Let's relax by the pond

RW Abbey:Pond

Zinnia walks along the edge of the pond, she did not have much work to do in the library and she rather not visit anyone in the infirm as she goes to sit by the ponds edge and slip her sandals off and dip her footpaws in the water .

Elmef is walking around the edge of the pond, humming softly as he takes in the summer afternoon sunshine, just enjoying the warmth and scents of a proper summer’s day.

Zinnia glances over at Elmef and waves "Hello Elmef, you seem in a good mood today." She stays sat down for now as she smooths out her robe.

Elmef says, "Oh Recorder Zinnia, hello to you," He smiles at her and walks over join the badger, "I am just enjoying the summer."

Zinnia nods "It is a good day today, just hope it stays a good day is all I care about"

Elmef says, "Me too, the weather has been quite good so far and the orchard is doing extremely well."

Zinnia looks over at the orchards, "Should be good fruit for the fall season" She smiles as she does enjoy fall, "And the leaves of all the fall colors..." She frowns a little though at another thought but only a small frown.

Elmef says, "The fall colors are always a delight, the orchard looks magnificent when the leaves begin of  fall"

Zinnia nods, she throws a pebble into the pond, "I bet Mossflower woods is nice in the fall as well. Not that the abbey’s orchards are not nice also."

Elmef says, "Oh yes Mossflower always looks fantastic, I love to watch it from the eastern wall tops as the sun is rising, the whole place shines. Maybe you'd care to join me someday this year?”

Zinnia smiles "Sure, I could do that one day, I am usually up early in the morning doing a few things around the abbey."

Elmef says, "I am normally up just before dawn, some of the best times to check the fields or the orchard is just as the sun rises."

Zinnia says, "Like said, maybe will join you on the wall tops one day. Papa use to get up early but lately he tends to sleep in, I've told him he shouldn't be late for breakfast like he is sometimes."

Elmef says, "We are all late for breakfast someday, though I tend to be late because I've spent my morning up a tree or up to my elbows in soil working on something or other"

Zinnia chuckles, she hasn't had a good chuckle in a few days, "I can't picture myself in a tree, I think I may have climbed one when I was very young like once"

Elmef exclaims, "I am sure you would be good at it! But you may need some guidance, I never thought I could climb a tree until Abbot Benar encouraged me to do so"

Zinnia says, "I don't see me ever needing a reason to, then I rarely go outside the abbey. The one trip was the first time in a while"

Elmef grins, "I've never left the abbey myself, I mean I have travelled around Mossflower a bit but never more than half a day in any direction."

Zinnia nods "I..left the one time last summer, and then the couple weeks trip not too long ago. That’s it since I have lived here."

Elmef says, "Well Zinnia, I am glad you came to live here. You are a great friend to have by your side"

Zinnia smiles "Thanks."

Elmef asks, "So what else have you been up to today?"

Zinnia shrugs, "I..helped my papa with a couple things, did some reshelfing of books in the library, all the recorder records are up to date also, taking the rest of the day off"

Elmef says, "Taking the day off sounds like a fine thing to do my friend. I have finished in the orchards so was thinking of swimming."

Zinnia says, "Swimming can be enjoyable sometimes and it is a slightly hot day"

Leon walks along the path close to the pond and looks over at those gathered.

Elmef says, "Aye I think it is a day worthy of swimming," He pads into the water, lifting his habit to let it wash over his feet.

Zinnia smiles, "I am not the best swimmer, but I know enough I just avoid water that’s too deep"

Elmef takes his habit off and hangs it over a bench nearby then wades further out into the warm waters of the pond before he starts to swim and paddle, the young mouse splashing around happily.

Zinnia watches Elmef and smiles some, a swim could get his mind off some things after all

Leon strolls over towards the pond, but he has yet to get all the way over to the pond just yet.

Elmef is swimming back and forth, the mouse splashing around loudly as he laughs and shouts for Zinnia to join him

The day is fairly warm, as is usual in Mossflower in summer. The head guard is relaxing today, and he saunters over toward the pond with a wave. "Ahoy, mates, lovely day, wot?"

