RW Abbey: Infirmary

Several beds are lined against the red sandstone walls of the Abbey's Infirmary. An examination table, separated from the rest of the room by hanging blankets, rests against the far wall. Tucked into a small alcove is a sizeable workbench with various containers for mixing and preparing medicinal compounds. Against another wall is a desk for use by the Infirmary Keeper. A curtained off alcove behind the desk hides a locked door to the Infirmary's supplies and linens.

Exits: Infirmary [Rec]overy Room, [H]ealer's [D]ormitory, [O]pen [G]round, [Hall]

Badgers: Oz, male.

Mice: LilyMoore and Angela, females.

(Nice) Monitor Lizards: Zarok, male.

LilyMoore is sitting in a rocking chair in a corner, sewing. On her right side she has a pile of fabric thingies that need mending; on her left side is a basket with 1 already mended thing carefully folded in it. Angela is still working on her inventory. There is a locked metal box sitting on the counter now. It's about the size of a regular haversack.

A certain monitor lizard--Zarok--slips into the Infirmary. He hasn't been here in a while and he wanted to visit his adoptive cousin, LilyMoore. The young reptilian approaches as quietly as he can, trying not to disturb the peace of the Infimary with his admittedly lumbering presence. He glances over briefly to the box.

Oz walks into the infirm, of course he can't see what is going on and since that box is on a counter that is good, he won't bump into it, he clears his throat as he speaks "Greetings, how is every beast doing?" He is checking on a dibbun that was in here after running into another dibbun while playing in the snow, yep two mice dibbuns slammed into each other and this one got the bloody nose cause of it, the other is fine and both got told no running from now on.

LilyMoore keeps on sewing, ignoring everyone else. She is working on fixing a patch on a blanket that got ripped. Angela turns and looks at the badger, smiling. "Ah, good day, Oz. Are ye 'ere to check on your Dibbun?" She spots the monitor lizard and narrows her eyes at him. "Z--Zarok, yes?" She can't recall ever being formally introduced to him, ever. So either DoraRose had a slip-up or Angela's memory isn't working correctly today.

Zarok smiles toothily. "Yup, thaz'me. Dorroze's nephew...s...." He sniffs about with his tongue tasting the air, then makes a face. He never liked the smell in here. Too...herbal. He sees that LilyMoore is busy so decides to leave her alone for now, instead turning his gaze to the metal box, dark eyes regarding it curiously.

Oz says, "was just making sure all was well, they both were talked to on running and not to do it, there is still ice around outside, even walking can be a little hard sometimes. I found ice by the entry by falling and yes I am fine just bruised my knee..."

LilyMoore peeks at her adoptive cousin, then stifles a sigh and continues to sew. Angela smiles warily at the lizard. "Well, ye can call me Nana, Granma, or Missus Angela. Whichever ye please." She then regards the badger with concern. "Are ye sure yer fine? If ye're lyin' to me, I will limit ye to bed rest...." Because threats are an amazing way to get what you think people need.

Oz always disliked the infirm, it didn't matter who was here or what was wrong, he clears his throat and answers "It's...fine"

Flashing a quick grin to LilyMoore, Zarok returns his attention to Angela. "I call you Mizz Angela den," he says solemnly. "Didya meet Terfil yetsss?" The newt has gotta be around here somewhere...And what could be in that box? The smell of the metal overpowers that of its contents, as far as Zarok can tell.

Glaring at the badger, Angela hobbles over to the examination table and pats it loudly. "Well, please lemme check it, just to be sure." The 'please' is only for politeness sake; her tone of voice will brook no arguments. Lily smiles a tiny bit at the lizard and whispers, "She prob'ly won't tell you what's in the box. But good luck if you ask. he won't even tell /me/." She keeps on sewing.

Oz shakes his head "I have other things to do." He knows her tone, she can be scary sometimes even to him. He limps as he goes to head to the door "I...have a meeting with Benar" Does he? Or is he escaping Angela?

"Mebbe I can open it," Zarok hisses thoughtfully. He snakes his longish neck out over the edge of the table where the box is and peers at it curiously.

"Get back in 'ere, Oz!" Angela grumps. "I /will/ tell 'im that you're not lettin' me check on ye, and I /will/ tie ye to a bed, AFTER I give ye a good tonic. Get back 'ere!" She then notices Zarok sniffing around the box and makes a shoo-ing motion. "Get away from that! Not for ye!" Lily waves urgently at the lizard for him to come pretend to help her with the sewing and so avoid her great-grandmother's wrath.

