Ideas on how to keep the stupid spammers away (Please read!)

I'm putting this page up for anybody who is sick and dead tired of these stupid spammers messing up our site and have ideas on how to keep them away. Your ideas don't need a very long explination (I would like no less than 3 complete sentences, but it's not a requirment), and any ideas would be welcome. I'm wanting a place where the admin can come, see everybodies' ideas, then decide what would work best. Feel free to post your idea!

And here's mine...

I go on the DAB site to read their RP for the fun of it, and in my explorations there, I've noticed a seemingly effective procedure: They have people who are interested in joining answer a question. I have seen no spam on the DAB site.

So, to apply that here, maybe, when someone asks to join the forums, instead of sending them the temporary password, send them a Redwall-themed question. Then, if they e-mail back the correct answer, send them the password. I was also thinking that the whoever can't ask for another question. Also, it maybe should be a different question every time.

I don't know how well this would work. Who knows? Somebody else's idea may be just what we need. So post your ideas! (Please!)
