Moledeep: Foremole's Study

Its been a long day so far for the stoat, having been doing laps around the pond, getting himself back into shape, preparing for his training. And now, he's just reading a book in the quiet of the study. His son, Chris, is napping on the floor in the middle of the room.

William had been looking for the otters to give the twins their wagon but he'd found them and Fira asleep with Aik having gone off somewhere from the look of it. Though the old otter probably hadn't gone far the rat does go looking for him but instead pulls the wooden wagon along behind him as he heads off to find somewhere to put the wagon in the meantime. As he passes the study he sees two stoats inside and shrugging figures why not put the wagon it there. He waves a little to Kentar and hisses over, "Mind if I leave this in here?" trying to be quiet as not to wake Chris.

Kentar hums and looks up as he sees Will come in. "Hey Will." he says quietly, and tiredly. "No, no not at all." he smiles a little bit, setting his book in his lap. If Will was to see the cover, it's a book written in a completely different language.

Will gives his brother a smile and pulls the wagon into the room. "Benar made it. ... I was gonna help him but that was right before th twins were born so I never got around to going back to th Abbey til he'd already finished it," the rat explains. "It was supposed t be for 'the new baby' but Chris'll probably use it more than th twins will at first and we can use it th haul wood and stuff when they're sleeping," he chuckles doubting his nephew would part with the wagon easily once he sees it

Kentar laughs a little bit and smiles, looking at the wagon. "Well, he sure did a fine job on it! And yeah, he'll probably think it was made for him in the first place." he laughs a little. "He'll like it though. Might get some use sooner then he will think." he nods.

William nods, "I heard they wandered off th other day. And have t stay in for a week was it? Could be worse." He shrugs and goes over to the bookshelf to pick out a book from their meager selection. "Hmmm, suprised Mum hasn't sent Pa off t th Abbey for new books yet."

Kentar nods. "Yeah. Kluna and him. But I'm planning to let them off a little sooner." he nods once or twice before shaking his head slightly. "I don't think so, no. I could go off and get some sometime if you wanted." he nods.

William shrugs, "Up t you. Mum th one that reads th most around here usually. I'm sure Pa'll be over there at some point before Winter anyway." The rat selects a well worn book and goes to sit down in a chair near the stoat, propping his boots up on the table

Kentar laughs. "I know. But I read a lot now too." he nods. "Thanks to Robin having brought a few books with him and Bale when they showed up." The stoat nods, holding his book up.

William looks over at Kentar's book and squints at the writing. "That not English. That doesn't even look like words. How can you read that?" he ask laying his own book aside and sitting up more, causing his feet to return to the floor. Clearly the stoats book with it's foreign writing his much more interesting then which ever book Will had picked.

Kentar chuckles a little bit. "Its easy. Well. To anyone who knows how to speak it." he nods a little bit. "But really, its the same thing as what your reading. My dad taught me how to speak this...before I was taught how to speak English." he nods. From the sound of things, it wasn't his father who taught him English

William nods, "Like Pa. He used t talk different on his island and his sword and that armour for his arm had some stuff wrote on them that wasn't English either. I think he said it was his name or something."

Kentar nods a little. "Yeah." he nods before tilting his head. "And you only know English right?" he asks, tilting his head a little bit.

William shrugs, "Well, I can only /read/ in English but I can talk in Sparra and a used t know a little molespeak too but I don't use those much now."

Kentar laughs a little bit. "They're sort of the same really. English and the others I mean. Only sound different." he nods.

"I guess but I doubt anybeast around /here/ would now what I was saying if I started talking in Sparra all th sudden. .... Actually I did back a long while ago when I was talking t Dunplume an Pa had no idea what I was saying to her or what she was saying t me," the rat chuckles

Kentar laughs a little bit and nods slowly. "Yeah, but Aikuen isn't the smartest beast in the land." he smirks.

William grins and tries to give the stoat a light nudge in the leg with his boot, "Neither are you. Still think Mum's probably th smartest beast here. She reads books like yours without knowing how to before she reads em I hear."

