It's Ok Top Cry In Front Of Friends

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

RW Abbey: Infirmary

Several beds are lined against the red sandstone walls of the Abbey's Infirmary. An examination table, separated from the rest of the room by hanging blankets, rests against the far wall. Tucked into a small alcove is a sizeable workbench with various containers for mixing and preparing medicinal compounds. Against another wall is a desk for use by the Infirmary Keeper. A curtained off alcove behind the desk hides a locked door to the Infirmary's supplies and linens.

Zinnia walks into the infirm and looks around quietly, she is not in here very often, usually if she is looking to check on a beast she knows.

Lacota looks down at Krystal again, and sighs. "I'm sorry. I got upset there. I did not mean to. You know very well why I did, though. Is it any real secret?" He glances up, spotting the badger, and nods toward her. "Good afternoon, Zinnia."

Krystal nods and smiles a little, she glances over at Zinnia and waves a hello.
Zinnia nods "It..well hope it's a good afternoon. It wasn't on my day off." She looks over at one of the cots and sits in a chair near the two squirrels.
Lacota smiles at Krystal. "I really am glad you're alright." Nodding at Zinnia, he asks, "Well, what isn't good about it, Lass?"
Krystal quietly listens, letting them talk.
Zinnia shrugs and then frowns as some tears come, "An ermine almost killed me, but Papa knocked them away from me..and someone else..fought the ermine and they left but I DON'T know which way cause I was worried about Papa..he seemed ok at first and then he was in pain and couldn’t breath very good and..and it scared me, luckily wasn’t far from the abbey and I was able to get Brother L..Leon there to help."

Krystal yawns and falls asleep.

Lacota nods sadly. "So I heard. Zork told me a little while ago. I do hope he recovers."
Zinnia frowns, "He..I..I thought he was going to die. Cause..cause he said something bout getting worse and I..I don't want to lose him." She tries not to cry in front of the friar but fails badly, then again she been keeping this worry inside her for a while now.
Lacota lays a paw on the badger maid’s shoulder. "Lass... You know he won't... can't live forever..."
Zinnia frowns as tears go down her face, "I..I know but, there may be a way he can get better, maybe Leon just needs to find it..right?"

Lacota shakes his head. "I don't think so, Lass." He sighs heavily. "Zork is in his twilight seasons, Lass. He's unwell. Treasure this time you have left with him, Zinnia."

Zinnia frowns and if she is able to she is going to go and gently hug the friar, she sniffs" Maybe..maybe if I didn’t think it was a good idea to go out the other day he be fine now, or least better some maybe..w..why did he go and attack the ermine like that" If that’s what you call an attack, then what ever."He..he should of not done it."
Lacota hugs Zinnia warmly. "There, there, it wasn't your fault. He did because he loves and cares about you, and wanted to protect you. That is true love, Zinnia."
Zinnia nods, "But..now he is in the infirm, He almost died on the road and, and that ermine is still around. What if it comes back or tries to hurt like Uncle Zee or something, c..cause he fought it off and injured the ermine"
Lacota shakes his head. "Now, don't you think like that. I'm sure that ermine will be dealt with soon enough. You don't worry yourself, Zinnia."
Zinnia nods slowly, "Well..I don't plan on going out, sides...Papa needs me here and I don't want him to worry more than he probably already is."
Lacota says, "Now, that sounds very sensible, Lass. Zork does need you right now, more than ever."
Zinnia wipes away some tears, "Maybe Lee could look for the ermine, it was all white and was north of the abbey, it also had a long sword and this blue arrow on its paw, I saw it when he swung his sword at me"
Lacota frowns. "A blue arrow? Sounds vaguely familiar... But yes, I'm sure Lee is up for the task. He's quite good with a blade."
Zinnia says, "I don't but he seemed to hate badgers and he..he seemed to know my uncle somehow. So maybe Lee can ask him, but uncle Zee lives in Ferravale and he rarely comes here"
Lacota hmms, nodding. "Well, I intend to tell Benar this evening. I'm sure Lee and the guards will out looking for the scum by tonight."
Zinnia nods "I would suggest being careful, he had friends with him by...ummm Uncle Zee killed a couple of them, but there was still a ferret that went with him."
Lacota nods again. "I'm not surprised. Where there's one, there's usually a bunch more with them."
Zinnia says, "I just hope the problem is taken care of soon, it..it may not be very safe on the road right now."
Lacota crosses his arms. "I'm sure it will be soon enough, Lass. I have faith in Lee and the other guards."

