Nobody had told him about Zork....

RW Abbey: Gatehouse

A small but well set up room set into the walls of the abbey near the gates. It has a single small window and a sturdy door with iron hinges. One your left the far wall has been almost completely taken up by shelving that holds well cared for old scrolls and manuscripts; the shelves leaving just enough space for a framed painting of Redwall. The wall that the door is set in but on the left hand side is sat a large locker where weapons are stored and then, beside it, is a very small desk that is covered in wood shavings. On the rear wall, below a ladder leading to the loft, is another locker, but it is smaller than the first and more of a cabinet. The only other wall houses a small fireplace and by it sits a pot with a ladle in it, and in front of the hearth is a handmade wooden rocking chair. The only other furnishings in the room are a small table and two chairs.

Small Box

Flicktail the fox. LilyMoore the mouse.

Flicktail Knocks gently on the door sill wanting to be polite

LilyMoore has been dusting down here, entirely of her own accord. She turns to the door and opens it, smiling. "Oh, hi, Flicky. May I help you?" She has a duster in 1 paw, and is covered in dust and some mysterious brown stuff.

Flicktail smiles at her "you just did, you brightened m day with yer warm smile. I just came to visit with you actually, if you have time"

"Aw, thanks." Lily tilts her head to 1 side, her smile getting even brighter. "Sure, I've got time, if you're willing to visit while I dust." She steps aside so he can enter the gatehouse.

Flicktail moves in with her "I would even help you dust if you will let me. I am so glad to see you Happy Moor of the Lily." he looks around as his tail descreetly "Dusts" the lower areas, such a fluffy appendage that it is

LilyMoore giggles and grabs another duster from off of a shelf. "Here--and there's some rags over there," she points to a basket by the ladder leading upstairs. "You might want to tie some around your tail if you don't want lots of dust in it." She starts very, very carefully dusting the old scrolls and books on the shelves. "So what brings you over here, today, Mister Flicktail?" she says happily.

Flicktail asks, "oh I just dust my tail outside" he smiles as he takes the rags and helps her dust "So how are you doing? have you forgotten my promise to help you train with weapons? I have not seen you come around for a while to practice"

LilyMoore continues to smile as she shakes her head. "Oh, no, I haven't forgotten. Momma's just teaching me the way of the Warrior first, and building up my strength and flexibility. She's said that I have to be able to recite the Warrior's Code of Honour perfectly, without help, before I can start training with weapons." She sighs, then admits, "It's allot harder to memorize something than I thought it would be."

Flicktail nods, wiping down some of the taller areas "aye, I do not know the Warrior Code o' honor myself...but your mother is a VERY Formidable mouse....I am glad she is m' friend"

LilyMoore grins and wipes some sweat off of her forehead with her arm, unknowingly making a dirty grey smear on her forehead. "She's super brave. I wanna be just like her when I grow up. She's strong, but kind, loving, yet deserving respect. I'm so glad that she's my Mom." She goes back to dusting. "Maybe we could learn it together? Or I could help you study it? The Code Momma's teachin' me is a bit different from the Code other beasts know....she says it's 'cause it's the Code taught in Tuscani, her old home."

Flicktail says, "yes I would like to learn it with you, it sounds like something a beast should really know. And I can tell ya a secret to...what you just said to me, about being glad She is yer mom....you should tell her that"

LilyMoore smiles up at his face. "Oh, but I do. I found her singing in the cemetery today, and she told me that she had to tell a beast who had returned after a few seasons that Abbot Lorimis and Zork had...." her smile fades, but it comes back as she continues, "and we talked and I told her that I'm glad she's my Mom, and she told me that she could never want a different daughter, and she's so happy that I came into her life."

Flicktail cocks his head "What about Zork, Lillymoore? and I can tell you we are ALL glad you came into our lives"

LilyMoore stares up at him in shock. "That he died! He died a few weeks ago! Didn't you know?" She has stopped dusting and is staring at the fox, her eyes wide and mouth open with disbelief.

Flicktail shakes his head "No I had not Heard" he says calmly "but thank you for telling me Lilymoore" he smiles kindly and offers her ears a gentle paw

LilyMoore just stares blankly at the books in front of her nose, not even noticing (and, hence, not stopping) him gently pawing her ears. "I...I thought....I thought everybeast....knew...." Nobody had told him about Zork. She just simply can't wrap her mind around that little fact.

Flicktail says, "Well I suppose it happens, i have seen martin, Lilymoore, he waits for us near teh Dark Forest, as our friend, I know there are other Journeys to be on...we will se our friend again...Martin says so...."

LilyMoore nods slowly, then goes to hug the fox, aiming to bury her (grimy) face in his shirt (or tunic or robe or whatever he's wearing) front.

Flicktail gently takes her in his arms, into his soft fur of hic chest and comforts her, rocking a bit "Do not worry Lilymoore, you will be a great mouse, and I will be your friend"

LilyMoore sniffles and nods, then draws back and wipes her eyes. "I....I'm gonna go find....Mom, no, okay? Thank you, Flicky, an' I'm sorry that nobeast told you before this..." She sniffles and runs out the door.

Flicktail smiles after her, his chest filling with pride
