To no beast's surprise, Sam can be found in her usual spot in the Library - taking up 3 tables with all of her journals, sketches, stacks of parchment, ink, and a crate. She is, as she has been, performing the arduous task of translating notes from a dirty and worn journal, into clear, legible writing on the clean parchment. As the day wears on, she continues transferring sketches, referring to the dried plants in her crate here and there, and occasionally shuffling through stacks or journals to find lost tidbits of information. She is very much at home in the stuffy atmosphere, and apparently immune to the dullness of the task she is performing.

Leon comes in to look for a book and he stops, his eyes widen "Oh....boy" He mutters as he looks at all the stuff on the tables and frowns, "Sister Zinnia will not like this..." He says quietly. He ventures a little closer and looks at the plant samples, but he doesn't touch them as he just looks from where he is.

"Sister Zinnia can bite me." The botanist mutters grumpily without looking up from her work, always the snappy one when disturbed. She hasn't been able to go a day without the incessant disturbances of the Abbey's social scene, a source of nagging frustration for the introverted grump. But, hey, she's doing important stuff here! Last time, the Abbey got an Herbal out of it - one that the infirmary still uses, if she isn't mistaken.
Leon shakes his head "Well she may get upset, she tends to like things in, well..order in the library. She is our recorder but right now she is going through some rather....well just some news." He says this quietly and adds , "I see you study herbs and plants, that's good."
Demonstrating the self - control that she rarely has (where her work is concerned, at least) Samara coolly replies: "Well, she may take up an issue with me if she has one." She's already been accused of thievery, what's next? Sighing, she finally looks up to regard the mouse. "That I do." She nods to his garb, "I see you're a healer. There is a book here, somewhere, about medicinal plants which I wrote some time ago. This is why I don't think that this dear recorder of yours will mind a temporary disturbance of the order: this work is of some degree of importance." Turning her attention back to the table, she thumbs quickly through a stack of sketches, pulling one numbered '113' from its depths, and pins it to the parchment she has just finished notating before adding to a stack to her left. See? At least there is some method to this madness.
Leon nods "I..see, well maybe when you’re done you can clean up, place whatever needs to be placed back." He is listening "Awww yes, I am Master Healer here, Brother Leon and knowing herbs and such is very important indeed. I have recently had a chance to study snake venom, maybe a possible cure for it with notes I have."
Leon adds "I also know something on poisons, which is important to know for many reasons"
Calm, Sam, calm... "I have been here every day and night for the past week. Have you, or any other beast, noticed a mess any other night?" She tilts her head, though, interested in his input. "Venom? I'm afraid I don't know much on the subject. I stayed with a tribe once, though, and their chieftain would drink it every night. He said that it gave him the power to kill snakes. Legend was that the bite would not affect him." She shrugs. "He was later eaten by a snake."
Leon frowns "Well, I would not suggest drinking it....and yes snake venom from someone and notes, I have it locked away and only I have the key, with me all the time. And no, it’s good you tiny up afterwards, Mayhap Sister Zinnia will have no worries."
Jules pokes his head in wiggling and sniffing around, curious little fella his drawings on his back.
Samara nods, only half paying attention to the mouse as she rises to rummage through the crate - reading the tags tied to the plant specimens. She pulls one out, unwraps it from its protective casing and sets about filling in some apparent gaps in her research. "If she does take offense to my methods, then she will not have to deal with them for long. I am only here until I no longer have need for the libr-" And then she stops, dread filling her as a dibbun pokes his head in. She is not exactly the 'mothering type'; her disdain for interruptions, noise, and disorder paired with a distinct lack of social patience decided that long ago. "Ah -" she clears her throat, uncomfortably "Are you...lost, little one?"

Leon looks over at Jules, "It may be best if you go back to the other dibbuns little one. This is not the best place to go right now."

Jules squeaks softly and wobbles in a little more setting a tray of tea and biscuits down and then hobbles out, seems he was helping the cook deliver refreshments.
The only thing that Sam dislikes more than dibbuns in a library, is *food* in a library (just ask Flicktail). She takes a deep breath, drawing inner strength from some deep, dark place within, and exhales.

She takes a deep breath, drawing inner strength from some deep, dark place within, and exhales. "Th- Thank you...little...thing. Er...small beast...thing." While her execution is definitely subpar, she deserves credit for the effort.
Leon frowns, this is not the best place for food. He goes to quickly have a passing novice take the food away "Take this, elsewhere quickly ok?" The novice nods and does as they are asked. He turns back to the squirrel maid "I have no idea why that would of been brought into here, food is not allowed in here as meals are usually in the cavern hole."

Clean up Samara does, and in record speed to boot. She has a system, and despite the mayhem that is her work area - there is a definite method to the madness. Everything is organized and tucked back into the crate in a matter of moments and with a nod to Leon and a sideways half-smile to the dibbun, she scrambles out, muttering something about plans she forgot she made.

Leon goes to look for the book he needed, oh yes here it is one on snakes and he sits down to start to read it quietly.