Kentar chuckles a little. "No, but I'm not as slow as Aikuen is." he laughs a little bit. "But yeah, she is. Smartest. Garnet is smart too!" He smirks.

William nods a little, "I'm sensing a pattern here. On the one paw I really hope th twins take after Fira in smartness but on the other they could use that against the rest of us."

Kentar nods a little bit and chuckles. "I just hope they don't get their father's smarts. That would be cruel." He nods, laughing a little bit.

William nods, "Very unless it's just th fighting part."

Kentar nods a little. "Yeah." he smiles some before tilting his head. "Chris has my smarts for sure." he chuckles a little bit. "I think anyways. Could just be his young mind." He laughs.

William smiles, "Should we be worried? It's a pretty big wagon if they don't mind sharing I think both Chris and Kluna could easily fit in it."

Kentar frowns and leans over to try and flick the rat on the shoulder. "No! You shouldn't." he nods slowly before looking to the wagon. "Yeah." he nods. "They will." He chuckles.

William tries to dodge the stoat and fails greatly but falling out of his chair. "I was joking. Don't hurt me!" he laughs holding his arms over his head as if the stoat were really about to attack. He's been bored lately.

Kentar grins and slips a bookmark in his book before getting up. He grabs a pillow from near Chris, the stoat having rolled off it. He grins and shakes his head. "Sorry. I'm a stoat. I'm stupid and evil." he goes to smack the pillow over his head.

William takes the pillow to the face and tries to grab it away from his brother. He says, "Why do I not believe you?" Physically the rat is about done growing, (vertically anyway) but he still has a ways to go mentally it seems.

Kentar laughs a little and ergs as the 'weapon' is taken away from him. "No! Don't hurt me, please." he falls to the floor and covers his head. He's just a big baby at heart.

Will is still laying on his back with the pillow grasped tighting in his claws and then he throws it at the stoat.

Kentar runs out of the room and heads outside to escape the rat.

Moledeep: Well

Aikuen is sitting by one of the trees, near the well. Resting as he watches his daughters. The oldest of all the otters has a small smile on his face, as he rubs each sleepy ones back. They both grr quietly, as they sleep on. Aik yawns, but stays awake, until Fira can take over. Aik chuckles, as he pulls out his dagger and a small green stone. He then quietly taps the rock against the blade. A technique that he learned while a fighter, and his younger days.

Kentar slowly comes into the area with a quiet yawn, hrming as he sees Aikuen. The stoat grins and slowly tries to sneak up behind him, not seeing the dagger in his paw.

Hannah steps into the area, gazing about at some of the faces whom she's met upon arrival here at Moledeep. She's been hanging about, getting used to the place, and has found herself quite nicely at home here. She still isn't sure if this is the place she wants to be, though, but she continues to try and fit in.

Theophilus looks around, hiding in the shadows. So many beasts! He watches, waiting to see what happens before he reveals himself, with a slightly amused expression on his face, though no one can see it.

Aikuen continues to tap the rock against the blade, slowly chipping at it. He brings the blade up into the sun for a minute before going back to the tapping. The otter totally misses the stoats, and otter, as he continues to work. And his little ones still sleep up, in dream world bliss.

Kentar grins and kneels quietly behind the otter, grabbing him by the shoulders. "Hey Aikuen!" he laughs, grinning evilly. He doesn't bother waiting for Aik's reaction as he spots Hannah, waving some.

Hannah sees what Kentar's doing and blinks, staring a bit, not sure what to think.

Theophilus chuckles quietly, and turns around and walks out, heading for the sleeping hall.

Aikuen blinks as his shoulders are grabbed. This otter is up and ready to fight. Kinda happens when his kids are around. In about the time it takes a beast to blink, the otter changes paw position of the dagger quickly, then speeds it to stab the beast behind him. The blade comes within an inch of the male stoat, tickling his fur, before it stops, "Kentar... Your going to have to learn to stop doing that... I cant think as fast i used too..." he shakes his head, and chuckles.

Kentar was still waving towards Hannah when the dagger came close to killing him. "What...erg.." he looks down. "Man, watch where you point that thing! And I didn't know you could ever think fast." he smirks.

