RW Abbey: Infirmary
Several beds are lined against the red sandstone walls of the Abbey's Infirmary. An examination table, separated from the rest of the room by hanging blankets, rests against the far wall. Tucked into a small alcove is a sizeable workbench with various containers for mixing and preparing medicinal compounds. Against another wall is a desk for use by the Infirmary Keeper. A curtained off alcove behind the desk hides a locked door to the Infirmary's supplies and linens.
Exits: Infirmary [Rec]overy Room, [H]ealer's [D]ormitory, [O]pen [G]round, [Hall]
Zinnia walks quietly into the infirmary with some thin oatmeal, with a little bit of pears and nuts, also some green sap milk. She nods to a healer and walks over to her Uncle, "Uncle Zee are you awake?" If he isn't a healer can tend to him later.
Zee opens his eyes as he sees Zinnia and smiles "Hey lass, ya...doing ok?" A healer had just finished with changing bandages and checking on him.
Zinnia smiles a little "Yeah...I guess, you hungry?" She offers to help with spoonfuls of thin oatmeal and pear, she also has water which may be better for him.
Zee sighs, he does eat the oatmeal, he sips some water and coughs "I..hate this, I feel like a dibbun again but it a bad way." He hates the fact someone else has to feed him, and help him drink water. He can move his arm a little but not enough to eat or drink very well yet.
Zinnia frowns "Your badly hurt and will take a while to fully recover, I won’t have to or any beast else, have to help you eat too much longer. "She tries to smile and sees if he wants any more of breakfast.
Zee nods slowly as he finishes breakfast, he sips the last of the water before asking "You have ate breakfast, right lass?" There is concern there in his voice.
Zinnia answers "Yes Uncle Zee, I finished updating some abbey logs this morning and reshelfed some books in the library." She puts the bowl and cup on a tray before sitting back down beside him, "Feeling ok?"
Zee raises a paw, a bit shaky and reaches for her, "More worried bout you lass. Me being 'ere and Xander still being out thar somewhere. He is alive...I was told he was and he will be back with us, when I don't know that mouse is not very.....clear." He snorts, but smiles "Least ya father is clear on wot he said. Zinnia needs ya, help her and keep ya promise of watching over her and Ozzy."
Zinnia takes his paw as she listens" I want to believe he is alive, it's one thing that maybe helps..." She sighs "Least it’s not as bad as when....when papa died."
Zee frowns" I heard, and I am sorry I was not thar for ya ad Oz...but I am here now, ta help with whats happening now lass. And ya friends are as well. Whoever helped you before needs my total thanks."
Zinnia is silent before she nods and stands, she quietly speaks with the healer who nods and lets the two have some quiet time, also they are a few beds away from others and others are asleep. She sits back down, “It was...a hard time. I was lost and it felt like the end of the world and you were missing. I..I didn't fully tell any beast this but, least at first, I didn’t volunteer for the trip to the mountain to help, it was to get away from here and at the time never return. Then Leon and Dorarose had joined me and so...I figured just give the badger lord these notes and letters on his desk and just leave, even had my own letter ready for Leon and Dorarose to leave with them, I later ripped the letter in pieces when it, well wasn’t needed."
Zee nods "Ya..mentioned this lass and that ya and that Lord Ciocan spoke to one another and he helped ya feel better."
Zinnia is silent for what seems like forever, "He said...Only that you have locked yourself away from the world, see the beasts around you, trying to reach you but unable to break through to you.... you are lost Zinnia, without direction and hiding from the world...." She remembers the words clearly, “And he was right, I was at the time."
Zee frowns "But you don't feel that now...do ya?"
Zinnia shakes her head "No...also it was far far worse, Ciocan knew but it was keep between me and him, I was also suicidal at the time." She looks at her Uncle "I am not now not to worry, I am sad and worried about Xander but I have hope he is alive and will be found. I know your recover and get better and I have my friends and even Uncle Oz here to help me, when papa died I..don't know..I let myself get so..lost, I am only glad someone helped me be found again"
Zee frowns, he nods "I am glad de lad helped ya Zinnia. He will do fine as de Badger Lord that lad is wise, helpful, and caring. He may of been new to leadership but he has it in him ta do great and that’s from the small bit of time I spoke to him in his forge."
Zinnia blinks "You...spoke to Lord Ciocan..when was this?" She asks "Why didn’t you tell me?"
Zee chuckles and tenses up darn pain "Does in matter lass and it were before I seen you on the beach. I may of stayed but...well I dislike all the closed in, no windows thing of that place and one who can handle that is clearly leader worthy as I would go a bit insane with closed in stone walls. Anyways lass I am glad he helped ya."
Zinnia nods "he did and I saw badger script, can’t say what seen " Mainly her past and her the mountain was seen, her being at her father’s grave, her being lost in her mind and apart from the others....also a brief picture of her on the beach finding who she later would know as Xander but also a picture of him standing by her older and with her father's blade. "Just..interesting stuff but I remembered it, and...it sort of helped me know Xander alive and will be found, not when or how...but found "
Zee smiles " Then ya keep that as ya hope. I bet someone can look for him soon enough. The Vikings be gone at least." He frowns some" And not to made more worry happen but I be sure that Zurrgg beast is still around and knows those Vikings be gone as well. So I don’t want ya going out alone lass, you need something from de market take Flicky or some guard or someone that can fight and is not already wounded and healing"
Zinnia nods "I promise Uncle Zee, no plans to go out. I am low on ink and could use a new quill pen but I will be fine. I will take someone with me if I venture out the gates, I promise"
Zee says, "Good lass..good. If something happen ta ya I would blame me self, that and ya father would come outta his grave and slap me himself and haunt me fer de rest of me life and most likely make sure it was many seasons till I went to de dark forest, then he complain to me thar too""
Zinnia chuckles "I could picture that happening"
Ping peeks into the room and glances around carefully "Umm...he..hello?"
Zee grins "Yeah..."He nods to the..what is that? A hamster is sort of new to him "Hi thar lad"
Zinnia offers a smile as she stands "Hello are you new? If so welcome to Redwall Abbey. I am Sister Zinnia and this is my Uncle Zee...did you need a healer?"
Ping shakes his head "I...no no I was just looking around was all." He seems surprised to be welcomed "Umm...where would one stay or speak to on that?"
Zee says, "Thar is Abbot Benar, or maybe a Brother of Sister in the order." He chuckles "Or me niece here would know"
Zinnia smiles "There is the bunk room and breakfast may still be going on if you need food, but not much longer on breakfast..or wait" She gets some oatmeal and milk "And extra meal was accidently brought up you want it...ummm sir?"
Ping takes the offered food "Umm...thanks and its Ping...just Ping." He eats the food and sips the milk as he is being quiet.
Zee asks, "Ya ok lad and ya here alone or with friends?"
Ping answers "Umm..mate and..daughter but they are..somewhere waiting om me." He seems jumpy and sighs "Thanks for breakfast but I need to go..t...thanks " And he rushes off elsewhere.
Zinnia blinks "I wonder if he is ok, or maybe he just dislikes infirms"
Zee says, "I tend to DISLIKE infirms but who know" He yawns "Gonna take a nap" And just like that he is asleep."zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz""
Zinnia sighs as she watches her uncle and then goes to help with chores, and if she is able see if that hamster is alright or not.