Zinnia smiles, she spots Leon and resist the urge to ask him how someone is, she decides to try not to worry about today as she will join in the swimming and try and have some fun, she waves at Lee "Hi!"

Leon sits down nearby and watches them all.

Elmef raises a paw from the water and waves at Lee, "Hey there, Lee, Leon, nice to see you come on in, the water is brilliant today!" He smiles, the young mouse paddling about

Lee hmms, peering at the pond. "It does look quite refreshin'. Fortunately today ain't as 'ot as yesterday."

Zinnia smiles "It is a way to help one relax, something I should do today most likely"

Elmef laughs softly and smiles lying on his back, letting his body float "Yesterday was indeed quite 'ot!"

Leon nods "I would agree on that, it was hot and swiming can be relaxing...I am thinking of taking a day off maybe myself, just one. “

Zinnia asks, "But what if you’re needed in the infirm?"

Leon answers, "There is always Angela there also"

Elmef says, "If Leon is needed someone will come and get him, or find Angela," He smiles and stands up, water dripping through his fur, "Come swim Brother."

Zinnia nods, "That’s, true I guess."

Lee nods his head. "Indeed. I'm afraid I cannot relax long today. I need to speak ta Benar sometime today. Very important."

Zinnia looks over at Lee and frowns some, she knows some of what needs talked about and goes to get out of the water dripping wet still "I..need to go do something I forgot to do, talks to you all later" She then slips off towards the entry.

Leon chuckles "If I get in the water I may not come back out as easy"

Elmef exclaims, "I think that sounds good to me Leon! You need a day off every now and then," He grins at Zinnia, "Take care Zinnia, see you soon!" He waves at her then grins at Lee, "What did you need to talk to the Abbot about? I think he is in the kiln hiding from everyone."

Leon watches Zinnia head off and looks back to the others., "What me getting into the water, I love to swim...and Lee I do know there is a mole in the infirm that’s hurt, but he should be fine, Rayen mentioned him"

Lee watches the badger depart. "How odd. Ah well. That's a female for ye." Returning his attention to the mouse, he replies, "Ah, nothin' too serious, just some trouble on the road yesterday. Seems a couple abbey beasts got inta a scuffle with a disagreeable ermine named... Longfang, was it? Terrible lack of imagination, if ye ask me. I 'ave no doubt at all that I can dispatch the fellow right quick like. But I do believe Benar should know such things before I take the initiative ta go dispensin' justice on me own."

Elmef smiles and splashes water toward the otter, "Fair enough, if I see him before you I'll mention it, now get in the water both of you! I am the only one out here and bored."

Leon takes off his surcoat and folds it up and lays it on the ground, He has swiming clothing on he can swim and shrugs as he dives into the pond. He swims to the bottom and touches it before coming back to the surface and swimming around. He tends to swim like and otter does almost and at first seems like he is under way to long before surfaces and shaking his head and grinning. One other thing he does well is hold his breath longer than most.

The splash drenches Lee and he chuckles. "Ho now! That ain't sportin' like." He quickly shakes himself, flinging water everywhere, then starts to unpin his cape, folding it carefully and laying aside. "Ye 'ave ta give a fellow time ta get undressed, ye know. Or it ain't fair n' square." The otter unbuckles his belt, laying it and his scabbard on top of the cape. Then, clad only in his tunic and pants, he dives gracefully into the water, without so much as a splash.

The field-mouse surfaces and sprays a fountain of water into the air toward Leon as he goes under and laughs, "Well this is the best, I've not been swimming in ages."

Leon chuckles and goes under again swimming around in circles under the water before surfacing again "This is fun, not had fun in a while"

Lee surfaces not long after, as well. "Oy, well I take a swim ev'ry mornin'. T'is great exercise." Suddenly, the otter remembers something. "Oy, by the way, Elmef, Friar Lacota wanted me ta pass on a message to ye. Not sure why he didn't just tell ye 'imself, but wotever..."

Elmef pops his head back out of the water, his brown fluffy fur slicked down with water as he paddles, "Oh? What does the Friar want? No doubt more fruits or nuts for his latest experiment." He grins and waves at Leon, "See Brother, I told you, you would enjoy it!"

Leon nods "I been a little busy in the infirm, not had time to relax. Nothing...well too major at least."

