Lorimis log: Cera Wants To Be A Novice

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

( I logged on as Lorimis a very short while as Cera wanted to ask the abbot if she could be a novice, so here is that log)

Oz is in the open ground making sure dibbuns stay out of trouble, he has his walking staff with him as the dibbuns play around nearby and some stay sat near the badger.

Cera is finally out of the infirm; she sits in a dusted off chair with wheels, she smiles a little but still some sadness in her eyes as she sighs and folds her arms over her chest and keeps her light blue blanket over her.

Lorimis steps into the open ground and nods to some novices and smiles as he walks over to Cera, "Hello Cera, how are you today?"

Cera looks up and waves "Hi Father Lorimis and...I am fine I guess, just wish I could walk, I am finally out of the infirm and still...not too happy really"

Lorimis speaks "I see child, well you are alive, you can still learn a still if you wish"

Cera sighs, she nods "I know Father Abbot and I am glad just" She places her paws on the wheels of the chair, "Getting use to this thing, but it is good to know can..sort of get around the abbey and I am unsure what I want to do, maybe learn more healing or maybe sew, I can't help with many chores, there is.." She seems unsure "One thing I had thought of and started to ask before left, but I am unsure I can even now" She frowns.

Lorimis listens, "Can or cannot what child?" He asks, "One never knows an answer unless they first ask"

Cera is quiet as she tries to get comfortable as she can in her chair, "I..want, I mean can I?" She stops then takes a deep breath, "Be a novice, I..I wanna be a novice, join the order...I even know the charter and..and some of the rules and I would pay close attention and do my best, I would sir..please sir"

Lorimis chuckles and smiles "Well perhaps child, knowing the charter is part of being a novice and if you do well you can one day be a sister in the order also."

Timothy is out on a morning stroll, the mouse's shield on his back as always. The Tall mouse pads his way into the clearing and his gaze finds the wheel chaired Cera and the Abbey's Abbot, though he is unlikely to know that. Timothy waits at the edge of the clearing however, unwilling to interrupt.

Cera smiles " The abbey charter is as follows sir, To be Brothers and Sisters of peace and goodwill, living together in harmony under the protection of Redwall Abbey, forsaking all unnecessary forms of violence, not only to Mossflower, its trees, grasses, flowers, and insects, but to all living creatures. "

Lorimis nods as he listens

Cera says, "To help and comfort the dispossessed, harbor orphans and waifs, offer shelter to all creatures alike, give clothing, warmth and food to any beast or creature that is deemed in need of such. To educate and learn, particularly in the healing arts, comfort the sick, nurse the injured and help the wounded. To take our food from the earth and replenish the land by caring for it, husbanding crops and living in harmony with the seasons always.""

Rorgan comes walking from the Great Hall, still strapping on the last bits of his armor, and he notices Cera and Lorimis. Smiling to himself, he walks over, but stops as he hears the conversation. He decides it would be best to not interrupt and he stands a few feet away, waiting for either an invitation to the conversation, or for the conversation to end.

Lorimis smiles as he lets her finish, he nods to the entering beasts.

Cera says, "To honor and protect our friends and brethren, only raising paw to do battle when our life at Redwall is threatened by treachery and the shadow of war; at these times every Redwall creature should show courage, fortitude and obedience to the Father Abbot. Albeit the taking of another life must always be justified and never carried out in a wanton manner."

Rorgan smiles as he hears Cera, proud of her for going down the path of peace

Timothy nods towards Lorimis before he steps towards the pair, giving a sad look towards Cera and her predicament. "Good morning, is it not?"

Lorimis smiles "Well you certainly do have it down don’t you Cera, I will think on this matter and let you know at the feast" He nods to the others, "Excuse me good beasts I must tend to last minute feast details" He heads off towards the entry.

Cera watches the abbot head off as she leans back in her chair and looks to be thinking.

Lorimis has now gone to speak to Benar and so heads out of site.
