Moledeep: Rose Garden

Kentar is in the rose garden with Robin today, the younger stoat sitting near his father's grave, bandaged still, but able to walk on his own again. Kentar is sitting further away, watching the skies.

Will walks into the rose garden from the main gardens. He stops for a second when he sees Robin but since Kentar is with him the rat doubts the other dibbun will misbehave. He can see the grave stone already and steps a little closer (toward Kentar) to be able to read the writing carved into it. "You make that?" he asks the older stoat quietly, not wanting to intrude too much on the pair.

Robin can be heard crying quietly next to the grave where his father lies. Kentar sits up slowly and nods at Will. "Yes. I did." he sighs quietly, scratching his head. "I did. I wanted my brother to be...known...to whoever takes over Moledeep when we're gone." he nods.

Will nods having now read the stone. "You're really good at making stuff out of stone," the rat says. He has mixed feelings about what has been written on Bale's headstone but he keeps his mouth shut. No need to get the stoats mad at him, especially when the otters are gone.

Kentar sighs and nods a bit. "Yes. I am." he says quietly. "My brother...taught me how. When I was younger." he nods towards Bale's headstone. "I know I did what I had to do to protect my family but." he closes his eye. "I wish I never had to kill him."

Will quietly chews on his lip mulling this over before sitting down next to Kentar. "Ya only did it cause ya had to. ... cause of Garnet an Kluna an Chris an th rest of us. Pa'd do th same if it were him stead of you." Will's guessing a little but it doesn't seem too far fetched from what he knows about the otter.

Kentar nods a little. "It doesn't change the fact that I made it so Robin will never have a father again." he sighs. That's what he feels most guilty about. He lays back again and stares off into the sky.

"True," Will says, "but at least he's got you. That's better then nothing, right?"

Kentar nods a little. "Yeah. I guess." he says. "But I'm not sure if Garnet will let him stay. And if she does, I'll have to convince the otters when they get back. He's older then you are, and he's almost of age. He can go off on his own if he wants then...so..." he shrugs

Will nods, "Well ... if Garnet or Pa an Stepmum don't let him stay you could always walk him over to th Abbey. They let any beast in and if he follows th rules they'll let him stay as long or short as he wants."

Kentar nods a little and then decides to change the subject. "So Will. How are you this evening?" he asks, tilting his head a little, trying to ignore Robin for now.

Will does feel a little odd talking about Robin as if he weren't there but the stoat /could/ say something if it bothered him. "I'm fine I guess. How long do you think it'll be til th otters get back?" he asks.

Amethyst walks out toward the rose garden unaware that it is occupied since she isn't close enough to hear the others over her own singing and lute playing. She walks around aimlessly venting in song as she's spend the last few days in her room since Bale's death. She'd been shaken by the intruders having been able to enter her home so easily and hadn't left her room except out of necessity or to eat. She doesn't sing too loudly since she wants to be able to hear if there are any beasts other then her out here. As she nears the rose garden the words of the song can undoubtedly be heard by the stoats and rat sitting around the new grave. The maid ends her lyrical venting, "... So, are you friend or foe? Cause I used to know."

Kentar shrugs. "Maybe a while yet. They do enjoy their alone time. Might not get it again for another while." he chuckles a little then looks up to hear Amy. "Good evening Amy." he greets.

Will shrugs, "They still need t come back sometime." He chews on his lip a while thinking then says, "They will come back. Probably won't be too long .... unless Pa did something stupid again that's slowing them down."

Amethyst turns toward the voices, "Hello," she gives the others a small smile as she feels around with her staff for a place to sit down. "How is everyone?" she asks as her staff pokes around near Robin whom she is less aware of since he's been so quiet.

"Ow..." Robin says as the staff poked him in the back, still the most sore place since Kentar's...punishment. "I'm alright, I guess." Kentar replies quietly, looking up to see if Robin is okay. Robin just goes back to staring at the ground under him, knowing his father is under there.

Amethyst says, "Oops. Sorry, Robin." She moves around the stoats and sits down.

Robin shrugs slowly. "It's. Fine." He replies quietly, rubbing over where the staff hit him. He looks over to Amy and Will, giving a bit of a sigh. "Sorry for being mean to you when my father and I got here..."

Will nods a little in the younger stoat's direction but doesn't know what to really say.

Kentar looks to Robin and gives a bit of a small smile, where as Robin gives a bit of a sigh from not having anything said back like 'It's alright' or 'Whatever' or something like that. Kentar decides to leave it be and return his focus back to the sky.

