On their Way

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Characters: Aikuen, Fira, Windhunter

Location: River Moss

The river's got a little choppy with rapids and big rocks in the way so Fira's decided it's a better idea to get back onto the bank and carry on there. She's only gone far enough to dry out a bit though before she slows to a halt, and gives the sky a look "Mm. Not much light yet we may as well stop while we've still got any"

Aikuen, though he did thoroughly enjoy swimming in the river, the rapids were a bit much. Plus with the pack, he didn't want the risk of losing it in the river. He is glad that she decided to pad the bank for a bit. When she stops, he stops and goes to stand a bit in front of her, to the side, so she can read him in the dying light, "Yep... Lets set up camp for the night... Have some dinner... in the moonlight..." he chuckles and goes off to find a dry patch of dirt.

Fira smiles faintly at him "Sounds nice, think you can get a fire going or rather not risk it?" she's never been fond of the dark, can border on fear if it's sudden or in a strange place but mostly it's the fact she's got nothing to go on when she can't see anything.

Aikuen nods at her, "Ill get a fire going... This a small part of the woods, and we are by the river... but i think the risk is less, then some hot food!" he laughs, and quietly drops his pack, "Ill be back soon... Don't get into any trouble... Ill be back!" he gives her a small kiss, before heading off into the woods to find some logs.

Fira nods once back, smirks a little at the kiss too "Had better be back. Be careful!" just watching him go before she gets to work unpacking things for cooking.

Aikuen comes back soon after he left, bearing a bunch of large branches. He drops them a bit from the proposed camp site, and breaks them into manageable chunks. He grins at his wife, and just stares at her for a few minutes before going back to his work. He carries a good amount of broken sticks near where the pack is and drops them, "A fire, for Fira!" it was lame, but he couldn't help it. He digs a small pit, and then places the sticks in. He draws his sword, and his trusty flint, and strikes the two together. He blows lightly on the small wick of flame, and it catches, "Ah..." he leans back and watches her unpack, smiling drunkenly at her.

Fira meanwhile gets a blanket out to settle across the ground, make a comfy spot to sit by the fire. The joke gets a little snort of amusement "Fire, Fira, witty. Handy in my mute days though" letting him get the fire set up before she sets out things to cook up a bit of stew and heat a few bits of hardtack.

Windhunter sees Aikuen from a distance and waves as he walks closer.

Aikuen goes to sit next to her, watching her cook up some stew... and some of his favorite, HARDTACK! He laughs, and goes to playfully tap her on the leg, "Hey... I see your cooking some of that delicious bread that one otter made... I see you have good taste" he grins, as he takes one of the cooking ones, and nibbles on it. He then of course goes to nibble on Fira, "Still not as good as you... What the?..." he draws his sword and stands up, as he cant see the squirrel properly in the darkening sky, "Who goes there?" he says sternly.

Fira smirks at Aikuen, stirring the stew "I'll take one, the rest are all yours" laughs quietly at the nibble too but doesn't last long as Aik's suddenly up with sword out. She blinks and turns "What is it?...Looks squirrelish?"

Windhunter laughs and shouts "put it away Aik, before I end up shooting you again."

Aikuen looks at Fira, just enough so she can read him, keeping his eyes glued to the figure approaching them, "It does look like a squirrel... Hope its not one of them... tribal squirrels..." then he blinks a few times as his nickname is called from the figure, "What a minute... i know that voice..." he sheaths his sword, "Windy? Is that you?" he walks forward, and when he gets closer he punches the squirrel in the shoulder, "Windy! It is you! Ho Ho Matey! I haven't seen you in seasons!" he gives Windhunter a hug, and nudges him to the fire, "Where yah been mate! Come! Sit! ... I have someone very special to me... that i want you to meet!" he grins.

Fira tilts her head, looking faintly puzzled but at least relaxed when it seems Aikuen knows the squirrel. She offers a vague wave of the paw to Windhunter as he's brought closer "Hey"

Windhunter bows politely to Fira. "A pleasure to meet you mamb. The names Windhunter, but lots of beasts just call me Windy." He smiles and looks at both of the otters. "I got back to the Abbey bout a week ago and heard the big news. Couldn't believe it. It's good to see ya again Aik."

Aikuen winks at her, before looking back to Windhunter, "Oh! Aye! the big news... I want you to meet Fira Tazan... my lovely wife... Sorry i didn't invite you... but you were no where to be found, and i haven't seen yah in seasons!" he laughs and goes to sit down next to his wife, "Fi, this is Windy... when i first landed in Mossflower... He was the first friendly beast i met... and he shot me with an arrow!" he chuckles, and wraps an arm around her.

Fira raises a brow at Aikuen, looking slightly amused "You think being shot with an arrow is friendly? Glad you didn't have a bow when we met" she's smirking and looks back to Windhunter again "It's nice to meet you"

Windhunter chuckles. "Aye, that's quite the story. Aik will have to tell you about it sometime. I'll just let you guys tell me how you met and then I'll let you get back to your outing together."

Aikuen rolls his eyes at Fira, going to tell what happened "Well he didn't shoot me on purpose... apparently he thought i looked like a stoat at the time..." he sighs, "Its a good story... and i tell you later... a yarn for around the fire, with Fira!" he kisses her softly, "Thanks Windy..." he sighs and places a paw on her leg, "We meet... when my son wanted to go on a trip to the east coast... He invited her along... and well" he grins, "And the rest is..." he looks into her eyes, "Well... history..." he kisses her again, "I love you so much... You are my all!" becoming unaware of the squirrel apparently.

Windhunter looks about uncomfortably. "Yes, well, enjoy your time together, I will be leaving now, will see both of you later."Windhunter walks up to a huge pine tree, and leaves.

Fira smirks faintly "Probably best never met Kentar then" she's very aware of the squirrel though, she still happily enough accepts the kisses though and her eyes are on Aikuen as he's speaking so she's surprised when the squirrel wanders off "Guess we scared him off"

Aikuen blinks a few times, as he was still looking at her eyes, "Hmmmm? What?" he looks off to where the squirrel was sitting and he blinks some more, "Umm... Guess we did..." he shrugs, and goes to rub her leg, "That's okay... born to adventure he was... he will be back... sometime..." he grins, and chuckles, "He probably didn't like all the mushy stuff..." he nuzzle her, "That i love so much..." he chuckles.

Fira smirks faintly and pats his paw "One of these days you're going to be staring at me and miss something really important" she laughs quietly at the nuzzle "I love you too, though you're going to make me burn the stew in a minute"

Aikuen leans in closer and places his forehead on hers, "And it will be totally worth it... For there is nothing more... than i wish to see..." he smirks, and then becomes surprised, "ACK! The Stew!" he laughs and plants another quick kiss on her, before moving back to let her do her thing. He hums and starts to sing, "I love you Fi!" some stupid song he made up.

Aikuen chuckles at her, and then goes to set up the tent. He continues to hum that stupid song, until the tent is big enough for two otters. He unravels the bedroll inside it and makes sure it was set correctly for them. He goes back to sit on the cloth, as Fira passes him a bit of the stew. He laughs and places the bowl on the ground going to have Fira instead. After a bit she pushes him away, and they both go to eat their stew. Their is much more talking, laughing, giggling and pushing away. After a good amount of time, Fira begins to yawn quietly. Aik chuckles and wraps his arms around her, "I think its time for some otters... to start collecting Z's..." he chuckles and kisses her, then goes to lead her to the tent, "Good Night Fi! I love you..." Fira places her paws on his chest, "I love you too..." she smiles and kisses him softly. Fira then grins and enters the tent, and Aik is soon to follow.
