RW Abbey: Staircase

A flight of stairs that curve counterclockwise up through the abbey. The walls close in around the stairs tightly, ensuring that no dibbuns will go toppling off the stairs. Each level of the staircase has a stone platform that leads off into the different floors. The advent of an earthquake has not made these old stairs more stable, though the upheaval of the earth does not seem to have rendered them useless; it would be wise for all beasts to heed the squeeks and creaks of the staircase now.

Leon yawns as he starts to head to the infirm.

Moonsong has managed to get free of the infirm, knock out a guard by the stairs and has a broken glass in her paw she seems to be using as a weapon as she makes her escape.

Leon blinks as he sees Moonsong and goes to block her path, "Whoa there, your not going anywhere Moonsong."

Bastien moves from the top of the stairs and towards the rat, he has his longbow with him as he was on duty, but it would be a little hard to fire right now, "Ok stop rat, your blocked on both sides"

The fox followed the head guard to see if he needed help. Unarmed and unarmored Bandit will have to rely on his fist cuffs if a fight breaks out.

Moonsong is no way stopping, "Well it’s the annoying healer..where are de brats, oh well " She smirks and raises her weapon she has, yes a broken glass can be a weapon if used right and goes to shove the mouse and stab down at his chest, not bothering to see if she made a connection or not she simply wants out of this abbey by whatever means possible.

Leon is knocked down, luckily not knocked out, he is also lucky it wasn’t a knife she just used, yes it does appear she wounds him but there isn’t any blood, he lays there a little stunned, well then again wasn’t like he expected to really stop her that easily.

Bastien eyes go wide, he starts to load the longbow, no bad idea he would hit someone, he looks at Bandit, "Check him!" He rushes after the rat maid.

RW Abbey: Entry

You stand on a grassy sward between two cottages. To the south you see a small, calm pond. To the north lies an open space where the Abbey has its feasts in the warmer seasons. To the east is the Great Hall, a massive structure that rises far above the abbey walls and is completed with large towers that pierce upwards into the sky. The main building is completed with a large, iron banded door that would allow one into the Great Hall.

The blanket of snow is replaced with the vibrant greens of spring. Newly sprung flowers and young shoots dot the path. They hold a promise of color and enhancement. The earth is relatively dry here, and the soil rich for growing, but muddy patches of dirt still can be found. Many Abbeybeasts can be seen tending to the gardens, though some are content with just being out and about, enjoying the warmth of the virgin sun and the pleasent weather. Dirt pawprints are tracked upon the clearing's surface, serving as witness to the fact that the majority of Abbeybeasts are caught up in the "spring fever." Most will will do just about anything, or make any excuse to be outside, eager to watch as spring colors emerge in scraggly clumps.

Moonsong has made it to the entry and the gates, she is about to go to the road. The guards are on alert now as they know who she is and that she is trouble.

Bastien has still given chase, he motions for others to go inside as he takes aim at the rat, "Stop..stop or I will fire this!"

Bandit comes skidding to a halt once outside the abbey doors. He looks from the rat to the guard and to the beasts trying to get out of the way.

Leon has gotten up, and went to follow them, his tunic is torn and he holds the one thing that prevented his possible death, the glass is sank into a stuffed toy of some sort, well the toy is dead guess, he looks to see if any healing is needed as he frowns at the torn tunic but can worry on that later.

Moonsong grins "I am not stopping till I am outside this gate, ya hear me bunny..stupid long ears" She grabs an unlucky novice as she backs out to the road, "Fire already...but you may hit a friend", She smiles coldly.

Bastien cusses under his breath but keeps the longbow pulled back to fire when he can, "Release the novice and you will not be harmed, you can go peacefully...keep ahold of them and this ends badly" He stays calm as he says this.

Bandit curses, "Crazy rat." The fox begins walking alongside the inner wall of the entry way, making a half circle path towards the rat. Maybe I can at least distract the rat long enough for Bastien to get a shot in, he thinks.

Leon looks at Bandit curiously, why the circle, he then watches the rat maid and the archer hare to see what happens, he is not a fighter but a healer may end up being needed either way.

Moonsong glares, "Oh yeah right, I know that’s a trick long ears. I am not a fool" .She backs up with her captive, the guards stay ready to take action when they can.

