The inside of the home is large, a door leads to the sleeping quarters and another to a kitchen area. This room has a large window looking outside with nice navy blue curtains on it. The floor is wooden and a large fireplace keeps the room warm in those cold months.Above the fireplace is a large painting of the Chieftain and his mate.In the room also is a table and a few chairs to sit in.A large bookcase is by a far wall with many books of all kinds on it.

Scioto is pacing in his living room back and forth. He is a little annoyed and at the same time worried. On the table is Marek's crossbow, other things he had have been placed in a sack for safe keeping, locked away in Scioto's office.

Bandit will never get used to simply walking into the Chieftains home. The guards at the front door see the fox and begrudgingly salute, letting him enters. Dressed in his chain mail and blue tabard the beast actually looks almost civilized, tempered only by the size of his pot gut. "Scioto, sir. Good evening." The fox takes a bow as he enters. Perhaps Bandit is learning manners after all.

When he stands back up he picks his teeth clean with a claw, "Sorry I'm late. Your runner caught me while I was at dinner." It's an ongoing process.

Scioto sighs, he then points to the crossbow, "Look familiar to you? It was found on the road just north of the Gull and a few other weapons. Also a dead female ermine and a dead rat I was told. Then that badger Zee comes into my office and gives me more details on the matter"

Still picking his teeth the fox leans over the table, peering at the weapons. It takes a moment for him to realize who they belong to. "Two dead beasts?" Rubbing his eyes the fat fox replies, "Marek's been busy, hasn't he? Zee...that name sounds familiar. An old badger, right? What did he have to say?"

Scioto nods "He said Marek was fighting an ermine, named Longfang and that our recorder Zaram was hurt, the mole is at the abbey no worry on that. Marek had knocked out the ermine and got Zee to the abbey and made sure Zaram was there and went back I guess to take the ermine here...only Marek never showed up here so its reason to believe, seeing as the weapons were on the ground, this Longfang may well have him"

Rubbing his chin Bandit leans against the table. "That stoat may not be acting against Ferrevale anymore but still manages to find ways to cause us trouble." Again he rubs at the bridge of his nose. "Ok, so what do we know about this...Longclaw or fang or whatever the kids are calling themselves these days. Does he have an ax to grind with Marek? Has he been seen around town?"

Scioto says, "I am unsure if he has been in town or not, He seems to know Zee so maybe you can ask him. According to Zee Marek killed Longfang's mate when she tried to behead him...so may be why Longfang hates Marek"

"Yeah, that would do it," The fox leans away from the table, "I'll put the guards on alert and have them scour the town and the surrounding woods. They should know the drill by now." Bandit chuckles darkly. As often people go missing in this town... "Is there anything else Scioto? Time is of the essence here but any detail, however small will be of great use."

Scioto shakes his head "Not that I know, I had a very bad headache last night...Firedeath ale is..is bad" He frowns as he sits down , "I have also sent word to Lee, as he should know of this as well, maybe help look for Longfang"

The fox nods at this slowly. "That sounds like a plan." Bandit adverts his gaze away from the cat and hesitates, "Scioto...we will find him but...well how do I put this." Rubbing the back of his neck the fox continues, "Marek is a prime example of the term, 'living by the sword' He's survived a lot in his life. Two invasions, he was shot, plenty of fights, even captured by a slaver once. The point is one of these days Marek is going to get himself into some trouble and he won't get himself out. Same goes for all of us really. Just...don't be too surprised when it happens."

The fox cringes slightly then sighs, "Is there anything else you need sir?"

Scioto nods "I know, I also know he has a lot that hate him, even some in the village dislike Marek. I know most here and Longfang is not one of them”

The fox nods once again, "Get some rest then Scioto. There is nothing else you can do for him tonight. I'll give the guards their orders." The fox considers adding one more, 'we will find him' speech Instead he turns for the door and heads out to fulfill his duties. After Blisa was kidnapped with no actual way of knowing if she would return however Bandit has come to know better than to make promises he cannot keep.

Scioto watches his head guard walks on out the door and sighs, well least he knows the news.

A Couple hours have passed in the chieftains home when he gets another visitor…

Scioto sits in a chair in his home, he has already talked to his own head guard, and chatted with the badger...good grief he was glad it fell asleep, now he just wants to inform the abbey's head guard of whats happen.

There is a sharp rapping at the door.

Scioto looks up and clears his throat" Please enter."

The door opens and an otter enters, glancing about. "Scioto." He nods in greeting. "I got yer message. Rather mysterious an' all. Wot's this all about?"

Scioto stands" Some news of trouble on the road, though part of this your probably care less about. But there is an ermine, Zee called him Longfang. It would seem he may or may not have my tavern owner." He points to a crossbow, one Cleary known to most " Found north of the Gull last night by the road. Also a mole named Zaram seems to be in your infirm"

Lee nods his head. "Aye, I know of the ermine. Zaram is recoverin'." The otter sighs. "There's been scattered reports of trouble from vermin throughout Mossflower the past sev'ral weeks. Heck, yer own town 'all were robbed not too long ago. I've also 'eard rumors that a dibbun was kidnapped from Camp Willow."

Scioto nods "I am not sure who robbed my town hall, and a guard was killed. I have had no other trouble and I have not heard of a dibbun napping. This ermine seems different than others though and the fact he managed to clearly win a fight against Marek"

Lee nods again. "I 'ave reason ta believe that there is vermin group, workin' together. Longfang may be the leader of the group, I don't know. When did this fight 'appen?"

Scioto says, "The fight happen yesterday or day before that. I do not think he works with the group that seems to of cause trouble at Camp Willow or here, he was an all-white ermine, blue arrow on his paw and his friends had the arrows also, but it would seem he only has himself now and maybe a ferret with him. The ermines mate had almost killed Zee and harmed Zaram, and Marek killed the ermines mate..could be why he seems to have Marek captive now, but where no idea"

Lee sighs. "Oh please, ye aren't sayin' I 'ave ta rescue *Marek*!!"

Scioto frowns, "That..would be up to you. I know he is hated by a lot, and maybe by you. I use to hate him but over the past couple seasons have seen a different side of him, I have seen him cry, seen him run the tavern very well and He is a very good cook" He then frowns "Not with fish scones though..gross. But he does seem to have one friend at your abbey."

Lee frowns. "A friend at Redwall? Who?"

Scioto shakes his head "I normally wouldn’t say much as it’s not my concern who befriends Marek and who doesn't, but that sparrow was gonna tell her he was missing."

Lee's eyes narrow. "A her? Hmm. Either way, I'll be after the ermine first thing tomorrow. I think 'e needs to be dealt with sooner rather than later."

Scioto sighs, "Marek is friends with Lilymoore, how do I know cause the sparrow brings letters to him and he replies to them. May be advised to not let the maid out of your sight, or her parents she may try and find her missing friend and that would not be wise."

Lee says, "I'll make sure, if I 'ave ta lock her up."

Scioto nods, "I may need to keep someone else from hunting Longfang down..for his own good of course" The chieftain sighs "My guards will see you to the gates, I need rest , thanks for coming and keep me updated as I will keep you updated"
