He Is Ready For More Intense Training-Jedrick Log

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

=At the Fighting Pits of Halyard

Jedrick is here to watch fighting and make another watch as well “Pay attention to mistakes made, you can learn from watching fights as well"

Xander frowns, but he still watches as right now a couple rats start fighting each other and the smaller of the two seems to have the upper paw so far.

Jedrick watches quietly, he was always one to come to these and sometimes lesser skilled fighters fought and to this he grins.

Xander frowns, he has not wanted to come, so he just watched as the two rats basically knocked each other out and sighs

Jedrick smirks as an idea hits him "You need to learn from someone besides me.." He grins as a thin weasel wants to fight and goes to push Xander forwards "Go fight!"

Xander eyes go wide as he tumbles into the fighting ring and quickly presses against the wall as he looks at the wildcat “What...I don't wanna fight...why you?" He then frowns as he knows he is talking back and steps away from the wall and gulps.

Jedrick gives a growl at the badger as the weasel just smirks, he looks to be a teenager maybe a couple seasons older than the badger "Ya gonna fight me..stripe dog or just stand there like a baby?"

Xander frowns but makes a couple fists, he is strong for his age and fast on his footpaws. He stays alert as he gets closer and starts to circle the Wesel.

The weasel laughs and goes to try and trip the badger and punch him in the gut. “This will be fun...strip dog, little stripe dog ha ha"

Xander sidesteps and jumps backwards almost tripping, he does feel the punch to the gut and swipes out with his claws towards the weasel's head, a small growl forming and he fights back any tears threating to fall.

The fight does not go unnoticed by the beasts around them. A few shouts and cheers and a couple of jeers towards whomever they are not rooting for, namely, the badger. "Kick his woodlander tail!" "Show the vermin wanna be who's boss!"

With the crowd distracted Rioko is allowed to quietly enter. The well fed grey fox slinks in, casting a curious glance at the pit before striding up to the bar.

Jedrick smirks as he watches, the weasel gets a claw mark to the back of the head and glares, he backs up and then tries a full on charge at the badger, for now it’s just fists and possible claws and teeth.

Xander didn’t choose this, he gets a hit to the shoulder and then one to the jaw, he finally ducks and kicks out at the weasel and snorts, he sidesteps a punch and goes to grab and bite the weasel's tail, that’s allowed right?

The vixen orders mead from the bar, a big helping pint of mead to satisfy her sweet tooth craving. Then moving to satisfy her craving for entertainment she steps closer to the arena. Bloodsport never was much her thing but in Halyard she has seen more beasts murdered in horrible ways in conflicts between LP and Vermin and vermin and more vermin alone that she could use something a bit more tame to watch...

The weasel laughs until his tail is bit and he snarls "Ya gonna pay for that stripe dog!!!" He gets a hit to the snout and that angers him more so he looks around and grabs a spear and smirks, "Pain time" Jedrick watches curious to where this leads, he needs the badger till, but this could get interesting.

Xander gasps and stands ready to fight still, His eyes narrow at the weasel as he may not have a spear...yet, but he is strong and can still move faster, least so far.

"Hey," A ferret nudges the pot bellied vixen in the side. "How much you bet the weasel kills the badger." The vixen just rolls her eyes, "Two coppers says the baaAAaAAah...say what now?" The fox leans near the railing, tail poofing.

Calm yourself, thinks the fox. This is just a coincidence. This can't really be the badger you have been looking for all this time...well...part time...ok she mostly forgot he existed after the stint with the wolverine.

Other beasts seem to be placing bets on the beasts below. The weasel in favor of winning.

The weasel cackles and then goes to try and ram a spear right into the badger and if it doesn’t move, he hits him, if he moves well he will hit the wall with the spear looks like.

Xander gulps, he waits till the last second and jumps sideways and tumbles as the sharp end miss him, but the weasel’s arm gets him, he goes to make a fist and punch the weasel on the side of the head and kick at his back if able.

"No, no, no..." The vixen moans out loud. Others around her may think she is losing her bet but in reality she is lamenting the loss of her day off. That crazy hare...blast it. Now that she has found a possible lead she will have to follow up on it. Blast it blast it blast it. Blast that crazy hare Felicity for dragging her tail into this.

Wait, there was a wildcat with him, right? Oh! Well, as long as there is no wildcat here then maybe this is just some random badger...who matches the missing badger's description in an uncanny way. Then Rioko can get back to her day off and drink all the mead she wants!