Bastien keeps the arrow notched and takes a deep breath and waits for a good moment, "Ok..let them go". He edges forwards slowly, he motions for the other guards to wait, he can handle this.

Leon watches from close by, not too close but enough to quickly help if the novice is hurt, he places the stuffed toy in his robe pocket and looks around the area to know where everyone is or isn’t, he also keeps an eye on the gatehouse.

Moonsong smirks, she looks at Leon, "Gee I didn’t kill ya...that’s sad you should be dead on the stairs..no matter" He looks at the gatehouse and smiles coldly, "I have a much better idea for a captive..maybe I can go after your family" She punches the novice out and makes a dash to the gatehouse, she goes to open the door and grins at the weapons, "Perfect..."

Bastien frowns, he rushes forwards before the rat can get too far, longbow draw and, yes he is going to fire it the first clear shot he gets.

Bandit snarls when the novice hits the ground. He can’t tell from here if the novice is hurt or dead. He wants to rush at the rat but he knows better than to get in the way of an archer. "Take her down!" He yells.

Moonsong has gotten inside to a see a very surprised squirrel maid who was about to take two little mouse dibbuns out for some air, her eyes go wide and the dibbuns wail, the rat smirks, "Hello...your do nicely" Her voice is cold.

Leon frowns, he frowns more when he hears the dibbuns, "Wait!...Be careful what if you hit someone else!" He decides to trust the hare, he checks on the novice the rat knocked out and sighs in relive, they will be ok just sore from a bump on the head.

Bastien takes aim, he waits and fires it at the rat maid’s back, the arrow is released straight and true towards its mark, hopefully the rat stays still.

Moonsong smirks, she starts to reach for the wailing dibbun mice when she takes a sudden gasp and tenses up, the arrow has sank into her back and she coughs up a little blood, yeah that makes the dibbuns wail even louder now and the squirrel maid back up into a corner as she tries to calm the dibbuns, the rat stumbles back and falls forwards as her eyes mist over in dead, and one very shaky squirrel maid stares on holding the dibbuns close even if the rat is a threat no longer.

Bandit bolts to the gate house. For such a fat fox he is surprisingly fast at short distances. He checks first the rat and kicks the glass from her hands, just in case. Turning then to the other beasts he asks, "Are you ok? Did she hurt you?"

Leon runs quickly to the gatehouse praying the arrow hit the rat and no one else, he glances down at the rat he don’t need to check a pulse he knows it’s dead, he scoops his dibbuns up from the squirrel maid and calms them ,"calm down..please"

Bastien frowns as he peeks in, he looks at the rat "I..didn’t miss" he says quietly. He looks at the squirrel and the others, the squirrel is probably going to stay in the corner his guess. He drops the longbow and leans on the wall, he should be glad he killed the rat but still...he killed a beast, even if it was a threat..it’s dead.

Moonsong is dead, arrow in her back, as soon as Leon takes his dibbuns the squirrel maid decides she has had enough today and is getting out of the gatehouse, she needs air and to calm down, very shakily she leaves the gatehouse and whimpers some.

Bandit gives the rat a kick in the side. He turns angrily to the hare and begins to say, "Someone mind telling me just what the ..." He pauses when he sees that Bastien is clearly troubled and bites his tongue. "You alright Bastien?"

Bastien closes his eyes and gulps, "She..was a threat and..she was after his family and earlier thought she killed him and...". He has not really killed a beast before "She's..dead, the rat is dead and I killed her and...she died..killed her"

Leon looks up at the hare, his tunic has a large tear in it and he is still holding his dibbuns, they have calmed down somewhat now, he is unsure what to say to the hare.

The door to the gatehouse bursts open, a loud crack resounding out as the door bangs against the wall, and DoraRose dashes out, her sword drawn in her paw and her left arm out of its sling. Her eyes flash as she looks around wildly. "What happened? I was asleep and I heard yelling. What's going on?" She sees the dead rat and Leon holding their Dibbuns, and her face turns ashen. "Leon? Are you alright? What happened?"

