Just Fishin' :)

FV:Pond

This is a large pond that is close to the fields and the orchands of Ferravale. The pond looks very well cared for and in warm months flowers of all colors grow around it. The pond is large enough to have a small fishing boat big enough for two beasts and also for a good number of beasts to swim in. In winter beasts can enjoy ice skateing. There is also a couple oak and maple trees here growing by the large pond.

Marek the stoat. Blisa the cat, Ferdinand the ferret, and Basilisk 'Basil' the whiptail snake.

Marek is taking today off as he just sits by the pond. Also few can bother him here or complain to him. He tosses a stone into the pond and watches it make rings.

And one of those people who can bother him is about to! Although it wasn't her intent when she left the house. Blisa is wearing an oversized, rather ridiculous-looking straw hat and old, very much patched clothes. She is riding on Basil, just at the base of his head, but he doesn't complain. He's just happy to be out of that stuffy house. The young cat keeps a tight hold on the fishing gear she's in charge of while Ferdinand, also dressed in old, patched clothes (but minus a big floppy hat), walks alongside the reptile. They have their weapons with them, as usual, but they seem relaxed and happy. When she catches sight of the stoat, the feline waves and calls, "Hi, Marek!"

Marek sighs as he hears the voice, "Hello...least you don't have a blade pointed at me"

Blisa slides off her snake's back when he arrives at the stoat's side. She addresses him while Ferdinand tries to keep Basilisk from slithering into the pond, explaining to him that they're here to fish, not swim. "What do you mean, Marek? have beasts been threatening you?" She sits beside him and pulls off her big floppy hat, setting it at her side.

Marek shakes his head, "Not as much as before. But I do not blame some, I do still have my past and I can not change it Ms. Blisa. Nor can I expect everyone's forgiveness to come very fast, maybe in time."

Blisa nods, refraining to tell him that she has, indeed, forgiven him. She's secretive like that. "Well, has anybeast recently forgiven you? Perhaps instead of focusing in on the bad, you should focus on the beasts that have forgiven you, and the few that even seem to trust you. Like LilyMoore. She really likes and trusts you. Butterclaw brought you another letter--I think he hasn't figured out where you live." Basil has finally figured out that they're not here to swim, and so he is now trying to catch an elusive fish with his mouth, much to the aggravation of the ferret. "Like, I was focused on what a fox named Vladmir Stormfeather did to me when I was about 2 or 3 seasons old. It made me angry...until I focused on what I had. Like my father. And my friends." the cat smiles.

Marek nods "A few from the abbey have forgiven me and I do have, well some friends at least and your father Scioto trusts me, as well as that old badger in town."

Blisa raises her eyebrows in surprise. "How in the world did you get that old grump to trust you. BASIL, NO!" The snake ignores her screech of alarm and dunks his head into the pond, trying to catch the elusive fish. As the fish gets away (again), a huge wave of pond water splashes towards the cat and the stoat. The feline tries to get away, but she still gets soaked. Ferdinand runs to the pair, digging out a couple of towels from the picnic basket as her runs by it.

Marek's eyes go wide as he sees the wave of water and then is soaked and stands there, well least it's a hot day so the water does feel good. He shakes his paw as lets water drops fly and grumbles before clearing his throat "I am unsure, maybe 'cause I helped his niece and I have not tried to harm him in any way. Did tell him shut up once, that was a mistake as that cane of his hurts."

Blisa whacks her snake really hard on the nose. "Bad snake! Stop hunting fish like that!" Basil looks ready to cry (if only snakes could do that) and coils himself into a very sad-looking ball. The cat accepts the towel from Ferdinand, who holds the other one out to the stoat. "Thanks, Ferdy." She turns back to the Tavern Keeper (Owner? Whatever his job is) and says, "Sorry. My snake is dumb sometimes." She listens then says, almost with disbelief, "He hit you with his cane?!"

Marek gets the towel and starts to dry off "Yes but not hard, see a beast try to pick pocket him in the tavern, they got knocked out with that staff. "

Blisa laughs at that idea. "Nobeast has tried to pick my pocket for a really long time. The last time it happened Ferdy threw him across the room. And the time before that I clawed the pickpocket's face to ribbons. I have yet to be hit by that crazy old badger's staff, which I am quite happy about." Ferdinand has somehow managed to get Basilisk to stop moping and help him keep a look out for fish while the ferret casts his fishhook on it's line out into the water.

Marek shrugs "Most leave him alone as he don't seem much of a threat"

Blisa nods, then says, "I wonder where he lives...?" Ferdinand and Basilisk start shouting excitedly, and after a few minutes they drag onto shore a fair-sized fish. The cat smiles, then peers up into the stoat's face. "Wanna share our fish when we go home? You're welcome to join us for our meal."

Marek asks "Where who lives ?" He then looks surprised "You want me to join you for lunch?"

Blisa grins. "Zee, I think his name is. I'm not sure of where he lives." She then shrugs. "Sure!" then, realizing that she sounded way too eager and happy about trying to be his friend, she tries to cover up the fact that she does indeed want him to join them for lunch. "Well, I mean, we're probably gonna catch allot of fish, so we'll need to share it with /somebeast/ so they don't go bad."

Marek nods and manages a smile "I be glad to join you. And he lives in a one room hut in the housing area...Zee that is"

Blisa smiles, hoping her cover of whatevah and being aloof wasn't blown. "I should drop in on him sometime. Hey, wanna help us catch some of the fish? We have an extra rod." She goes over to the supplies and holds up 2 fishing rods.

Marek actually chuckles "I have not fished in a long time, usually had some other beast do it for me"

Blisa grins and hands him a rod. "Well, you can always start now. C'mon! We got some bits of food for bait, so you don't have to touch any worms!" She kind of laughs as she puts some bait on her hook, then sits down and casts her line. Ferdinand, meanwhile, has caught about 3 more fish, with Basilisk helping-but-not-really-helping-but-don't-tell-him-that-he's-not-actually-helping.

Marek shrugs and gets a pole and bait and goes to fish. He ends up catching 5 fish and ends up enjoying the after noon and having fun , something that's rare to him and maybe can slowly get a little less rare to him.

Blisa herself catches about......1 fish. oh, well. She still had loads of fun. When they are done they clean the fish, then go home and bread them, fry them, then eat them with salad! Yum!
