Not The Best Morning

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

        • This log is short but still a good log and gives quick updates on a couple things involving Zurrgg and sadly news of a death of an abbey beast *****

This first part is somewhere near the edge of the woods sort of southwestern from the abbey ,a good distance away like 4-5 days away, maybe a little more. ==

Ripfang pokes the badger cub with his clawed toe “What upssss ssssays me”

Zurrgg growls “Wake the brat up Ripfang that’s an order!” Yes the wildcat is in a foul mood and still has a bandage around his head. His tail wags as he rubs the sore spot “I HATE stripedogs!”

Xander slowly wakes up and whimpers as he scoots away from lizard, he has had little sleep.

Ripfang snorts “Ya best sssssssssssstand before master thinkssssssssss ya not fitssssss to sssssstay”

Zurrgg walks over and glares at the badger, “We are about ready to get more travel time in, you best get untried and maybe your be rewarded with food and water.” Is he over working the cub? Most likely but he himself is tried as well.

Xander frowns and then has a growl form “You killed the Abbey Bee Keeper, they is going to come after you now and make you deads as dead”

Zurrgg chuckles coldly, ”Are they now?” He smirks” They are too concern with this killer horde now me right now brat, now whats your name or do I call you stripdog?”

Ripfang just watches quietly, he won’t interrupt his leader.

Xander glares” They will come look for me and then you is gonna be in trouble!”

Zurrgg was always good at lying and he smiles coldly “The badgers? They DIED! The other monitor I had made sure of it.” Oh he makes it sound so ,so very real.

Xander whimpers and looks ready to cry but manages to hold back tears.

Zurrgg growls “No matter” His ears flat on his head “ Either way you’re going to be my new weapon, to be trained to fight. To gain strength…I would have preferred to keep the Winters Clan blade cause how…fun would that of been, but no matter I have other , much better blades and other such things.” He looks to Ripfang and the other 4 beasts here..A couple weasels and ferrets “Let’s go, we need more distance between us and his former home.” As of right now they were a good 4-5 days into the trip due to staying awake longer and speed walking, even making the monitor carry the badger. The rain storm helped cover their tracks. As did a couple false trains he paid some rats to make going a totally different way.

Ripfang nods and looks at the badger “Comesss ssssstripedog we walk”

Xander stands slowly and then glares, anger in his voice for one so small “My name is Xander and I..I am almost 4 seasons old. You will be sorry cause ya so called weapon gonna kill you in your sleep one day. I saw you kill my friend Krystal and I not” He clears his throat “ I don’t know if my mother or Uncle is alive or dead but if they are dead as you claim then I am gonna train so I can make you dead too!!!!!” He then wipes his tears and starts walking the direction he is told.

Zurrgg listens and smirks “Spunk and such anger, I will refocus that Xander, oh trust me I will” He then heads off, they have some ground to cover and he may just know a bit of a shortcut.

Meanwhile elsewhere news is brought, sad news=======

RW Abbey: Entry

You stand on a grassy sward between two cottages. To the south you see a small, calm pond. To the north lies an open space where the Abbey has its feasts in the warmer seasons. To the east is the Great Hall, a massive structure that rises far above the abbey walls and is completed with large towers that pierce upwards into the sky. The main building is completed with a large, iron banded door that would allow one into the Great Hall.

The blanket of snow is replaced with the vibrant greens of spring. Newly sprung flowers and young shoots dot the path. They hold a promise of color and enhancement. The earth is relatively dry here, and the soil rich for growing, but muddy patches of dirt still can be found. Many Abbeybeasts can be seen tending to the gardens, though some are content with just being out and about, enjoying the warmth of the virgin sun and the pleasant weather. Dirt pawprints are tracked upon the clearing's surface, serving as witness to the fact that the majority of Abbeybeasts are caught up in the "spring fever." Most will do just about anything, or make any excuse to be outside, eager to watch as spring colors emerge in scraggly clumps.

OOC NOTE:She had mentioned how a guard or volunteer could find her so I decided to say that happen, it just took a couple days. I spoofed the novice and random fighter hare and no he is not an LP hare, just a hare from Mossflower helping the abbey

The abbey had sent out volunteers to look for surviving otters, but what they found in back of an old barn was not an otter, but sadly the abbey Bee Keeper and she had been dead more than a day. They had the sad task of bringing back the news.

The day was sunny, not that will help lighten the mood of the hare fighter. No he is not from the LP, he is a hare from Mossflower who has come to the aid of the Abbey and went along with an abbey novice to look for otter survivors, only to find something they rather not. They come slowly into the entry now carrying a very very still beast.

Cynthia is in the entry too and looks over to them about then "Hey who is it, an otter?" She goes over to help.

The hare frowns as he has the squirrel Krystal in his arms, and she is sadly dead. The novice frowns and walks away quietly as this is just too sad to stay around.

Cynthia eyes widen as she screams and rushes forward "No...NOOOO! What happen?!" Tears are already forming in her eyes.

Oz was checking on a couple things before he took the dibbuns to daily lessons after breakfast, he frowns and excuses himself to Brother Roo and walks quickly over to where he heard the shout "What is going on..." The hare whispers to the blind badger and the badger father frowns deeply" Tell the abbot and....someone can find the friar little later." He walks over to Cynthia as the squirrel maid is taken inside, the infirm , in the far corner of it, seems good for now.

Cynthia watches her be taken inside and runs over to Oz before he gets fully to her and starts sobbing into his robes uncontrolled. She shivers a little even and coughs from crying too hard.

Oz frowns as he hugs the mouse maid close and if able will lift her into his arms, he tilts his head at a novice as some have come to see whats happening, "Please tell Sister May to start the lessons without me, reading and writing will be first today I have to tend to Cynthia right now." The nods and rushes off. Oz meanwhile heads to the quiet of the orchards, no one else is there yet.

Cynthia curls into his arms like a dibbun and still shivers and coughs every so often, most likely his robes are soaked in one area. She also most likely won’t be in a great mood the rest of the day. Tears and sobbing starts again and only ends an hour or little less later once she has cried herself to sleep in the badger father’s arms.

Oz stays with the young mouse maid, just being there holding her and will let her rest if needed. He frowns at this sad news, and he will stay with Cynthia till she wakes up and see about getting her something to eat and drink.
