First Date? Part Three

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Characters: Tagger, Garolyn, Robin

Location: Ferravale: Tavern

Tagger listens carefully as she talks about where she is from. A small look of concern appears on the otters face, when she mentions her home being burned. But remains quiet as she finishes. Then there is a pause while she drinks. And the otter wonders if its alright to say something. Or maybe she is just waiting for more buildup. So Tagg uses this time, to have a little drink himself. Then he almost has a spit take when she asks the question of her veil. He has always wondered about it. But never really thought too deep about it. He has seen many beasts wear them before. Some of whom wear them to hide who they are. So no one can find them. He tilts his head and looks at her, deeply into her glassy eyes. He then has a small chuckles and a bit of a smirk, "Well. One day. I would like to see you without it. So i can see you, as you..." he goes apple red at this point, but continues on, "But i figured, if you are uncomfortable takin it off. Then i can wait..." he takes another little sip. Still staring at her.

Garolyn didnt notice the look of concern, and if she had, she wouldnt have cared. But she was too busy staring at her drink as she talked to notice anything but the reflection of herself. The ferret shrugs and takes another sip. "I wear it for many reasons, but here? For dinner? I do not need to wear it." She puts down her mug and reaches up (avoiding Taggers gaze- she hasnt taken her veil off in front of someone for quite some time, and she doesnt know how to feel about it), unclipping both studs that hold the veil on her face. Her muzzle is furry, a lighter shade than the rest of her fur. Her nose is black. She has a scar, starting from right below her left eye to the bottom of her nose. That scar is white, and it pulls her lip up just a bit, showing the top of a metal fang made of silver. She looks at Tagger expectantly.

Tagger was slightly surprised that she was willing to take off her veil like that. Thinking there was a huge reason for it. He smiles warmly as she reaches up to remove the veil. Then a billion things run through his mind. Is she a Mossflower criminal on the run? Is she being hunted? Is that why she is slightly mysterious? Then the veil is removed, and he can see the scar. And it does make him raise his eyebrows as he looks directly at it. Following the scar from her lip to under her eye. Then he is back to looking at her eyes, "Well. That wasn't something i was expecting." He is silent, just looking at her. Then the otter smiles warmly, reaching out a paw on the table, is she wishes to take it, "You are. Very beautiful..." He grins deeply.

Robin is here too. He's in the back ground, playing some song, earning money, that sort of thing.

Garolyn grins, too, showing all her shiny white teeth and that one metal canine tooth. She clasps his paw in hers and takes another, longer drink, of her ale. "The scar I do not care about, but the tooth, I do. You cannot hunt creatures down if your teeth sparkle in the slightest bit of light." Well, she is a mercenary, so she does have some reason to think like that. "And thank you, Tagger." She blushes at the last comment from the otter. "Ye are quite dashing, thyself." That wasnt so bad! And it does feel good to take that veil off every now and then.

Tagger grins and chuckles. He didn't realize she was trying to hide the tooth. He REALLY wasn't expecting that. So, he gives her paw a little squeeze, "Oh aye! Specially some of the smarter buggers... I have my own metal tooth. But its in the back." He puts to the middle of his cheek. He grins, "And Thank ye!" And he swore he heard a stoat gagging behind him. Or maybe it was the Robin in his head. He blinks a bit, before looking back at her, leaving his beer to warm, "So. I guess the next question is. What do you do for living?" Not many beasts. Hunt creature. Though, if she does, what he thinks she does. She and his sister would get along just fine.

Garolyn makes a face as she drinks her ale, sipping it slowly to make it last. /And/ to make her time at the tavern with Tagger lasts longer, too. "I am a mercenary. I currently work with one named Darkwatcher, though. He is an irritating character. Though he brings in good money and the best jobs, so I put up with him. What do ye do?" She doesnt hear any kind of gagging stoat, so Tagger must be imagining it. Though she does try and block the sound of a little chuckling Kaol from entering her minds eye. It is quite an unfortunate sound, especially when he has a broken muzzle. (Which Garolyn has given to him on more than one occasion.)