The fox takes one look around the room and spots the wildcat. "Blast it!" she shouts, slamming her mug, and fore head into the railing.

Jedrick growls as the weasel's spear hits the wall , the weasel gets punched in the side cracking a rib, and the badger gets that lucky shot to the left cheek sending the weasel into unconcious land, and now let’s just unknowingly help or not help Rioko.."Good work Xander...finish it off!"

Xander looks surprised the weasel is unconcious, as the words finish it off is heard he shakes his head, no one said death had to happen so he quickly leaves the ring, he can face punishment if he must, but is not killing the weasel.

The fox clutches her paw to her head. What to do, what to do. "Ah heck." She downs the mead in one gulp, tossing the mug behind her. What she was about to do was going to be decidedly dangerous and needed far more mead to pull it off but here goes! "Hey there!" The fox sleezes up to the wildcat. "Howdy pal! I have to say your fancy little badger just lost me a couple of pretty coins! You must be proud to be his trainer!"

Jedrick goes to yank the badger towards him and starts to yell something when he turns to the vixen “Not for sale, he is mine so don't ask and his training is going well." He snarls and the weasel is dragged off and another fight should start soon, not all fights end in death, some do though.

Xander allows himself to stay by the wildcat and glances at the fox with a frown, he stays quiet as he has learned, speak only when spoken to and when your allowed to speak, he sits down by the wildcat and stays silent.

"Not for sale?" The fox looks taken aback, "Nah nah nah, you misunderstand! I'm not looking to buy your, uh, fighter there from you. I just was wondering if..." What was the fox wondering, the fox wondered, "Maybe you would like to take on another beast? I have a...friend who was looking to get into the fighting gig. I tried to talk them out of it, better ways to make a living than having your head beat in, am I right? But they seem determined to become a fighter."

Jedrick folds his arms over his chest “Depends on the age, I fight at times, the badger here is just beginning to fight and tonight has done well, we may be back here in fact."

Xander frowns, he rather not fight but he will if he is told to and rubs his shoulder as it’s a little sore. He looks around and watches as another fight starts, a ferret and a lizard are fighting with daggers. But he also stays very alert to other things as well.

"Oh, so I can find you around /here/ again?" The vixen smiles sweetly. She takes a bow that would be much more gracious without her stomach getting in the way. "Call me Rrrrrioko!" She says, rolling her 'r's. "May I ask the name of a trainer so good and a fighter so brave?"

Jedrick seems no hard in it, "I am Jedrick and the badger is Xander, I plan on stepping up his training now, I feel.....he is ready" He grins at Xander "Right?"

Xander stands up straight as he is spoken to and nods “Yes sir, course sir" He indeed listens to the wildcat very well. He does look at the fox briefly then back to Jedrick ever alert and paying attention.

The fox feels her heart skip a beat. "Jedrick? A fancy name for a true fancy wildcat I say. I'll send my friend over here next time I see them." The vixen has all the info she needs save for one more detail. Dare she press for it? "W-where should they go in case they can't find you here?" Rio always was a gambling fox.

Jedrick stays quiet and then speaks "Oh I am sure your...friend will find me around somewhere, I live in the village after all"

Xander is listening and keeps the emotionless look, he is getting more use to keeping it, it’s getting easier and that could not vote well for him.

The fox nods vigorously. Her tail wags behind her. "Alright Mr. Jedrick. You take care for the night. You just keep coming here and I'm sure my friend will meet you. And you..." She says to the badger, "You just keep yourself in one piece. You will be meeting friends soon..." She smiles coyly, "New friends, my friend. You're new sparing buddy...assuming they don't blow it of course and..." the fox pauses, gathering her wits, "You know, I'll just be heading out. Take care yall." The fox begins to back her way for the door before turning to leave.

Jedrick watches the vixen closely, he will remember her as he looks to Xander just as the lizard beats the snot out of the ferret, the ferret is dragged off and the lizard looks ready to fight more as the wildcat walks to the door “Come Xander"

Xander nods "Yes sir, right away sir" He follows the wildcat closely and puts his hood back up and is out the door with the wildcat to what he calls...home.

Later at the house he looks at the badger and grins “You did well” He nods “Rest early tonight you earned it and some sweets” Yes he has cupcakes.

Xander’s eyes widen as he nods, “Yes sir” After dinner, and desert that he makes last and enjoys every bite he gets a good night’s sleep for once in his room.
