Lizard character

So I've been thinking about creating a lizard character. However, as far as I know the lizards that are shown in the books are much less "humanized" than the other beasts (I've read about 80 percent of the series, so there may be some I'm not aware of). So I was wondering, would it be acceptable to have a lizard who walks upright, wears clothes, and uses weapons, even if such a creature is not shown in the books?