Bandit sighs deeply, he puts a comforting paw on the hares shoulder. "Easy Bastien, easy. Take a deep breath. This isn't the time for the head guard of Redwall to lose it."
Bastien looks at Dorarose as she comes in, and then Bandit, then the mouse maid "The rat..escaped the infirm and...she stabbed the head healer and ran off, I followed and" He takes a deep breath "I and..them..came here, she has a novice and then knocked them out, said she had better idea for a captive so went into the gatehouse, that’s when the squirrel had the two dibbuns and she went to grab the dibbuns and..I fired the arrow and ..the rat died...it’s dead now" He is still a little shaken up, he blinks, "Oh and the squirrel went ummm...somewhere and the dibbuns are with..him" He points to Leon.
Leon rocks his dibbuns and lets the hare explain, he speaks, "I am not hurt she missed....sort of" He can’t show how she missed as his dibbuns need him now.
Bandit turns to the mouse maid, "Let's...get him away for all this for a second. Come Bastien, follow me. Let's get some ale into you."
DoraRose is shaking and she lowers her sword and goes over to Leon's side and gives the Dibbuns a waverly smile. "I'm...glad you're all alright. I don't think it matters how she missed, so long as she missed." She swallows, then gently touches her husband's shoulder. "I think we should go somewhere calmer and let the guards deal with the body. Let me put my sword away, and then we can go. Alright?"
Leon nods, "Pond" He says calmly and goes to the pond carrying the dibbuns. He lets her put away the sword and then heads to the pond.

Bastien nods slowly, he nods to Dorarose, "Glad you and your family are ok miss.."

DoraRose smiles slightly at the hare. "Thank you. So am I..."

RW Abbey: Pond

The abbey pond is practically the place to go for relaxation. The orchards that settle onto one side of the water hole provide decent shade for the more heated months to come. Various types of wild flowers grow about the edge of the ground that lightly overhangs into the pond. The pond seemingly invites one into its cool depths, which holds its fish life and multiple species of shrimp and other water dwellers.

Spring has come. Due to the rains, the abbey pond is just gently lapping at the edges of the ground. Soon to overflow lightly if the spring rains don't let up soon. Plant life seems to explode here in a variety of colors, sizes and aromas.

South Wallgate

DoraRose heads into the gatehouse to put her weapon back where it belongs, then exits and heads over to the pond to join her family. She is still a little pale as she stands by the edge of the pond, tugging the sling back over her left arm.

Leon has calmed the dibbuns and looks to his torn tunic and frowns, it can be sewn, he gets a stuffed toy from his robe, hmmmss the toy looks a little damaged as there is a large hole in it and stuffing leaking out, he lays it down and stares at the pond.

DoraRose gently lays a paw on her husbands' shoulder. "I can fix those. I hate sewing, so I learned to do it fast from Mama. I can go get my sewing kit. I think might even have some extra stuffing." She's trying to hide how shaken up she is, but she's not succeeding.

Leon suddenly hugs Dorarose and holds her close, "I was afraid..when the rat got in the gatehouse that..that she would hurt you or the dibbuns, I was so scared and scared Bastien would miss and hit one of you..." He finally nods "Yeah..fix the tunic and toy...had the toy in my robe, when that rat knocked me down the stairs and stabbed..." he closes his eyes, "I am not sure I want ta know what could of happen if that stuffed toy wasn’t where it was at the time"

DoraRose hugs him back, tightly, as if she'll never, ever let him go again. "That toy saved your life. Oh, Leon, I'm terrified to imagine what could've happened!" She sobs slightly and buries her face in his shoulder, squishing her left arm between them. "I hate that stupid rule saying we can't have weapons in the Abbey! Then we needn't've worried so much. Oh, Leon..." a pair of tears escape her eyes.

Leon nods "It’s alright Love...she had broken a glass and was using it as a weapon, and think she got one of those surgery knifes from the infirm, I don’t know, I am just glad you’re safe...let’s just not worry on this, it will only cause stress, I can let Benar or Flicktail know what happen later on." He offers a smile to try and cheer her up, "Guess shouldn’t of fallen asleep in the library last night I was..talking to Oz"

DoraRose nods and sniffs. "You're right. I should probably tell Emyuil, as well. Oh? Is Oz alright?" She backs up a little and wipes her eyes with her right paw, then returns it back to around his shoulders.