Zinnia nods again, a tear escapes down her face, "O..ok, I just want to be able to, not have worries but maybe that’s not possible right now"

Lacota sighs softly. "Listen now, Zinnia. Life is full of worries. You have to choose not let those worries get you down, though."
Zinnia says, "That’s hard sometimes when it’s your father your worried about, how do I not let it get me down."
Lacota shrugs. "There are many ways. You just need to reflect on the positive, Lass. I know it's hard, but you cannot focus only on the negative. It'll eat you alive... Trust me, I know from experience..."
Zinnia says, "So just..try and not worry, and spend time with my father and even help him with things right?""
Lacota nods, smiling. "That's it, you've got it."
Zinnia manages a small smile, "I can help push his wheelchair around, just inside rather than outside, but I know he needs to rest in here a few days and I can make sure he does that"
Lacota nods. "I know he'll appreciate it, Zinnia."
Zinnia nods again " And I know, I have my friends if they are needed."
Lacota says, "That you do, Lass. Friends are very important."
Zinnia says, "Yes they are for without friends it’s hard to say where I would be today, there has been a couple times I would think on giving up on something and a friend helped me through it"

Lacota smiles. "I'm glad you didn't give up, Zinnia. You are an invaluable part of the Order."

Zinnia smiles "I know, and I have worked very hard to keep recorder records, like the recent trip"

I Lacota says, "A vital job, to be sure."

Zinnia smiles" It is and hard sometimes, but also fun to get all the history. But.." She sighs "It can have sad moments when not so good events happen"
Flicktail comes back in from the recovery room to sit down, having done all his chores for the day
Lacota nods again. "Indeed so, Lass, indeed so. But, with life, one must accept both the good and the bad."
Zinnia sighs "I know. But least the abbey records are up to date, I am never more than like a few days behind"
Jules pokes his head in, wiggling his nose, before the dibbun stumbles in heading for the herb cabinet shaking off dirt.
Flicktail sights Jules and reaches over intending to pick the dibbun up and set the mole in his lap "Ello Jules
Zinnia watches the dibbun, the cabinet is locked so he won’t be able to get in
Lacota watches the mole as well. Turning to the badger, he replies, "Punctuality is something I pride myself on. I am glad to see others who appreciate being punctual as well."

Jules let's out a loud squeak, as he is picked up covering his eyes panting heavily, "oah moi head bein, pondin." He wiggles dropping his crude drawings for a well outside the kitchen.

Flicktail frowns and sets the dibbun gently in his lap "what happened Jules?' He asks softly "are you ok?"
Lacota scratches his chin. "Should I send for a healer?"
Zinnia says, "I am sure one is around, somewhere"
Jules rubs his head, "all hot poundy " He frowns, he does feel a little warm, perhaps he is just a little dehydrated.
Flicktail gets him some sips of water "aye bring a healer...my friend and future fore mole be not feeling good
Lacota sends one of the novices to see if Leon or another healer can be found. "He probably hasn't had enough to drink. I've seen it before. Lad would've passed out, eventually. It's too hot to be outside so long without water."
Zinnia says, "Yes this summer has been very hot, that’s true"
Jules sips the water slowly wiggling and nods softly, "no crush ulerints" He of course is referring to his drawings. "A ye makes line dirt well ood, pot."
Flicktail says, "Martin's wishers, you need a bath..a nice COOl one" He says gently getting the drawings and carefully placing them on a table for safe keeping"
Lacota asks, "A bath? I'm sure a novice can help with that."
Zinnia blinks , she is unsure what the dibbun said
Jules tries to tip the glass up with a claw to get a gulp of water

.

Flicktail helps the dibbun "slowly lad, do not choke, them are some blueprints “
Zinnia goes to try and find one of the healers.