Hannah gasps softly when she sees the dagger stab towards Kentar, but when it halts just shy of his flesh, the jill sighs with relief and walks over, "Seriously, there's got to be a better way of greeting friends...or is this common?"

William had seen Aik by the well, and Kentar, from the entrance. The rat had missed the stoat's near stabbing because he had gone back in to get the wagon from the study to show his father.

Aikuen pushes the stoat, "Haha... Very clever..." he snorts and goes to put the dagger on the ground. Out of the otters paws the better. He blinks and looks up over at the new beast, "Er? Oh! Heh... Hiya Hannah... And he snuck up on me..." he nudges him, "And its pretty common... at least with otters..." Fira tends to hurt Aik when he does that. But she cant help it, as she is deaf.

Will is now outside again with a large wooden wagon in tow. He walks over to the well and stops the wagon beside Aikuen. "Hey, Pa. Look what I got for th twins. Benar made it." The rat drops down next to the otters and strokes the nearest of his sisters, "Do you like your wagon?" he asks her

Kentar looks to Will next and smiles. "Drat, you found me!" he laughs a little before plopping himself down on the grass.

Venei, the nearest sister, grrs lightly as she thumps her little rudder against the ground. Still sleeping away like there is no tomorrow. Aikuen blinks and smiles, "Heho Will." he tilts his head at the wagon, and snorts, "Well yah look at that..." he chuckles, "Ain't that something... Tell Benar thank you, the next time you see him... I'm sure they will love it!" he grins.

Hannah sits down nearby, resting herself some as she looks over the other creatures.

Kentar lets Will and Aik talk as he heads over towards Hannah. "Doing alright?" he asks.

Hannah ohs and nods, smiling up at Kentar as he walks over to her, "I'm doing just fine. Just been looking around Moledeep until I got here, thought that a rest would be nice."

William nods a bit, "I will. He's ... he's not doing too well. Miz Gwen's missing. Has been for a long time now. Some think she might be dead. ... Benar'd started courting her a while before she went missing."

Kentar chuckles a little. "Yeah, it is odd. Don't know why they abandoned it. But, honestly, I don't mind. Its nice to have a spot where I can live with my friends." he nods

Hannah nods and says, "True. Friends are hard to come by these days, I fear."

"Family," Will corrects Kentar, "We're not just your friends. We're your family too, you silly stoat." He blinks at Hannah's words, "Why's that?" he asks.

Kentar hums and looks to the rat. "So true! Hehe. Family." he nods before looking back to the other stoat. "Yeah. I know what you mean. Hard times we live in. Can't trust everyone you meet." he frowns a little.

Hannah lowers her ears and nods in agreement, frowning a little as her mind starts to wander.

Aikuen chuckles at Will, as he picks up Ella and holds her in his arms. He watches Hannah for a minuet before tilting his head, "Something on your mind?" hope they didn't say something offensive.

Hannah blinks and looks up at the otter, "Oh, no, no...just...thinking of harder times, I suppose."

William leans back against the well and drifts off to sleep.

Aikuen tilts his head even more so, "I'm guessing you have lead some sort of hard life eh?" he chuckles, "Sorry... But we all have some stories to tell of a hard life. Some are still living in it." he snorts, "What's yours?... if you have one... and don't mind telling us... of course..." just asking.

Hannah looks down at her belly, stroking it before saying, "He was a good one...but..." she sighs, "Apparently not good enough to stay..."

Aikuen ahs and nods, and wonders if he should say something. Very delicate situation right here. He looks down at his daughter before looking over at her again, "I'm sorry..." is all he can think of without possibly hurting the stoats feelings. He sighs and licks his daughters head, "Well... were all friends... and Family here... Your welcome to stay... as a resident... if you wish..." he smiles a bit.

William is still sleeping, propped up by the well so he doesn't fall on his face onto the ground.

Aikuen bounces Ella a little bit before looking over to Will, "Sleepy head... Should be awake... like us otters..." Ella buries her head into Aik's arm still sleeping away. Aik grins, "That's what I thought..." he chuckles.