Will chews on his lip hearing Robin sigh. He doesn't want the stoat to be upset but he doesn't know how to respond.

Amethyst strums on her lute just playing a random wordless tune.

Kentar's ear flicks at the tune on the lute. He starts to hum along with it before stopping and sitting up. "Amy. Can you play something sad? Just a tune, no words?" he asks.

"Sure. Have something in mind or would just anything do?" the blind maid asks still playing.

Kentar thinks for a moment. "Just something sad sounding." he says, nodding.

Will glances between Kentar and Amy but doesn't say anything. He has a good idea what Kentar's up to.

Amethyst nods, "Ok," though she's unaware that she appears to be copying the stoat in doing so. She stops playing and thinks a moment before starting on a slow sad song of some sort. It's a rather long song, might be from some ballad about lost love or something with all the long notes and flourishes in it.

Kentar hrms as the music starts to play. He waits for a few moments before starting to sing, making up words as he goes. "A long time ago, I had left my home, my brother and my heart." he sings sadly. "But what I did not know is that they would follow me where ever I would go."

Will blinks as Kentar begins singing along with the sad music. The words his big brother is singing seem all too familiar. Will stands up and walks out of the garden so he doesn't have to listen to it.

Before Will leaves, Kentar moved onto the next verse. "But I found something much more meaningful to me. I found another, little brother, and a new heart for me." he sings on still. "I love my new family more then I can see, and all I want is for them to like me..." The stoat just making up the words as he goes along, smiling slightly but frowning when he noticed that Will left.

Will smiled a little at the second verse but he kept walking, needing a little time to himself at the moment.

Amethyst continues to play half wishing some beast would write down what Kentar is saying so this song can be sung again.

Kentar will probably remember the words later on. "And when I met my brother I also met my friend. A friend I'll always keep close to my heart and never let go. But then one day, I found another, another that found me. He came and tried to take it all away from me and almost succeeded. But I struck him down, and everything's all right tonight." he sighs quietly. "Heh, I'm not good at this." he laughs.

Amethyst shrugs, "It's not bad. Keep going, it'll get better once to get to the part about Garnet or Kluna .... I'm assuming this is your life story or something here, sounds a little like the stories I've heard anyway."

Kentar nods a little bit. "It is my life story." he chuckles a little quietly. "I'm uh. Not sure I want to continue." he says, scratching the back of his head. Robin looks up and tilts his head. "Why?" He gets no answer.

Amethyst shrugs again, "Suit yourself, but someday when your old and grey, like a certain otter I can think of, you might change your mind. And when that happens write it down. The words. I can take care of the rest."

Kentar looks up to Robin and sighs after a moment. "Because I don't really want to sing about the part where you and Bale showed up." he says, looking back down. "I guess, I could write down what I want to sing and, maybe, Amy, you could do the music? We could perform it for the otters when they get back?" he asks.

Amethyst says, "Now that's an idea. Yes I can and yes I will only problems are will you and I won't be able to see Fira's reaction if we do explain things that way."

Kentar nods a little. "I will. I promise." He smiles a little. "And I'll describe her reaction to you." he chuckles.

Amethyst smiles, "Thank you. Sooo whenever they return you will randomly burst into song or do you have a different plan in mind?"

Kentar chuckles. "I was thinking, when I bake their welcome home cake, we could do it then?" he asks, tilting his head. Robin smiles a little. "I think it's a good idea..." He seems to be warming up to Kentar and Amy now.

Amethyst says, "Of course it's a good idea. It'll make the otters stare at your uncle as if he were crazy if nothing else. That alone makes it a good idea, plus just telling them what happened wouldn't be near as much fun."

Kentar nods and laughs, grinning a little. "Yeah. So very, very true." he nods. "I think its a plan!" Robin laughs and smiles. "So...When are you two going to practice? And can I watch? Or will I have to wait too?" Robin asks. Kentar just grins. "When my life story is written." he laughs. "And no, you've got to wait too."

Amethyst grins, "Hopefully it will be a somewhat condensed version with no real ending. ... Though the otters may be gone long enough for the full version if they haven't started back yet."

Kentar nods and laughs. "So very true." he chuckles, standing up. "Where you going, uncle?" Robin asks. "I'm going to go start writing!" he laughs before turning to leave. "I'll see you two later. Try not to hurt each other. Too badly." And then he's gone.
