Longfang's Day Seems Great...But Doesn't Stay That Way

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

On the North Path maybe 1/2 a day from Ferravale ICLY=

Longfang is getting tired of dragging someone from the camp to where ever it is they are getting too and decides it’s not worth it and drops the stoat onto the path, and draws out his twin blades, "You know your head would be ever so much better to carry, again I wasn't told dead or alive after all."

Marek looks at Longfang and manages a glare," Told by who you annoying ermine. " He is not in the best shape to get up and fight to any degree right now. Cuts, bruises, a broken arm, barely having much water or food the past couple weeks, a fight right now and he would surely lose quickly.
Zee has decided to follow the beasts, and this after promising to stay put. His excuse is he couldn't sleep and so he left and with the help of a friend managed to track the slow moving ermine to here.
Longfang smiles coldly as he answers, "Why an old old friend, see Zurrgg, this wildcat offered my master a reward for bring you too him. Now I could care less, see I much rather be hunting others and not dragging you along for the trip. I need to leave Mossflower and your slow me down, and you know what I decided to do you a flavor and finish you off. You did kill my mate after all, then again killing you now could be less painful, I rather you have lots of pain."
Marek eyes widen some "Zurrgg? But he is..in prisoned way up north, he couldn’t gotten out" Corse deep in his mind that was seasons ago, before he himself went south for fame and takeover, both which have ceased to be important to him now.
Zee steps out and has his blade out of his staff," I would say I could care less if Marek dies or not, but he has changed his ways and is..well a good hearted beast deep down."
Zee angles his blade, "Where is the frosted arrow? You have my son and my friends, I demand answers" He narrows his eyes, he may be old but he can be dangerous as well. "Or pay a price."
Longfang smirks, "Really?" He looks at Marek "Is the old fool joking?" He has his twin blades out," You’re a fool old man, maybe a fight some seasons ago would of been good but no one seemed interested in tracking me and Master Bora down, their mistake wasn’t it?" He smiles coldly "Oh where oh where is the Frosted Arrow, oh where or where can it be?" He says in a sing a long sort of tone.
Marek peers over at the badger and frowns, if this is the rescue party he may as well die now.
Zee snarls at Longfang "Ya need to answer a question and respect your elders boy!" He looks around carefully and decides it’s a trick as he walks closer to the ermine "Release Marek and then you’re taking me to my son and friends."
Longfang looks down at Marek and back to Zee, "You know, you’re right Mr. Winters, Master Bora is so much more interested in YOU." He smirks" And I should ever so respect my elders and give in to your demands" He bows his head as if surrendering and then speaks." Long live the Frosted Arrow of the North!" Suddenly there is about 10 beasts surrounding the badger, a couple stoats, about 4 ferrets, a couple other ermine and a couple tall rats. He smiles coldly, "He wishes to be taken to our camp, do make sure he is."
Marek tries to get up and grunts as he falls back onto his face and can only watch as beasts show up.
Zee gasps as he is surrounded and keeps his raspier out to fight off the beasts, he manages to kill two of them before he is knocked down, another he kicks in the face and breaks their nose. His weapon slides from his paw and is out of reach now.
Longfang stands and kicks the weapon out of reach, "Take him away, chain him up but keep him alive. Master Bora will enjoy seeing him again I am sure."
The beasts drag the badger off, but not before it gets a lucky shot in and bites one of the rats neck and the rat , well it dies...chains are placed on him and he is knocked out and taken further up the northern path and within a couple days will be out of Mossflower land and into Northern woods land.

Marek groans "You’re...insane to deal with a badger, I hope it kills more of your beasts...idoit."

Longfang kicks Marek in the side, rather hard and keeps his cold smile "I lost 3 beasts, I still have 7..and they are clearly stronger. See the weak are the weak and need cleaned out of a group, that’s the only thing the others proved of themselves, they were a weak link and now are not my problem. I don’t keep weak beasts around, nor do I keep weak captives around."

Marek tenses up as he is kicked in the side and coughs roughly.

Longfang says, "I have no idea who Zurrgg is or why he wanted Master Bora to give you to him, then it matters not as I was willing till you killed my mate, and I like to right a wrong. Death for a death I say""
Marek answers, keep him talking he thinks, "Zurrgg was a beast, that when I was first dreaming of takeover wanted me as his..2nd in command, I had other plans and abandoned him to be caught and locked up, while I took the lands for myself, but recent events have changed my thoughts, I no longer care..care of land" He coughs roughly again.
Longfang shakes his head, "So turn on your kind, that’s a most unthinkable crime, one that shouldn't go unpunished. So what should I do with you?"

Marek coughs up a little blood before answering the question, "Walk away..away from me and find some beast to send you to the dark forest."

Longfang places one of his blades on the stoats neck, "Maybe you should visit it first"
Marek looks at the blade and then to Longfang, "And doing this...on...only leads to more trouble for you."
Longfang smirks, "Does it? I have heard a LOT of you Marek, oh yes I do my history of an area, are you surprised? It’s a good thing to do and I see it this way I be doing this place a great favor killing you now"
Marek listens as the ermine speak, and frankly he is too tried to argue back now.

Longfang once more places the blade at his throat, "I grow tried and need to catch up to my men. Any last words?"

Far above the beasts, a hugs golden eagle is soaring. Her feathers glisten in the sunlight, her amber eyes taking in the scene below. It's Riana, the hardly seen ruler of Northern Mossflower. She's been watching for a while. She hasn't tasted ermine since she left the Northlands. She starts preparing for a dive, hungry for the meat she hasn't had since she was a fledgling.

Marek looks at the blade and blinks as he thinks he sees something, but he isn't sure.."Might..want look up.." Yeah he is going to most likely pass out soon but forces himself to stay awake.

Longfang smirks "That’s the oldest trick in the book, right next to oh look behind you, I am not a fool to fall for that." He then oddly takes the blade away and smirks as he backs up, "Maybe I should just let the hot sun finish you off. Not like you have had much water the past few days."

Splendid! Riana suddenly dives, keeping a wary eye on the ermine. She shifts slightly in her controlled fall when she sees him stand. When she is still a few yards above him, she suddenly turns and spreads her wings, taloned feet stretching out towards the ermine. Screeching, she goes to sink her claws into his torso and upper back, then slam him into the ground beside the stoat.

Longfang seems to think, "Never mind, I have changed my mind. Your head will be delivered to Master Bora. Goodbye Marek..." He lifts his twin blades and then he screams in shock and pain and the blades drop to his sides and he goes face first into the dirt and groans weakly as he tries to get up.

Marek manages to move back further from Longfang and looks on in shock, maybe a few seasons ago he would have enjoyed this, but those days are over.

Riana screeches again and goes to stand with one foot on the ermine. She tries to turn him over, then goes to deliver the death blow. She is hungry...she hasn't had a decent meal in 3 days! For now she is ignoring the stoat.

Longfang eyes widen, first he deals with a snake and now an eagle of all birds. Whatever plans he had are quickly forgotten as he goes to grab one of his blades, but before he even touches the blade his word goes dark and he's dead rather quickly, seems he went to the dark forest a little sooner than he rather of went and now is lunch.

Marek uses the last bit of his strength to weakly stand, he is not sticking around he is getting out of here before the eagle wants desert.

Riana slowly lifts her head and stares at the stoat. She hisses at him, though whether it's in anger or defiance is hard to tell. She then spreads her massive wings and lifts into the air, carrying her meal away over the trees with her. She will soon be in her eyrie high up in a tree, enjoying a hearty meal.
