Journey's End...?

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Drakki survives the destruction of his horde beasts...but can he survive a chance encounter with a snake?

Today is a lovely day in Mossflower woods, and all is peaceful and quiet. Well, all is peaceful for those not able to see Aglaeca. The large snake is slithering through the woods, winding around trees silently and looking for prey for the most part. Perhaps he would get lucky and find another fox so that he could match Tulip. He mostly wanted to prove to the other snake that he could indeed catch a pet fox for himself more than anything else, and so he continues on, making hardly a sound save for the occasional snapping twig.

Fortune seems to smile on the snake today. There happens to be a fox in this area, one large enough he probibly counts as two whole foxes. Drakki Crosstooth, once a bandit, once a minor horde leader, and now a common bandit once again. The redfox travels through this forrest with his tail hung low thinking about the life style he had to leave behind. All the food, wine, and gold. The fox has spoiled himself on luxeries to the point that this stomach can almost graze the ground if he were to run on all fours. But its all gone now. Kanezzer will tan his hide once he finds out the horde beasts he left him in charge of have been defeated.

Fortunately or unfortunately for the fox, it didn't seem that he would be needing to worry about Kanezzer. Aglaeca had caught the scent of the fox, and his speed increased as he drew closer and closer to the fox, his tongue flicking in and out of his mouth rapidly as he goes. "Here foxy..." He hisses softly to himself as he draws closer to his prey.

Drakki figits an ear to the sound of something approaching in the woods. Lost in his thoughts and tired from his flight from the jaws of death at the paws of the militia the fox doesn't take notice. Leaning up against a tree the fox begins to pant. How the large red vulpine managed to make it this far with out collapsing from exhastion is proof that he has some muscle somewhere, even if it is burried in a near season of over indulgence.

Somewhere, suddenly, several twigs snap at once. A soft hiss sounds just behind the tree, followed by the terrifying sound of something very, very large moving very close to Drakki. After all, Aglaeca definitely believed in messing with the mind of his prey before striking.

Having never met a snake before the fox is still stunned by the sound. Either he has gone mad or else the boogy man has decided to prove that he is indeed real. Drakki gulps, his ears standing tall and alert. He can hear breathing near by. Slowly the fox begins to draw the short sword from his back, even slower stepping away from the tree.

With absolutely terrifying speed, a sudden crash sounds as Aglaeca basically crashes through the tree, knocking it down, though it falls in the direction opposite of Drakki, and the snake's length is suddenly surrounding the fox with his head directly in front of the vermin. "Well hello there..." Hisses the evil looking snake. "Going sssssomewhere are we?"

There are several stages of emotional distress that drakki feels at the moment. He makes a terrified yelp as the tree falls, another when he finds himself encircled by a snake. His short sword isn't going to be enough. Bumping his tail into the snake behind him Drakki makes an incoherent series of barks and babbling. His tiny sword is held out in front of him, held shakily. "W-what are you?!" he stammers, eyes wide with fear, ears high and alert with terror.

Aglaeca simply seems to smile, if indeed snakes could smile. His eyes do seem rather inviting to look at, as though the fox could just stare into those empty pits and have his problems solved forever. "I am a ssssnake, but don't be afraid...lower your sssssword..." His hissing voice as taken on a warmer, persuading tone, and his head is subtly beginning to move from side to side.

Drakki feels himself compelled to lower the sword. His body tells him, screams at him that he should run away but...he can't take his his eyes off the snakes head. He whines loudly, so this is it? This is how I die? "Pl-please don't eat me..." The fox whimpers.

A soft laugh comes from the snake, and the head comes closer to the fox, instensifying the lathargic feelings that accompany it. "I don't think I'll eat you...." He hisses. "No...you will be my pet, and Tulip and I will match!"

The fox tries to push himself away from the snake, he nearly jumps when his back is pressed up against the snakes tail. He should run, he should flee, he should try to stab it in the eye with his dirk! But, all he can do is stare at the foreboding doom before him. "P-pet?" A glimmer of hope fills the fox. Maybe he won't die after all.

Aglaeca slowly nods, keeping his empty, black eyes trained on Drakki. "Yessss...you would have a friend too! Tulip hasss a fox named Carol..." The snake hesitates, looking away for just a moment. "Or ssssomething along those linessss..." Almost instantly, his gaze switches back to Drakki again. "But you and him will get along sssswimmingly.."

Drakki is manythings. A bandit, horde leader, a thief, a scoundral but most of all, a survivor. If it takes being the 'pet' of some crazed snake to not end up in said snakes gullet then so be it. "I er, humbly accept your offer Mr. Snake." He says with a terrified yelp. He is trying hard not to imagine what kind of meal he would make for the reptile. "I'll be the best pet you ever saw, yep, no qualms there!" He still can't turn away from the beast.

Fortunately, Drakki won't have to look away, because the snake's gaze turns away, only to have his lower half wrap tightly around the fox as he begins to move off through the forest. "Oh, wait until Tulip sssseessss thissss..." He hisses to himself in delight. To Drakki, he raises his voice. "And you wil do thingsss for me, and you will loossse all of that extra fur..."

The fox claws at the ground as he is dragged away. "N-no wait! Stop!" He makes a terrified yelp again that resounds through out the forest. Just what has he gotten himself into?
