybe keeping an eye out for trouble, or maybe exploring, but it’s clear they should of stayed inside somewhere most likely.

Garth catches sight of the hare and smirks as he goes to follow them, a paw on the sword and he waits till the hare is not paying as much attention, then he strikes and goes to slice at the hare's backside.

The hare, new to the LP it would seem , is caught by surprise as the blade cuts into his back and he falls forwards and pulls out a dirk."Ya..can bally well..give up, befor' I call me friends..." Looks like he will need his friends soon too. The ferret walks out after having heard and sense something and glances at the hare, “OH my..no need to draw attention now my long eared one...maybe sleep on the matter." He flicks a dagger out and at the hare's chest.
Garth watches as the ferret comes back and looks around making sure no one else is around and looks back to the hare they seem to have caught off guard.
The hare starts to yell out and only gets a gasp and a whimper out when the dagger hits its mark and he slumps against the building dead.
Magus frowns at Garth “Are you trying to draw attention to us? Yes I think you will not make a mistake again Garth, you get one more chance..only one...see what he has of value, get rid of him, and meet me at the dock..." He slips off quietly. His voice is serious and...well creepy as heck.
Garth frowns and gulps. He robs the hare of any gold and weapons, and then looks back and forth as he drags the hare into the alley and hides him behind some old chairs and desks and then quickly goes to catch up with Magus, well they did get some gold and even a couple weapons and the hare's death could of been done by anyone far as anyone knows.
Magus is at the docks, where he will further talk with the wildcat from the market area, and make his plans.
