Meanwhile, in Aclidia

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Part of the Aclidia blues arch. Sibyl has come to enjoy her new found life pretending to be a noble, that is until a certain white fox appears on their door step

Despite the pressing doom awaiting her Sibyl has found her own little personal slice of heaven. There is little for the young thief to do but sit, laze about, and eat. A life style she has worked hard to get to as a thief. After a few weeks of this arrangement The red scaled lizard is starting to bulge at the seams. Her scales are thick and fattened, her belly is distended and bloated, even her tail has put on a thin layer of flab. Currently she lounges out back on a soft patio bed, soaking up the sun. The yard behind the vista has a small pool with well trimmed grass and gardens. A servant leaves the portly lizard a tray of cooked fish on sticks next to her resting place before leaving her alone with her meal. Life. Is. GOOD.

The peace is broken by a loud knock at the door to the manor, followed by several seconds of silence before a few more knocks sound out. By the sound of the knocking, the beast at the door must be quite impatient....or in a hurry for something.

Sibyl grunts as she is interrupted from her meal by the sound. She would answer it her self but the door is so far away and getting up is so much work. Besides she is a 'noble' now, there are servants for that. She snaps her claws and the pine marten servant appears again. "It sounds like Flavius has stumbled back from that party early. Do go see him in." The well dressed marten nods his head and walks off to the back gate. He unlatches the gate without checking to see who it is first and opens it up wide. He is....rather shocked to not see his master here at the gate.

Standing there at the door is a pure white fox dressed in his usual leather armor and armed with twin daggers along with his throwing knives all on his belt. The fox looks up at the door opening, having been looking at the ground. Softly, he asks, "Is Sibyl here?" So that Sibyl would not hear him if indeed she was there.

The marten raises an eyebrow at the fox. He ins't sure quite how to handle an armed beast showing up in the back alley. Instict tells him slam the door and run but training dictates other wise. "Poss-ibly...may I ask who is calling on her?"

Albus replies smoothy with, "A friend of hers trying to make sure she is okay." He crosses his arms, quite set on his course of action. "I romise I'm not here to hurt her or any others living here."

Yeah...like the marten is going to buy that. "I'm sorry sir, I can't help you..." Behind him a loud and oddly whiny voice calls out, "Hey, uh, whatsyourname, marten dude. How long can it take to drag lord flabby pants back inside? Hurry it up will ya? I' need some desert to go with this fish!" The marten shivers, "You know what...go right ahead. She is on the back padio." The servent steps asside, open the door wide and gesturing the fox to come in.

Albus gives the marten a wide toothy grin that intentionally looks nowhere close to friendly, and he steps in, looking around the decked out manor. After a few moments, he begins to make his way towards the back padio, where he eventually spots Sibyl as he approaches, though hopefully he doesn't scare her too bad.

The lizard is too busy stripping the meat from her fish, tossing the empty sticks onto the ground around her. She feasts for a long moment then finely sighs in contentment. Stretching out across the comfy chair/ bed she practically purs in delight. She opens her eyes once and waves to Albus. "Oh, hi albus." A pause ensues followed by her eyes shooting open with a paniced expression, "A-albus!" She seems to try pushing her way through the chair to escape the fox. Obviously, it doesn't work too well.

Albus sighs, rubbing the bridge of his muzzle with one paw while tapping his footpaw on the ground in irritation. He knew this would happen, but that didn't quite make it less annoying for him when Sibyl wouldn't just listen, though he can't quite blame her given the circumstances. He had been irritable with all the stress on him lately anyway. "Sibyl, just calm down. I'm not here to kill you."

Sibyl sinks deeper into the soft cushions behind her. Her fattened belly raises and falls rapidly with her heavy paniced breathing. She gulps. Sure, the assassin 'says' he isn't here to kill her, but how far do an assassin's words go? She looks around for the marten who has conveniently dissapeared. Blasted rat. Sibyl finely sighs and calms down, but is far from being calmed down completely. "W-what brings you over to my neck of the woods then...and how did you find me?"

Albus raises an eyebrow at the lizard. "Don't give yourself too much credit Sibyl. You're not that difficult to find, and it only took me a little bit to figure out where you would've hidden." Through all of this talk, the fox has not taken one step towards Sibyl or made any aggressive movements.

Sibyl chuckles weakly. "It was...the only place I had left to go actually." A worried look crosses her snout, "Which means that any other assassins out after me can find me as well...such a lovely thought."

Albus shrugs. "That's your fault, and I'm sorry for that, but I'm here to help you. So far, I think I've thrown Maffeo of your trail, but not for long."

Sibyl sits up on her chair and moves her legs and tail over to one side facing the fox, "Hey! It's not my fault I have assassins after me. At least...I don't think it is." She sighs, she really doesn't know what she did to deserve such a fate. She has always been a loyal thief. She ran a few of the larger jobs even and managed to pull them off. Why would Maffeo do this to her? The lizard turns again to the fox, "What did you do?"

Albus gives a mischievous toothy smile, and he crosses his arms as he replies. "Oh nothing big. I only threatened one of the thieves guild members when I was taking him to show him your 'body'."

The lizard matches his toothy smile with one of her own. "You faked my death for me? How sweet. I hope it wasn't too much a painfull end." She doesn't want to give the next assassins any ideas on how to finish her off if, or when they catch up with her."

Albus chuckles, shaking his head. "I told them I simply ran you through several times with my daggers. Didn't want to make it too messy, otherwise they would look for a mess."

Sibyl subconsciously rubs at her stomach, trying hard NOT to imagine what that would be like. "Heh, and here I though I would meet my end leaving a pickled corpse in a tavern someday." she chuckles nervously.

Albus laughs, nodding. "Well I'm glad you're alright. I'll be stopping in periodically, but we'll need to get you out of here soon. For now, I have things I need to do." With that, the fox turns and walks straight to the door, opening it and closing it behind him as he exits.

Sibyl sighs in relief when the fox leaves. Although his news unsettles her. If he is right, her comfortable abode is about to dissapear. She snaps for the marten to order her self another batch of lunch. Might as well live it up while the fantasy still exists.