Oz sighs and decides to limp to the cot and it down. His knee is bruised and a little swollen, its that knee that gives him troubles and more so in cold weather.

"I thought 'nar was napping!" Zarok calls out helpfully before withdrawing his head from the table quickly, darting over to Lily and crouching next to her. "How I do thissss?" he hisses.

LilyMoore smiles at the lizard. "Um......could you please fold all this stuff to make it easier for me to find the next item I need to mend?" She points to the things she has yet to start working on, then goes back to her mending. Angela scowls, then goes to look at the badger's knee. "Does this knee ever give ye any problems?" Does she see the scar that Vladmir Stormfeather inflicted??

Oz does have the scar still, I mean scars don't go away that easy and it had to be cut open twice around the same time it happen due to infection, bad infection at the time "It...yes more so in cold weather, it's why I use the walking staff more so then than in warmer weather. It was injured few seasons ago...dagger all the way to the bone, and there was some infection issues. Not the best...memory but I do remember, parts I was sort of out of it and Leon...well he saved my life. I am unsure if fully healed right but it was not Leon's fault...I blame another for it"

Zarok begins folding the cloth carefully, returning Lily's smile in a display of impressive fangs. He finishes one sheet quickly and sets it aside, moving on to the next...and the next...

LilyMoore keeps sewing. She's not particularly fast, but she's very diligent and careful. "Thank you...." she whispers. Angela purses her lips, then nods. "Well, I would suggest that ye stay off of it for a while, as much as ye can."

Oz sighs, he sounds tried, then he has had a long day, "Not able to do that much sorry...I have the dibbuns to care for, they need me" Yep Oz rarely taks time off it's 24/7 dibbuns it seems. Up early and asleep late sometimes, there is a storm some will climb into his bed. If one is ill he will check on them a lot. If one is hurt he's checking on them. He has his classes, he has his times outside. He cares for them a lot and when awake is rarely away from them, even when he has his mint tea breaks that is a little while after the dibbuns are alseep for the night.

Oz is just rarely without at least some dibbun with him, even now one peeks into the infirm only to be scooped up by an abbey brother

Zarok continues folding cloth, building up momentum until his paws are working quickly and efficiently. Fold, turn, fold fold, turn, put down, pick up, fold, turn fold fold turn....

Oz listens as a mole dibbun complains about being carried off and he is starting to stand back up to go towards said dibbun.

"Sit back down, for sanity's sake!" Angela goes to poke the badger in the chest. "I'm confining ye to the Infirmary until Sunday. There! Now ye 'ave a way to rest yer knee so it doesn't stop workin'!" Lily whispers to the lizard, "Nana sure seems grumpy. I'll bet she'll be glad when Momma and Dad get back...oh, boy, I bet I'll be in trouble then...." she suddenly looks ready to cry. Why did she have to confront Cynthia??

Oz frowns "I am...fine ya old grump" He sighs and does sit back down and oddly lays down as he sighs sounding tired, has he slept much? He mutters a sorry and goes quiet and looks like a few days off is a good idea. He prob'aly over works himself. He stays laid down and seems too tired to complain to the old mouse.

"Ayuh," Zarok says, before suddenly going to wrap his arms and tail around Lily gently, seeing that she needs a hug. "ssss gonna be okay," he hisses soothingly.

LilyMoore accepts the hug, sniffing. "I just wish...tha...that I h....h....h...had kept c....calm....." Angela finishes helping the sleepy badger, then hobbles over to the pair. "Ah, Lily, sweetie..." she lays a gentle paw on her great-granddaughter's head. She really doesn't know what to say. The first Warrior to be in her family was Farrer, who married Angela's daughter Lydia. She doesn't realy understand what to do with/for young Warrior-type beasts.

Zarok, on the other paw, was a warrior from pretty much the moment of his birth in the Southern lands. "'s okay. You didn't know you were gonna. An' you were scared, not in y'right mind...sss..." He hums a calming tune in his rasping, throaty voice, his chest thrumming with the deep notes.

LilyMoore nods, sniffs, then giggles as the lizard's humming tune vibrates; it kind of tickles. "Th....thanks....." Angela goes back to taking her inventory, letting the 2 young ones hang out and learn from each-other....