Lee floats around aimlessly as he answers, "Indeed so. 'E also want's ye ta tell Castus ta stop stealin' so many apples." The otter laughs. "Ye know 'ow Lacota can be about beasts takin' food." He smirks.

Elmef says, "Ah... heh I will do what I can. But getting Castus to do anything is like asking the moon to not change its face. But I can certainly give it a go." He smiles softly across at Leon, "Well you should always find time to relax."

Leon nods as he sighs a little, "Think I know what may have Sister Zinnia a bit upset, maybe we should try and get her to relax some, instead of trying to hide in the library so much past few days." He does relax fairly well as he floats quietly.

Lee glances over at Leon. "Oy, I know as well. It's an impossible situation, though."

Elmef says, "Zinnia has been spending a lot of time in the Library, though I am not sure I can convince her to come out of her shell." The mouse paddles back and forth on his back, splashing water, "I think the Abbot could do it though, she listens to him."

Leon nods as he looks over at Elmef, "He could try, I mean she is the recorder I know that, just maybe ...I don't know, think part of it she be worried about her father."

Maxiene twitches her nose and leads in a rather large hawk with a sizeable pouch, Maxiene squeaks, "Master Leon overs there."  She points him out to the Hawk who caws, "Mister Leon package."

Lee looks over at the hawk. "Well, that's a sight ye don't see ev'ry day."

Leon is NOT coming out of the water, he tends to dislike birds and has his reasons, "Ummm..." He goes back to relaxing on the water

Elmef stares at the hawk that is one huge bird, he shakes his head and swims away, getting a bit further out into the pond, paddling slowly.

Lee looks over at Leon. "Were ye expectin' a deliv'ry?"

Leon shakes his head "No, I was not"

Elmef says, "Well I am sure it will be something fun and interesting."

The hawk lays the package down carefully and flies away.

Maxiene tries to open the pouch being a curious dibbun

Lee asks, "Wonder who it could be from?"

Leon shrugs "I have no clue."

Maxiene wiggles tugging out a note and squeaks.

Elmef says, "Well" He walks out of the pond, water streaming off his fur as he picks up his habit, "I should head inside and see about getting hold of some lunch. I will see you all later."

Leon nods "Ok, he glances over to see if the hawk left or not

Lee climbs up out of the water as well. "Mmm, this was quite refreshin'. Are ye gonna open that pouch, Leon?"

Leon does get out seeing the bird is gone and walks over curious, but also careful of the package, but with one paw he hmms and uses his tail to help him open it, much like he uses his tail for healing in the infirm now.

Maxiene scoots over to Lee and squeaks letting the pouch alone, the Hawk Is long gone.

Inside the package rests a note on what is in the five vials of gold liquid, the note informing Leon about the adder venom inside it, and a few tips about discovering an antivenom.

Lee pats Maxiene's head. "'Ello there, little Miss." He shakes himself dry, then grabs up belt and scabbard again, and starts to buckle it around his waist once more. "Oy, who's it from, Leon, does it say?"

Leon looks at the note and down at the vials and raise an eyebrow, he shakes his head "No..it doesn't just what it is and...some other things on the note"

Lee asks, "Now who on earth would send a package without puttin' their name on it? How odd."

Leon says, "I am gonna have to keep this locked up somewhere"

Maxiene ear wiggles, "Snake hare."

Lee peers over at the vials as he picks up his cape. "Wot is it, anyway?"

Leon answers as he places his surcoat on and places the vials in a sack "Snake venom and..notes on possible like..finding a way to cure someone who gets it inti their system."

Maxiene nods and wiggles her whiskers.

Lee's eyes widen. "Snake venom?!? Good grief. Definitely, make sure that stuff be locked up tight, Leon."

Leon nods "I would, trust me I know to keep it away and locked up"

Lee smiles. "Good thing, then."

Leon nods, "But the notes are very interesting, I will have to study them a lot"

Lee hmms. "I wonder who could 'ave written them."

Leon says, "I have an idea, but I did not meet the beast just heard she was here" He studies the note and then  looks to them “I will talk to you later.” He walks away as he intends on looking this over some now.