Leon nods "Yeah best just, not worry besides the rat is..she died" He sighs, "No not really ok at all but has friends and will be ok, I am sure"

DoraRose cocks her head to one side slightly. "What's wrong with Oz?" She sniffs, then sneezes four times in a row. She really needs to get the missing herb so the healers can make her more allergy powder...

Leon looks in his healing pack, he has a little of the herb he keeps around and looks at Dorarose, "Here..enough for least couple doses." He looks around and seems unsure whether to say anything, "It’s best to let him say something when he is ready to."

DoraRose nods and tucks the herb into her robe pocket....aw, man, she went dashing out of the gatehouse with her sword wearing her nightgown and bathrobe! Good thing the robe looks very much like a habit...maybe no beast will notice. "Thank you. I guess I should let Oz tell me himself. Ah, Leon..." she hesitates, rubbing her nose with a hankie to stall a little.

Leon nods and smiles, "Yeah, things will be ok, not to worry."

DoraRose looks down at the hem of her nightgown (it's a little long, and she hasn't had the time to hem it, so it drags on the ground). "Um, Leon, would you mind if I went out and gathered some herbs? I'd be careful," she adds hurridly, looking up to meet his gaze again. I would either stay around the Abbey or go south. I doubt any of Mareks' horde are in the south, since Ferravale is in the north, right? I would be careful, I promise. I just need to get out of the Abbey for a few hours." she twists her handkerchief in her paws, hoping that Leon will not mind so much.

Leon frowns at this, "I..rather you not, not right now, someone else can go..maybe your brother could go and get the herbs and we do have a good amount in the infirm now" He sighs, "Why go out all of a sudden?"

DoraRose's kerchief is all crumpled up now as the mouse twists it some more. "It's...it's not all of a sudden. I've been wanting to get outside for weeks now. I'm so sick of being cooped up with so many other creatures. I grew up on a farm, and then I wandered for nearly a season, searching for Stormfeather. I'm not used to large amounts of creatures living in one place. I feel crowded. I need to get away, or I'm afraid I'll go insane! I'd go south a little, in the woods. I would be heavily armed...I'd take my sword, and my sling, and Papa's battle axe. Nightsong is a good walking staff, too. And I'd leave the Dibbuns here." She takes a hold of Leon's paw, her eyebrows drawn together in almost desperation.

Leon asks, "You named your walking staff?" He seems surprised and sighs again "I just..don't wanna lose you"

DoraRose smiles slightly. "No. Sorry, I thought you knew. Nightsong is the name Papa gave his battleaxe. Emyuil brought it here from Tuscani." She hugs her husband tightly. "I wouldn't die. I doubt I would meet any beast in the southern part of Mossflower Woods and right around Redwall. I'm a warrior, Leon. I will be fine." She backs up a little and lays her paw on his cheek. "I'm going crazy in here, Leon. I need to get away for a few hours. Please. I'll be careful, I promise."

Leon nods slowly, "Fine but, but if I don't see you back by dinner time..I..I am going to send a search party after you and a sparrow and..and" Heck he call all of Mossflower to look for her if he could.

DoraRose smiles so brightly, if she was made of glass her face would break. She hugs Leon tightly around his neck. "I'll be back by then, don't worry. What could possibly go wrong?" she pulls back and kisses him. "I'll pack a few things and leave tomorrow or the next day. I'll take all my weapons. I'll be fine, you'll see." she gives him another tight hug.

Leon nods , he has to trust her, "I..I will trust that, and yes take weapons and leave the dibbuns here, hopefully this stuff with Marek will clear soon and be over and done with, then roads will be safer"

DoraRose smiles and nods. "I'll be sure to. Don't worry. I'll be fine. I'll even wait until we get word that the battle fr Ferravale is under way, so we'll know that the enemy is occupied and won't bother with a lone mouse." her blues eyes sparkle slightly, and she looks happier than she has for weeks.

Leon nods "I heard Scioto is getting ready and some abbey beasts , may of even already left I don't know" He smiles and gives her a hug, he picks up the now sleeping dibbuns "I need to do some things in the infirm, I will see you in a little while dear."
